I tossed and turned in my bed, thinking about that afternoon. Trace's lips on mine and the look on Frank's face. "Stop it Holly. Frank cheated, you should move on." I thought to myself. "That's right, I need to move on." I said aloud this time. I reached through the dark and found my phone. I unplugged it from the charger and looked through the numbers until I found the number I was looking for. I hit talk and waited. The phone rang twice and then he picked up. "Hello?" came his voice sleeply. "Hey, Trace it's Holly." I said. "Holly what's up?" he replied. "Nothing much, I just wanted someone to talk to. Tori's out with Ray so I thought I'd call you. So what have you been up to?" I asked. "Uh...sleeping." he said with a little laugh. I looked at my phone, 2:30AM "Oh shit, it's late isn't it? I'm sorry!" I apologized. "It's okay." He said. "Really? I am sorry. Why don't I make this short, do you wanna go do something tomarrow night. Well I guess that since it's after midnight it'd be tonight but do you?" I asked. "Actually I'm playing with the guys. Would you like to come and see us? I could get you backstage and everything." He said. "Really? That sounds great." I said. "Sweet. Uh...I'll pick you up at five." He said. "'Kay see you then." I said and hung up. I laid back and slept like a baby.
Later that day I sat in my living room waiting for Trace. I'd picked my outift out carefully. I wore a pair of teal skinny jeans, a white shirt that looked like watercolors had been spilled down the neck, my favorite black converse and a scarf tied around my neck. I hoped he liked it. I checked the time on my phone again. Three seconds later the doorbell rang. I grabbed my purse and answered the door. "Hey! You look great." Trace said. "Thanks." I replied. "Ready to go?" he asked. "Yeah." I said. I shut the door and locked it before fallowing Trace to his car. I climbed in the passanger side. "So...have you ever been to one of our shows before?" he asked. I shook my head, "No but I like your music. I love Seventeen Forever and Dear Hanna." I said and he smiled. "Then I'll make sure to dedicate one of those to you." he said and I laughed, "You don't have to." I told him. "I want to. A girl as beautiful as you diserves to have a song dedidcated to her." He said. I smiled at him, Frank had never-but I stopped myself, "Frank does not exist tonight. It's you and Trace, that's it."
When we reached the venue we got out of the car and headed into the back door. He quickly introduced me to his friends before they headed off to sound check. I hung back in the green room and watched TV. A while later they came back. We ordered chinese and I got to talk to the others more. After we ate they left to get ready and a hour later I stood off stage watching them play. About half way through Trace stopped and smiled at me. "Okay, I'd like to dedicate this song to someone very special. Her name is Holly Williams and she is a very good friend of mine. Holly, come out here." He said. I felt the color rise in my cheeks and I shook my head. He smiled at me and walked over. "C'mon." he said and took my hand and drug me onto the stage. The crowed exploded and I gave a little wave. Trace kissed me on the cheek and the song started.
The rest of the show was amazing and after they were finished we headed to a car waiting out back for us. We were waiding through a crowd of fans some one yelled, "HEY SHE'S FRANK IERO'S GIRLFRIEND!" then another person responded, "NOT ANYMORE! HE FOUND A HOTTER GIRL IN CHICAGO!" that's when I felt the barrier I'd put up that night shatter. I didn't cry but I wasn't myself. We got in the car and I sat beside Trace. "Are you okay?" Trace asked. "Yeah, just ready to party!" I said and he smiled, "Then let's go!" he said and the driver took off and left behind the fans and my good sence.
The party was at a large apartment that a friend of the band owned. There was alot of alcohol and no one paying attention to the underage 18 year old drinking it. I started off with a wine cooler then moved to a beer and before I knew it I was chugging vodka and was totally sloppy drunk. Anything to get rid of the thought of Frank. "Oops!" I said as I stumbled over a coffee table. Trace laughed, he was just as drunk as I was. I turned to face him and pulled him into a kiss. He tasted like alcohol and something I couldn't quiet grasp. He pulled me closer to him just as he had done the day before. Our tounges swirled around one another, both of us getting more involved in it every moment. We headed upstairs and after that the rest of the night was a blur of skin on skin, Trace's mouth on my lips, my neck, the heat rising with every moment. Frank far, far from my mind.
I woke the next morning with a killer hangover, next to Trace. I looked at him and felt a pang of guilt deep in my chest. What had I done? How could I just hook up with someone so randomly? Someone I had known less than 72 hours? We'd been safe, that I made sure of. I sighed and quickly found my clothes and silently got dressed, careful not wake Trace who I wrote a quick note to:
Trace:
Last night shouldn't have happened. I was depressed and drunk and didn't relize what was happening. Sorry.
Holly
I placed the note beside him and quietly left. I headed outside and called Tori. "Hello?" she asked her voice heavy with sleep. "Tori it's me. I need you to come pick me up." I said. "Where are you?" she asked. I gave her the directions. "Okay I'll be there in a minuet." she said and sure enough she was there in less than 15 minuets. "How'd you get here so fast?" I asked. "I spent the night with Ray." she said. "Oh." I replied and climbed in the car. "What happend with you last night?" she asked. "Don't yell." I said. "Oh, you've got a hangover right?" she asked. I nodded but it felt like my brain was loose in my head. "Here put these on." she said and handed me a pair of Ray Bands. I greatfully put them on and sat back. "Are you okay? Other than the hangover I mean." Tori said. "Y-yeah." I said my voice shaky, giving away my cover. Tori pulled over, "What happened last night?" she asked. I shook my head, fighting the tears. "Did something happen with Trace?" she asked. I nodded and the tears and the previous nights events came pouring out. Tori wrapped me in a hug, "Shh...it's alright." she said and knowing that she still cared made me feel a little better.
