-Chapter 02-
Selphie read the letter that had been given to Matron on the day her
mother had died.
Dear Selphie,
I don't know if the people who bring you to Edea's
orphanage will even bother giving them this letter.
But know this.
Your father did ask for my hand in marriage. But I
turned him down for his sake.
He's a good man, and he wanted to be honorable. But
he's not ready to settle down. He's still trying to
find himself.
Maybe it was a mistake, but I didn't want him to
throw away his life because he thought he had any
obligation.
I think I broke his heart. And that was a mistake.
If you ever meet Laguna, give him a hug from
yourself and an extra one from me.
Your mom,
Selma.
"Laguna?" Selphie wondered. Was it possible that Sir Laguna was
her father?
With a hopeful smile, she put away the letter, then she undressed
and got into the shower. Singing happily to herself, she shampooed
her hair, her mind on the happy thought that she might have a living
father whom she was sure would be proud of her when he met her.
