black hair with the brown eyes
i see you, and you see me
because i saw you looking

you are the entity of summer
don't you remember?
evenings

talking all night
and planning the afternoon
i'd sneak you through the back door

then there was the time
you rode your bike to my house
and stood outside until i came out

sometimes i find myself missing
kissing you
and playing with the part where your hair curls up

and i miss the days
when your ego wasn't bigger than the bright sphere
we sat under as we talked

i know what you're thinking
as we lock eyes for a second
in the hallways

because you told me
because i said the same
because you never took it back
