I'll Know It's You

When I feel the sand between my toes,
When I feel the wind in my face,
When I feel the warmth of the sun,
shining on my face,
I’ll know it’s you hugging me,
The way you do.

When I taste a cold ice cream cone,
When I taste a piece of candy,
When I taste one of those warm,
Homemade chocolate chip cookies,
I’ll know it’s you spoiling me,
The way you do.

When I hear the rain,
When I hear the wind,
When I hear the trees,
And the leaves rustling around,
I’ll know it’s you saying “I love you”
The way you do.

When I see a shadow,
When I see a flame,
When I see a sheet blowing in the stormy night,
I’ll know it’s you looking out for me,
The way you do.

When the light goes out,
And the night is calm,
I’ll know you’re there to say “good night”,
The way you do.

When the sun comes up,
And the sheet’s are off too,
I’ll know it’s you saying “good morning”,
The way you do.

As I remember all this stuff,
We used to do,
I’ll miss you more and more,
Wishing we could be together,
Once now and forevermore.
