What I’ve done
Frank and the group sat down on the benches by the grass. None of them had nothing to say, and it was best it stayed silent.
“I can’t believe he’s really gone.” Tati whispered sadly.
“Me neither.” Ray added.
“We put him through a lot, but it was always made as a joke. We didn’t want to harm him.”
“We still shouldn’t have done that. It was wrong.” Leia mumbled.
“At least we’re not in the red for the accident. Who knows what they could’ve done to us.” Gerard retorted.
“Charges for everyone probably.” Bob muttered.
Frank had wanted to interject, that in some way maybe they did deserve it. Frank had spent the first couple nights crying, Out of guilt, sadness, and blame for the disappearance of Xander. Did they really to take it that far? It was only one challenge, and he was in. But it cost him more than just the need to belong ; his life. All he wanted was friends. Friends who put his life in danger and ultimately killed him.
“Nothing has been okay since then. Everywhere I go I see a reminder of him.” Frank finally spoke.
“We can’t let us get this down though. It was an accident and we had no idea it was going to snap.”
“But we knew the rope wasn’t secure in the first place. It is our fault, whether you want to accept it or not.” Frank hissed. Everyone froze, and Frank had never been so angry as he did right now.
“The tricks we pulled on him, the name calling, we were assholes to a guy who did nothing to us. We even asked him to do a stupid fucking dare and it killed him. I’m not going to pretend it didn’t happen because it did!” Frank cried. And he walked off without another word leaving the group to drown in the guilt that they deserved.
“He’s right.” Leia bit her lip to stop herself from crying.
“Frank is always emotional, let him cool off for a minute. We didn’t mean to do it on purpose.” Gerard intervened. Gerard was still not admitting the truth, and he knew it pissed Frank off. But Gerard was never one to tell secrets, and this was one of them. No matter how much the guilt ate him up inside.
“I have to go.” Ray muttered and soon trailed behind Frank who was long gone.
Everyone else had stayed in the grass, it was as if it was their last chance to feel the presence of their lost friend. They had at least owed him that, though it would never be enough.

Frank sat on the windowsill of his room looking out to the city as he held the yearbook that had Xander’s last picture in it. He had been so happy that day. He had moved from city to city and never stood in one school for long. It was his first actual picture day, and Frank smiled at the memory through blurred vision.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered and put the yearbook down where he watched the day turn into night and wondered if Xander was happy somewhere.
“I hope you are.” He said one last time before drifting into sleep.
~~~~~~~
Xander mocked the group on the way home. Watching how they move. A thing he never noticed before, and he blamed himself for not doing so. He pointed out special notes. Mikey walked slowly than the rest of the people. He was quiet and shy, looked like he always fidgetting, he was happy for short periods of time, but then it would fade. He thought that was weird. Tati he noticed cringed when someone came no more than inch from her. She would flinch when someone tried to touch her. Bob was always seemed angry. Like nothing could make him smile, and he did he was usually being an ass. These were the simple things, and Xander was most excited about finding out the true people they really were. The people he once thought of as friends. But they weren’t. They were selfish human beings who only cared about themselves, and like to mess with other people. It wasn’t right, and Xander would fix it. They had yet to be scared. He smiled once more at the thought.
~~~~~~~
Frank ran through the woods after hearing his name being called.
“Frank!” It echoed. It sounded like Xander.
“Xander?” He called out into the black night.
“Frank come find me.” The voice teased.
“Where are you?” He called out again. He ran and ran but found himself going in circles and the howling of wolves was scaring him.
“Frank? Are you coming?”
“I’m coming! Where are you?” He desperately cried. It was Xander he knew it for sure. He saw shadows through the trees and he ran in that direction. The moon disappeared with the clouds and lightening flashed through the sky, followed by a loud rumble of thunder.
“Frank over here!”
“Wait!” He called as the shadows moved in lightening speed, he tried to catch up but was failing miserably.
“C’mon Frankie! Play with me!”
“Hold on!” He froze when heard screaming.
“Help me! Frank! Help me!” The voice cried out. Frank ran to the noise and stopped at the hill where the river was running down. Shivers went up his spine as he looked at the rope that ripped in half.
“Frank help!”
“Where are you? I can’t see you!”
“I’m over here.” The voice was softer now.
“Where?!” Frank’s voice had cracked. He heard noise, but there was no body! His head spinned.
“Frank why aren’t you helping me?”
“I am! I can’t see you! Where are you!”
“I’m over here!”
“No you’re not! Stop messing with me!”
“Frank!”
“Fucking stop it!”
“Okay.” The voice appeared behind him. Frank slowly turned around and gasped as he was face to face with Xander.
“Boo.” He smirked and pushed him. Frank screamed as he fell off the cliff and fell into the freezing water.
He cried out when his back hit the ground with several cracks. And as he drowned he saw Xander standing on the cliff smiling and waving….
~~~~~~~
Frank woke up covered in sweat. He clutched his chest and felt like he couldn’t breathe. He began to panic. He breathed in out while tears spilled into his blanket. It had been so real. He felt the pain of his back, and the voice had been…real.
“It’s just a dream.” He whispered. He almost screamed when he saw a shadow. He turned his lamp on and sighed when no one was there.
“Help me.” He whispered into thin air.
“I’m sorry.” He muttered for the 10th time that night.
~~~~~~~
“That was fun, but not quite fun enough.” Xander smiled while climbing down the vines that decorated Frank’s house.
“Wasn’t so fucking fun going down the river was is it?” He hissed and walked away. He took pride in his new so called power.
“I’m saving you for last Frankie boy. Don’t you worry.” He smirked.
“Now, who shall I bring mercy to first?” He put a hand to his chin. He roared in frustration on his decision.
“No. No. No. No. No. Yes.” He laughed.
“Oh Raaaaaaay.”
“I’m going to give you one more night. But tomorrow, it’s your big break.”
“I wonder what secrets you have Toro.” He looked into the sky and raised an eyebrow. He loved his new power.
“Wow Ray. I didn’t think you were capable of doing such a thing. Not that I should be surprised these days.” He rolled his eyes.
“They say one kills a man, one is an assassin; one kills millions, one is a conqueror; one kills everybody, one is a god ; I think its time we put that to the test.”
