Christmas Fifth Year

Some very interesting variations start to appear here, as Harry & Hermione manage to most thoroughly bollox up Dumbledore's plnas as well as those of Tom and the Ministry. 'Twill be quite interesting to see where/how things evolve from here. It's definitely going to be a Christmas season that Harry & Hermione will always remember. I rather suspect that the fallout from that last sequence is going to get very interesting as Lord Potter and his betrothed learn that they can't trust the two youngest Weasleys and have reason to carefully question teh others.Christmas Fifth Year

Like the story so far but...
Well it reads more like a totally new story than a sequel to your "Summer 4th year" story...
Most notably due to 1 major change and 1 minor but not insignificant one...
Minor: Ginny's fight with Hermione over Harry... it seemed at the end of "Summer 4th Year" that Ginny was going to change focus
MAJOR: Sleeping arrangments... So they are no longer sleeping together, no big deal, they couldnt at school anyway... but Hermione's parents and even to some extent Sirius's "forbidding" it after allowing it in "summer 4th year" is a total reversal...Christmas Fifth Year

Big Plot Hole: When, in this timeline, did Harry learn the prophecy? In canon he didn't learn it 'til the end of his Fifth year.
I can understand the concern about sleeping arrrangements; while he was at the Grangers they were all fairly close but in the hotel, with junior suites for both Harry & Hermione, I can see where there'd be a bit more concern on the adults' part.Christmas Fifth Year

I guess, but I still feel the story is disjointed from its original...
Heck, its even somewhat disjointed from its self, right in chapter 2 Harry starts calling Mrs. Granger mum and then later does it as a slip of the tongue instead of intentional...
I still like the story though and wish to see it continued, im just trying to constructively criticizeChristmas Fifth Year

Enjoyed it. Looking forward to more chapters.
From your description of the Grangers home, it would appear they could easily afford tutors for the couple.
Glad to see Bill sand up for himself.Christmas Fifth Year

Love what is going on so far. A few things I noticed;
1. H&H were sleeping together in Summer, now they're being separated. Seems incongruous.
2. I can't figure out the letters and decisions thing by Hermione. Why was she deciding again between Harry and Ron? What'd I miss?
Regardless, you have my rapt attention. Love the Sirius as an 8 year old thing and hope you have a little fun with it next time. Lots of potential there.Christmas Fifth Year

Got to love everyones plans coming apart like they did. Dumbles crew loose control of Harry and Tom's thugs get several 'own goals', while Snape gets justice Death Eater style.
Smash the plans of the goats and snakessome more. I love JRK's world but from year five onward she buggered things up good when she caved to the masses.Christmas Fifth Year

A damn good start with what I've read so far ... on a topic, why wasn't HQ checked or was it .. did anyone notice anything odd? Or did the Incendiary team firebomb the place like they were supposed too??Christmas Fifth Year

One small typo inthe last scene, it's "Seamus", not "Shamus" - going by that scene, methinks Harry's other former dorm mates are going to send him a warning owl.
