"Oh my god, no!" She burst in tears and heard Steven on the phone telling Joe's mom that he had been shot and has died. This was it, Jared had killed Joe. She lost him, the man she knew she was going to grow old with, the man she was so sure, so postive was going to have his kids. Those dreams were shattered now that he was gone. All because of Jared, her selfish, psycho ex-boyfriend. One of the hotel managers came in and asked what happened. Steven told him everything. The manager told him the person that has their name under the hotel room, will be getting fined. He told the manager he would be paying for it.
"Why are you crying?" Joe sat up. Cyrinda couldn't believe it, this is real, right?
"What?" He laughed at the expression on her face "Hey why is Steven here? And who's that guy?"
"Joe, he shot you!"
"Steven?" He gave her a confused look.
"NO! Jared shot you!"
"Oh yeah it came back to me now" He unbuttoned his shirt "I put on a vest"
"Where did you get that?"
"I found it in my parents basement."
"And your okay?"
"Yeah!"
"Joe, I thought he killed you!"
He raised his eyebrow.
"Then why did you make that noise when he shot you?"
"Oh because I hit the wall and came down really hard." He pointed at the vest "Look where it hit, The chest. I'm so lucky to be wearing a vest"
He looked at the cops, who were forcing Jared to get up. They tazered him and dragged him out the door. Jared looked at Joe and yelled "I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!"
Joe smirked and pointed at the vest. Cyrinda hugged him after Joe looked away from Jared.
"Did you really think I died?"
"Yes Joe" A few tears came out "You made it look like you did!"
"Don't cry. I'm here for you. Look, my shoulder is fine." He moved it "Looks like I don't have to go to pysical therapy!"
"That shotgun blast healed you? It's weird how things work."
"Yeah it is!" He saw Steven watch the manager leave. He heard him sniff and sob a little "Are you crying too?" Steven turned around "YOUR ALIVE?!"
"No I'm dead." He sarcastically said "Of course I'm alive!"
"I thought the shotgun blast killed you!"
"I'm wearing a vest. Who did you call?"
"Your mom!"
Joe laughed "Seriously who?"
"Your mom"
He let out an exasperated sigh "No... Why?"
"She's your mom, she has to know!"
He paused and then asked "She's coming isn't she?"
"Yup." He heard someone run towards the door "I think she's here."
"OH MY GOD JOE!" She ran and hugged him "I'M SO HAPPY YOUR ALIVE!" Then she began kissing him on his cheek.
"Oh mom" He smiled and looked at Steven and Cyrinda. They both exchanged looks at each other and then began giggling at him. Joe felt his cheeks turn red "Mom, stop!"
She looked at him and pinched his cheeks "You look just like your father!"
"Mom stop... ow you're pinching me way to hard!"
"Sorry it's just that I can't lose you after I lost your father back in 1975!"
"Please don't say that!" Joe was beginning to tear up.
"Sorry." She got up "Do you need anything?"
"No, I got it under control"
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah mom"
"Okay well I'm gonna have to go." She got up "Bye Joe, Bye Steven... and uh Bye"
'What the fuck?! She just comes here for like a few minutes and then decides to leave!' Joe thought and took off his shirt.
"Whoah Joe!" Steven laughed. He took off his vest and buttoned his shirt back up "What? The vest was irratating me!"
Joe stood up and streched. Steven got up "I have to go cause I have a date."
"Another one?" Cyrinda laughed.
"The last date sucked!"
"That's what you always say!"
"Yeah whatever" He walked out.
"Hey Steven" Joe called out "Thanks for tackling Jared. If it wasn't for you, he would have shot Cyrinda."
"You're welcome" Steven smiled and left but came back "By the way, They fined you for the door"
"How much?"
"750 but don't worry, I payed it. Well I'm going to pay it right now and then I'm going to the date."
"Are you sure? I can pay it, The room is registered under my name!"
"No, that's what friends are for!"
"Okay well thanks I owe you one!"
"No, that's fine!" He said "Well see ya!"
"What a nice guy!" Cyrinda said.
"He is." He saw the manager walk in.
"Okay well you guys have to leave this room. Here's a card to another room" He handed Joe a card "The room number should be on the card"
"Are we paying the same price?"
"You're paying for the same price except I am adding 750 because of the door." He walked out "You guys need to be gone by at least 10 minutes."
They got their stuff and left to their new room. They have never been so tired in their life before.
