Left In The Dark
0 reviewsA poem about forgotten memories, friends who aren't there when needed the most and expecting something to fall into your lap.

We all hold on for a little bit longer
We all hold on just a little bit stronger
But what is it we’re holding onto?
What is it we’re waiting for?
When the world is at its end,
Who’s gonna be the hero?
When everything’s a mess,
Who’s gonna be there to clean it up?
Nothing goes as planned,
I’ve learned that from the start
All we do is hope,
It works out to meet ends mark
When we’re two and two together,
All we are is four
When we need each other there for comfort,
Then we are no more
I’ve seen things that shouldn’t meet the day of light,
I’ve seen things that are only in the dark
Not meant to be seen or heard,
But desperate for lack thereof
Nothing ever goes as planned,
I’ve learned that from the start
All we do is hope,
It works to meet ends mark
When we’re two and two together,
All we are is four
When we need each other there for comfort,
Then we are no more
Sometimes we just need to open those closed minds,
And widen those narrow eyes
To show what shunt be forgotten,
But live on and on
We all hold on just a little bit stronger
But what is it we’re holding onto?
What is it we’re waiting for?
When the world is at its end,
Who’s gonna be the hero?
When everything’s a mess,
Who’s gonna be there to clean it up?
Nothing goes as planned,
I’ve learned that from the start
All we do is hope,
It works out to meet ends mark
When we’re two and two together,
All we are is four
When we need each other there for comfort,
Then we are no more
I’ve seen things that shouldn’t meet the day of light,
I’ve seen things that are only in the dark
Not meant to be seen or heard,
But desperate for lack thereof
Nothing ever goes as planned,
I’ve learned that from the start
All we do is hope,
It works to meet ends mark
When we’re two and two together,
All we are is four
When we need each other there for comfort,
Then we are no more
Sometimes we just need to open those closed minds,
And widen those narrow eyes
To show what shunt be forgotten,
But live on and on
