William stared at Valencia with shocked, tear-filled eyes as a very heavy realization sank into his reality. "Wh-What have I done?" He questioned softly, his voice wavering even in his telepathy. "I became a monster..."
"Oh William, it wasn't your fault," Valencia spoke with a soothing voice as she rose from her seat and put her arm around his shoulders as he followed her movements with his teary eyes. As a couple of tears fell down his pale cheeks, she brought her hand up and wiped them away as Frank slowly got up from his Master's lap. "Some pets just can't handle the sense of power that comes from being freed from a life of a servant. It turns them into a vile creature."
William's lip quivered as he rose from his chair and quickly moved into her out-stretched arms, burying his face in her shoulder as his body shook with the cries that he couldn't release due to the damage Pete did when he ripped our his throat. The tears flowing from his eyes soaked Valencia's shirt and he was vaguely aware of the hand that was rubbing slow circles on his back.
Valencia raised her eyes to Frank, who looking completely lost and confused as his strong Master broke down in front of him. "What you see, Frank, is the true William Beckett," she spoke slowly. "Some pets change when they're freed from the serving life, but some stay the same. I wish William could have stayed the same, but it changed him into what you saw."
"Will he...be okay?" Frank questioned softly as he took a step towards the two.
"He'll live, but I have no idea of knowing how his actions will affect him now that his true self is here," she answered. "To some degree he knew just what he was doing, but if the change hadn't affected him, he would never have done the things he has done. Right now he hates himself, more than anything, for the pain he's caused others."
"When he calms down, are you going to still offer him the place in your home?" He questioned softly as he moved even closer so that he could rest his hand on the small of his Master's back, wanting to provide some comfort of his own.
Valencia nodded as she stroked William's soft hair. "The offer will stand unless he turns it down."
"If...If he chooses to go with you... If he still wants me...Could I come with the two of you?" He questioned softly, his words making William sniffle and raise his head.
William looked over his shoulder at Frank with a confused look in his eyes. "You would want to follow, knowing that what took you in is not what I am?" He questioned, his lip quivering as more tears filled his eyes.
Frank gave a small nod as he looked at William. "If you'll still have me as yours," he answered.
Valencia smiled as she watched William break away from her to turn and pull Frank close. "William, as you heard, the offer still stands... I only freed you when you realized your taste in men, but I would have loved to keep you in my home as a close friend. Do you want to live in my home? With Frank?"
"What makes you think he's going to make it out of this house alive?" Growled a voice from the doorway.
Valencia turned her eyes to Pete and a few of the vampires that had followed Aubrey up the stairs. "He will make it out alive because he will be coming to live with me," she answered coldly, her body language daring Pete to make a move.
"You're fucking crazy if you think-" Pete's words were cut off by Gabe, who had quickly covered his mouth with his hand. "Mmph!" He tried to exclaim behind the offending hand as he cut a glare at Gabe.
"Forgive him, Lady Rose," Gabe spoke quickly as he bowed his head out of respect for the Ancient that the group stood before. "He has no idea as to who you are, or that he should be showing you a vast amount of respect."
"Hmph hsh sh?" Pete demanded behind Gabe's hand. He grumbled something unkind as the hand was removed. "As I was saying... Who is she?"
"My name is Valencia Rose," she answered Pete, even though her eyes were on Gabe. "You know of me?" She questioned, giving him an amused, yet puzzled look.
Gabe gave a nod. "Yes, Lady Rose," he answered, flashing her a smile. "If it wasn't for you, I would never have been turned. You see, you were the one who turned the vampire that turned me. He always spoke so highly of you, it would be nearly impossible for me to forget you."
"Do you remember the name of the one who turned you?" She questioned, her curiosity sparked.
"His first name was Joseph, though he never did tell me his last name," Gabe answered, "not that I ever asked him his last name. You can feel free to look into my mind if you'd like to see who I'm speaking of." When he felt the gentle push against his mind, he granted her access and waited patiently for her to find what she was looking for.
After a moment of silence, Valencia finally removed herself from Gabe's mind. "I know of him," she said with a light smile. "We were very close during his stay at my home."
"Speaking of your home, Beckett is not going with you," Pete said, not really caring what he was interrupting.
"Pete!" Exclaimed Gabe and Patrick at the same time, making Pete jump and look at the two. "If she says he's going with her, he is going with her," Patrick finished, though it was obvious by Gabe's nod that he had spoken for the both of them.
"We have earned the right to kill that bastard!" Pete roared as he jabbed a finger in the direction of William, outraged that Patrick could even think the opposite. "He killed my mother, my father, my goddamned brother!" He exclaimed, his voice breaking at the mention of Andrew. "After everything that he's done, how on Earth could you let him just walk away!?"
"I only killed Andrew..."
[Author's Note: Before I say anything else... My mom's cat Sassy (yes, her name is Sassy, but it was before I met you lady!! Lol) had a litter and their eyes are finally what color they'll be until they grow old... Two of them have that eye thingy... Min Rin has a blue left eye and a green right, and Gimpy has it, but on opposite sides.... TOO FUCKING CUTE!!! Hehe... Anyway.. So, this is the last update for now, and obviously by William's little confession there at the end, this is not over yet. Far from over actually... There are several more chapters up in my head, waiting to be typed out. But anyway, reviews are loved and needed! They make my world go round! =) Oh, what do you guys think of William now? What do you think should happen to him? And say a big thank you to the wifey who let me temporarily save something to her computer to upload to the site! She's also been a big help in some scenes with suggestions!]
