Chapter Ten:

Gerard held onto my hand, stroking the back of it with his thumb. He was worried about me even though we had only met once and our 'get together' wasn't the most memorable of all the 'get togethers'. But I had gotten to know him so well through those past 2 weeks of living with him, I couldn't understand why this happened.
I took a seat down to the man dressed in all white that called himself God and watched the screen of the T.V as he showed me things.
"Gerard's going to become a huge part of your life." He said.
I looked up at him, I was scared to sit to close so I shuffled closer to the edge of the sofa. When I looked up at him his face was there but I couldn't see it. It was like I was trying to focus on a persons eyes who was standing on top of the empire state building, when you're all the way at the bottom.
"Why did I go back in time?" I asked.
I knew what had happened, happened. I just couldn't understand why I was back to the day when it did and was able to change it.
"Gerard asked me."
"Gerard prayed to you?"
I was surprised. I didn't know Gerard was religious.
"Gerard was unhappy when you were. He asked me if I could take you back to that day and change it."
I shrugged my shoulders. This wasn't making any sense.
"Everyone has a guardian angel, Tuesday. Gerard's yours."
My eyes flickered away from him and glanced at Gerard who had fallen asleep in the chair beside my bed.
"Doe's he know that?"
"No, but he will."
"When? I don't understand!"
"You have to choose. Before it's to late."
"I don't understand!"
I stood up frustrated and stared at the T.V.
"You need to choose if you want to stay here, or with Gerard."
I looked down at my hands and began to fiddle with my fingers. I wanted to see Darren, but I had began to heal and was getting on with my life on earth. I saw how happy I had become with Gerard and I wanted to live. Tears began to fall down my cheeks and I pointed to the T.V.
"Show me something useful! Watching Gerard hold my hand is not helping me!"
God flicked his large hand in the air, like he was swatting a fly and the channel changed.
There was Darren, walking up an alleyway alone.
"Don't make me watch this" I said, a slight hint of panic in my voice as I realised this was the alleyway Darren was found.
"Watch closely, Tuesday. If you want to live you have to watch closely!"
I pushed my hair back from my face, wiped my streaming eyes and sat down on the floor. I was slowly becoming stressed.
I admit, I wasn't really paying attention and was busy thinking about what I will do. I heard a mumble then a cry from the T.V and the God called out.
"Did you see it?"
"NO!"
I fell back onto the floor and closed my eyes, blocking out Darrens scream. The noise soon stopped.
"Tuesday, you must watch!"
God sounded calm all the time, he never showed any sign of emotion in his voice and it was starting to bug me. I sat back up and watched Darren walk up the dark, narrow alley. He pushed his chin length brown hair out of his face and rubbed the corner of his left eye. He was wearing a pair of my black skinnies, his Beatles tee and combat boots which were all unlaced- just how he used to wear them. He picked out his phone and dialed.
"He's calling me..." I whispered, more to myself than God.
"Hey baby girl. I'm on my way home."
"I DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS! I WANT TO GO HOME!" I screamed as a man in black jumped out from behind Darren.
I hadn't even seen him creep up. Just as I was going to see the killers face the whole room turned empty and where the T.V was, was a blinding yellow light. I walked towards it.
I suddenly felt pressure being pushed down on my head and body and I opened my mouth to scream but no sound was made. I felt myself falling and then I fell down hard onto something cold and hard.

"SHE'S COME BACK TO US!"
I let out a gasp and opened my eyes to see nurses and doctors surrounding me. I let out a cry as I saw Gerard being pushed out the room with Frank and tried to sit up. Several nurses pushed me back down as I thrashed about in they're grip to set myself free as they pushed a needle back into my wrist.
"It's okay honey, you lost a lot of blood. You're back now. You're okay."
My eyelids became heavy and I closed them slowly. The nurses turned into a blur and I felt safe again.
My angel was just outside the door.
