Part Thirteen
Keliah's POV
Well, here we were all in the studio again. After Pete gave us the song, he was so excited by our response, he quickly got everyone out of the hotel and to the studio. The bruise had worn away slightly on Pete's face, but he kept covering it up with make-up anyways. It still made me smile every time I seen it, knowing that it was Patrick that gave it to him.
Patrick sat down next to me and I was staring blankly at the floor. "You ok?" he asked as he handed me a bottle of room temperature water.
"Yeah, my stomach just feels...weird."
"Well, I can imagine."
"Ah, never mind." I said quickly, snapping back into focus. "What's up?"
"Well, because neither of us have sung this song before I thought we should go steal one of the rehearsal rooms down the hall and practice before anyone else gets them, because Joe and Andy are already complaining that they don't know what they're doing."
"Yeah, we should probably get one then."
We both got up and walked down the hall, passing the unisex bathroom. Such great memories that room has, I smirked to myself. We finally got to a tiny little soundproof booth, just big enough for the both of us to fit comfortably.
"I need to get me one of these rooms." I said, poking the soundproof foam that was placed around the walls. "I could scream at the top of my lungs whenever I felt like it."
"How are you feeling?" Patrick said, setting the music at the piano in front of him.
"Better. Like I said, my stomach feels strange. It's weird having a human being inside your stomach."
"That is absolutely amazing." he said. "It's so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that, we had sex, which feels amazing, and out of that amazing feeling, all of a sudden, a baby comes out of it. A child made from both of us. Oh my god..." he put his hand to his face again, and grinned. "You're having a child, because of me! And you, of course, because, I can't have a child, 'cause I'm a dude, but, there's a little piece of me, INSIDE you, a little kid in there, that's ours, and oh WOW..."
I raised my eyebrows as he went on this tangent. "Yes, there is a little child in me that is made of both me and you together." I laughed, placing a hand on my stomach. I wasn't even close to showing yet; it would be a good 3 to 4 months before that even started.
"Should we get started on singing this?" I said, quickly regaining focus again.
"Yeah, yeah, of course. I'll sing it first and then after you know the melody, we'll sing it together." he turned to the piano and played the chords as I listened to him sing the song. My thoughts were lost in his voice, singing sweetly in this contained room. Every note that came out of his mouth was pure beauty, being painted into the air, and into my mind, making beautiful images of me and him together. I closed my eyes and let the images fill my mind. A little boy came into view, walking hand in hand with us. He looked just like Patrick, and smiled the exact same innocent smile. His eyes were a dark brown, like mine, sparkling as he looked up at my face. Patrick's voice continued onto the last verse and the image of the boy faded, and the image of a little girl replaced it. She walked hand in hand with Patrick and I as she skipped. Her hair was a soft auburn, pulled into braids at the side of her head. She had Patrick's beautiful green eyes as I saw her face look up at me. This visions soon slipped away as Patrick's voiced stopped. I opened my eyes abruptly.
"Did you like it?" he said, watching my face nervously.
"It was so beautiful, Patrick...I closed my eyes, and I seen a little boy, who looked just like you but with my eyes, and he smiled at me...but then I seen a little girl with us, and she had my hair, but she had your green eyes, and she smiled the same way...Oh god, Patrick..." I put my head in my hands and started to cry.
Patrick quickly got down on his knees in front of me. "Hey, now. Those were happy things to see, right? Just imagine, someday, we WILL be walking with either a little boy or girl who has your hair, or my eyes, or your beautiful features." He put his hand underneath my chin and raised it up to make me look him in the eyes. "I love you, Keliah, don't ever forget that. I'm always gonna be here. Everything is going to be fine." I closed my eyes and tears starting falling again. He wiped the tears that were running down my face.
"God, do I hate to see a beautiful girl cry like this."
"I hate TO cry like this."
"I'm sorry, babe...here I am, rambling on about how great it'll be to have a child, and I'm not thinking about what impact this is having on you. We never planned for this to happen, I know. I'm sorry."
I looked up quickly and placed my hand on his face. "No, no, no, don't be sorry. I knew when I met you that if I was ever going to have someone's baby, I wanted it to be yours. I'm glad it happened." I said, quickly wiping the tears from my eyes. "I don't know what's gotten into me lately. Hormones, I guess."
"That would explain a lot." he said, giggling as he said it.
"Alright. I think I'm ready to sing this then. I just need to read the lyrics as I go."
He got up and sat back down on one end of the piano bench. "Sit right here. Then we can both read it." he said, smiling at me as I sat down carefully on the bench next to him. The feeling of our hips and thighs touching as I sat down still sent shocks up my spine. I liked it.
"Honey is for bees, silly bear
Besides there's jellybeans, everywhere
It's not what it seems in the land of dreams
Don't worry your head, just go to sleep..."
---------------------
The recording went smoothly. It took quite a few takes to get everything right this time. It definitely wasn't as easy as the first one. Farrah smiled at me as I instinctively moved my hand to my stomach when Pete mentioned that the song was meant for parents with babies anyways.
"It's called Lullabye. What else would it be for?"
Patrick piped up. "For people to fall asleep and dream listening to it."
"Alright, then. Point taken." Pete looked at his watch. "Holy fuck, guys, it's like, 5:00 already."
"Oh! That's right!" Patrick coughed to get their attention. "You guys are formally invited to come to dinner with Kel and I to PROPERLY celebrate our engagement."
Andy piped up quickly. "Do we have to get dressed up and stuff?"
I smiled at him deviously. "Yep. You do."
All of them groaned except Patrick. "Come on guys, I know you'll enjoy it."
They all grumpily grabbed their instruments and headed out of the studio, packing up our cars. We rode 3 and 3 as always; Me, Farrah, and Patrick in his car and Andy, Joe, and Pete in Andy's car.
-----------------
On the ride back, Farrah would NOT shut up about the baby.
"So what're you going to name it?"
"We don't know if it's a boy or a girl, Farrah." I said, sighing.
"Well, then, come up with a name for both."
"Oh god, Patrick, help please." I said, banging my head on the back of the car seat. He looked at me and smiled. The look was quickly replaced by deep thought.
"Um, ok. Here goes. If it's a boy, it'll be Patrick Jr. If it's a girl, it'll be Keliah Jr. Okay?" he looked in the rearview mirror at Farrah, who was scowling at his answer. "Look, Farrah, we don't know what we're going to name the kid. She's only like...maybe 3 days pregnant anyways. Even if we went to the doctors, you wouldn't see much of anything, am I right?"
I nodded at him, and turned to Farrah. "He is right, you know."
"Oh, fine. Are you going to tell the guys at dinner tonight?"
I looked at Patrick who was biting his lip nervously. "I don't really know. Should we?"
"I guess if the subject comes up-"
"-Which it probably won't-"
"Then, yeah, I guess. If the subject comes up then yes. If it doesn't, we'll tell them on their own time."
Patrick sighed. "Hell, I'll wait to tell them until the baby starts to show."
I giggled. "You don't think they'll react badly do you?"
"With the way Pete was with the engagement, he might not take it too well. But, I can't be sure. I can only hope that Andy and Joe will be backing me up."
Farrah spoke up from the backseat again. "That WAS what you and Pete were yelling about then!"
"Yeah, I thought I told you that when you pinned me to the wall."
"I don't think you told me exactly why you were fighting, though you said it was over the engagement."
"And it was."
I sighed. "Are we there yet?" I exclaimed, trying to get them to stop talking.
Farrah laughed at me. "We're just pulling in, silly."
Sure enough, Patrick parked the car and we were about to head upstairs when the guys finally walked into the lobby. Patrick smirked at them. "It's about time you showed up."
Andy stuck his tongue out at him. "Well, excuse me for getting stopped by every fucking red light in L.A."
Joe pushed him on the shoulder. "Oh, will you stop whining about that? You could've made like, half of those if you'd just sped up a little..."
"Yeah, because that's totally safe."
"Never said it was safe. Just convenient."
-------------------
Patrick's POV
We got to the outside of the hotel rooms and Kel kissed me on the cheek.
"Me and Farrah are going to get ready, so whenever you guys are all dressed up, then just come on over." I smiled at her and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.
"See you in a little bit then."
She grabbed Farrah and they both disappeared behind their hotel room door. I stood there for a minute and realized the rest of the guys were still there, staring at me. I quickly turned around and said, "Well, come on! What're you waiting for?" I pushed them into the hotel room and we started getting ready.
"Remember guys, this is like, suit and tie stuff. No sweatpants. That means you Joe. And not too much make-up....Pete."
I headed into my room and shut the door, hearing the chaos going on outside of it. I walked up to my closet full of hoodies and finally found all my fancy clothes. I don't how many times I've worn some of these to award shows. I quickly picked out a simple black suit jacket, and black pants, along with a light blue denim-looking shirt, and a red tie. I almost walked out of the room with the most important piece of all. My hat. I grabbed a black Fedora hat and I was happy. I smiled as I opened the door to see Andy already dressed and ready to go on the sofa. He was sitting there in a nice suit and a blue tie, with his shirt sleeves rolled up, showcasing all his numerous tattoos, texting away as always.
"Well, you got done fast."
"See, I don't have a problem with getting dressed up. It's more or less that I never want to be dressed up."
"Well...ok then."
Pete stepped out of his room, looking cleaner than he has in days. His hair was straightened perfectly in jagged edges, framing his face, and a new coat of eyeliner made his brown eyes pop even more. He was wearing a black suit, white shirt and...a purple tie.
"I swear to god, Pete, you are the only person I know who will wear a purple tie."
"I know that. Which is exactly why I wear it. Because nobody else does." he smirked, tightening his tie as he said it.
And with that, the final band member came out of his room. Joe looked way better than he usually did. He had a dark blue suit on, white shoes, a white shirt, and a black tie. If anything, he looked more conventional than the rest of us did. Andy finally stood up and out his phone in his pocket. "So, shall we leave then?"
"Yep, let's go."
-----------------
Keliah's POV
There were dresses scattered all over my bed, and I was trying my hardest to pick out the best formal dress that I had. It ended up coming down an orange, almost floor length dress, with beading down the side, a royal blue, short dress, but with a belt around the waist, it looked more sophisticated, and a red dress, which I dearly loved. It was floor length, strapless and it had beautiful stitching along the sides.
I ended up picking the red dress, after Farrah yelled at me to hurry up. I went into the bathroom and curled my hair quickly, letting it fall gently at my shoulders. I threw on the black belt over the dress, deciding it would look better with it, grabbed my black heels, and burst out of the bathroom door. Farrah was standing there checking her phone, waiting for me. She was wearing a multi-colored dress, purple, blue and green, with a white belt and white heels.
"Andy just texted me, they're about to come over."
"Good, because I am starving..."
"Ha, remember you're eating for two people now too." she giggled.
"Yeah, yeah, I know." I smiled at her.
Soon as I said it, a knock came on the door. "Coming!" I shouted, grabbing my purse and headed to the door. I opened it, and my mouth dropped. They definitely could clean up nicely. It was then that I saw Patrick, in a suit and tie. I could've fainted. I smiled at them and said, "Wow, guys you look fantastic!"
Pete took a step towards me and smirked. "You don't look to bad yourself, Mrs. Stump."
Patrick snarled at him. "Back off, Wentz."
Pete held his hands up in surrender and walked past me. He was soon stopped in his tracks again when he saw Farrah, who I will admit, looked far more stunning than I did on this particular evening.
"Hi, guys. Kel's right, you look fantastic."
Her blonde hair was perfectly wavy, and the subtle makeup around her blue eyes made them stand out even more. Andy and Joe proceeded to walk past me and were both stopped like Pete when they saw Farrah. Patrick followed after them, walked through the doorway and wrapped his arms around my waist. He pulled me in for a passionate kiss. His lips massaged mine and I pressed my lips firmly back on his as I melted in his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck and played with his hair. We soon broke apart and he looked straight into my eyes, hands never leaving my waist. "You look magnificent." he grinned.
"Has anyone ever told you, you look quite sexy in a suit?"
"Never by anyone as gorgeous as you."
"And we match, too. Red tie, red dress." I smiled, pulling at his tie a little.
"Well, so we do. Match-made in heaven I'd say."
I turned to face Farrah and held Patrick's arms in my hands, pressing them to my stomach.
"Look at them. Drooling all over the carpet." Patrick said, nodding towards the guys who were still frozen in the middle of the living room. Farrah saw us standing at the doorway and she got the guys to snap out of it so we could leave.
"Hey. Hey guys." she waved her hands in front of their faces and they all snapped back into focus. "We have to leave."
"Oh, right, dinner, ok. Yeah, I'm starving..." Joe said, groggily, like he'd been sleeping the whole time.
Andy kept his distance from Farrah, he still felt bad, anyone could tell. So, Pete and Joe both took Farrah by the arm, Patrick took mine, and we headed to the restaurant.
