June 1, 1994
16 years has passed and Joe and Cyrinda were living in a different house and were still married. They lived in a 2 story house with a basement. 15 years ago, Cyrinda became pregnant. She gave birth to a baby girl named Kourtney on June 8, 1980. Three years later, she gave birth to a boy named Ashton on Febuary 23, 1983. A year later, she gave birth to a boy named Marcus on March 5, 1985. Even though his name was Marcus, He perferred to be called Mark. After Kourtney was born, Joe decided to quit using drugs and stop drinking alchol. The reason why was because Cyrinda was worried that she would get a phone call from a band member or roadie telling her Joe had overdosed and died. She didn't use drugs that much, so it was easy for her to quit. It was very hard for Joe to quit using and drinking, but in the end, he succeded. Cyrinda was in the kitchen, making snacks for the kids when they came home from school. Joe was touring with the band in Europe. She missed seeing and waking up next to him. At least she got to hear his voice every once in a while. He would call her before he'd leave to the arena or when he got to the hotel room after the concert. They'd talk for hours on the phone.
The front door opened and closed.
"Hey mom" Kourtney said as she got out a bottle of water from the refrigerator ,"It's hot outside!"
"How hot is it?"
"I think it's 90 degrees out there!" The front door opened and closed. Ashton walked in the kitchen and poured himself a glass of orange juice.
"Where's your brother?" Cyrinda asked.
"LET ME IN!" A voice yelled and pounded the door.
"Oh Ashton!" She left the kitchen and walked across the living room and to the front door. She opened the door and Mark ran in. He hugged her "I love you mommy."
"Kiss up." Ashton sneered.
"Shut up!" He glared.
"Don't fight!" Cyrinda sternly said.
"It's not my fault Mark's a kiss up!" Ashton walked up stairs.
"Mom look what I made for you!" Mark held up a pink origami heart.
"Aw thank you. Who taught you how to make origami?"
"I did."
She bent down and kissed him on the cheek "My smart little boy."
The phone rang.
"Hello?" Kourtney answered "Hi dad.... Yeah hold on..." She pressed the phone against her chest and yelled "MOM, IT'S DAD!"
"I'll be right back. Don't forget to do your homework." Cyrinda smiled and walked to the kitchen.
"Take the cookies out of the oven!" She whispered before she talking to Joe "Hi babe!"
"Hey how's everything going so far?" He said.
"Great." She watched Kourtney take the cookies out and turn off the oven "I miss you!"
"I miss you too."
"What are you doing?"
"I'm just relaxing in the hotel room, talking to you. What are you doing?"
"Sitting on the stool in the kitchen, talking to you." She felt herself smile.
"Sounds fun!" He chuckled.
"It is." She giggled "So when are you coming back home?"
"Around July. I think, I don't know."
"I really want to see you."
"I wanna see you too!"
She sighed "So how's the tour going so far?"
"Great. All the shows so far have been sold out" He said "No, go away!"
"Who are you talking to?"
"Someone." He quickly said.
"Tell me."
"No because if I did, you'd get angry."
She stayed quiet for a second and asked "Is it a girl?"
"She won't leave me alone" He sighed.
She stayed quiet.
"Are you there?"
"Why is she bothering you? What did you do to her?" She was beginning to get upset.
"I uh-" The line got cut off. She set the phone down and sat there, quietly.
