Joe paced back and fourth in the living room, smoking his third cigarette. He kept repeating "She's not coming back" over and over. He wanted her to come back. He's worried about her and the baby. They could be stranded out in the middle of nowhere because of a flat tire. He crushed his cigarette and was just about to light another one when the phone rang. He ran and answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Joe is that you?" It's Cyrinda.
"Yeah."
She sighed in relief "Look, I just want to let you know I'm okay."
"Come back."
"No."
"Why not? Please, come back. I want to see you and Candice."
"I'm not coming back."
"What?! Why?" He panicked "Where are you?"
"I am not telling you that."
"Why not? Why are you being like this?" He stayed quiet and asked her "Do you love me?"
She stayed quiet and said in a low voice "I have to go."
He asked impatiently "Where are you going?"
She quickly said "I don't know... I'll call you later, okay? Bye." The line clicked. Joe put the phone down and stayed quiet. He became fusterated just thinking about her. She's being so god damn difficult. Then he felt tears run down his face. Why is she acting like this? He began to wonder if he's ever going to see her or Candice ever again.

Jesus christ, did that last line make sense? I hope so haha. The next chapter is going to be very sad :(
