The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

Well this sure made thing 'interesting' to say the least. Liked the views of Vulcan and of the several plugs with Sarek, Amanda and the Medical academy.
Now it seems Harry & Hui have enough to slowly get things together to eventually return and deal with not only the goblins (& get Harry's vaults & $$$), and Helga's cup, but Tom and the final Horcrux itself!
Keep builing it up but don't take too long!
Oh and is it T'Pon or T'Pol???
;-)

Glad to see the new chapter!
I'm not liking what Hui is dreaming about. It can't bode well for our heroes.
I wish we were able to see more of Sarek and Amanda. The diplomatic corp is small, and like the military, and friends made now will eventually be rekindled later in a new posting.
Hope to see more soon! The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

Well, that kind of thing is definitely going to give you a headache, even if you're a Master of Gol. I rather suspect mistree T'pon now has a bit more respect for other intelligent races as well as a bit more humility about her own abilities. At such time as they return to Earth, I wonder if Fawkes will be able to take them to meet the descendants of the Goblins?
I do hope that dream of Hui's at the end is merely a result of stress and not a prohetic dream, that does not sound good. I rather suspect that Harry is going to have a challenge taking out a weakened Voldemort, even after destroying all of the horcurxes. I don't know if it'll be then or later, but I see Harry eventually going back in time and I do rather hope he's able to bring hui with him (the fight that destroys Tom might well send them both back). Now, what, if anything, he does to change the future upon his return would be quite fascinating (I wonder if his return without the embedded horcrux would change things for Tom?).Author's response
Unfortunatly, Fawkes wont be able to take the Potters to meet the goblins. Eventually, I'll be rewriting this and fleshing it out quite a bit more to clarify and explain why, but all I'll say is that it's not that Fawkes doesn't want to take them to the Goblins, but he can't. My personal view is that the Gringott's branches are the "public" view of the goblin nation for the magical world to interact with. once you board a cart to go to the vaults, your transported (very seamlessly) to the location of the vaults. Where those Vaults are, isn't under London or any other city, but someplace else. right now the else is up in the air, but it sure isn't under England.
As for Hui's dreams, Just remember who the good doctor/healer is related to. Stress is a trigger, but it's going to be a few chapters before everything is revealed. The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

Brilliant use of the ST canon and novels. It was nice seeing Sorrel in action for a little bit, even if Daniel wasn't there. (for those not familiar with them, the novels are The Vulcan Academy Murders and the IDIC Epidemic -- two classic Trek novels I think are always worth reading)The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

Interesting. I was wondering why the story took them to Vulcan, but you obviously have the plot line well though out.
The longish delay in this Chapter going up almost put me into severe withdrawal symptoms. Of course, the quality product was worth the wait, but I hope that Real Life and other interfering factors don't delay your story any longer than necessary to get good work out.
I'm sure you don't need to be told that praise like you are getting from DrT and some other reviewers is "platinum plus", as they are highly respected fan fic authors themselves, and are of the 2% who SHOULD be getting paid for their work. The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

Logical to use the Vulcans to extract Harry's Horcrux...even though I don't believe the scenario where Harry receives the thing.
No reason not to discover other 'magical' foci available on other planets.
I haven't even thought about either of the books DrT mentioned in forever. The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

Great fun here, and a creepy moment there, to think of a Riddled Vulcan adept, and what that could have meant for the universe, and bet that maybe some Vulcans, when or if they learn of this, might just not be quite so snobbish as they like to be, even if that's not logical. Keep wondering about Hui's dreams, and what they might mean, as well as what all will happen when the two of them go to the fleet and if they'll end up on seperate vessels when they go, and does those dreams have to do with a race of supermen? The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

To think I've seen this story so many times and for so long without bothering to read it! Well, I'm very glad i did now. The early chapters were a bit sketchy but the latter ones are brilliant. Your merger between the universes works surprisingly well, and i look forward to the next chapters. Oh, and keep thinking before you write. I can see you do, and as i tried the other way myself, i wouldn't recommend it.
Sterling work!
I'll be here for the rest.

I'm glad that you like it and decided to give it a shot. I am thinking quite heavily about the chapter I am writing at the moment and how the following chapters are going to pan out. I'll say this much the upcoming chapter is the longest yet, so far its at 14 pages and climbing. Its an experiment for me and hopefully it turns out well. I will attempt to finish it this weekend and get it off to my beta's computer, but no firm promises. The Wizard on the Edge of Forever

I don't like the original StarTrek, too old and onrealistic to truly enjoy it (but I admit I only saw a handfull).
Having said that, I do enjoy this story and have no regret it isn't placed in a 'later' universe. A believable mix of the 2 universes, display of in depth knowlege about them, well written, ...
Put it in my favorites and wil be checking it regularly. You're doing great! Maybe you'll even make me watch the original series :p (Then again, the movies were ok...)
