also wrote this for english, a while ago...
right now
it's snowed on
and frozen over,
but i think back
to the days
when the lawn was green
and we could lay in it
to warm up.
we would roam the terrain,
sneaking a snack
from the vegetable garden
out back.
it was the middle of june
and we ate strawberries
to our heart's
content.
a cool breeze began, and
the day gave us
one last burst of sunshine---
pink, red, orange---
and we'd laugh
as the hammock swung,
us swatting the buzzing
mosquitoes away.
