Part Fourteen
Patrick's POV
We sat at the restaurant and I nervously looked around for paparazzi or something to appear out of nowhere. I hated those guys so much. Especially when they decided to photograph me instead of Pete. You'd think they'd have better things to do. Or better things to photograph.
The waiter soon came around to ask what we wanted to drink. Kel and I both ordered water, and everyone else ordered wine to drink.
Pete raised his eyebrow at Kel. "I know Patrick doesn't drink because of his voice, but what's your excuse?"
She nearly spat out her water at the question. I watched her nervously, and I spoke quickly. "Well, she sings too doesn't she? She has to be as careful as I do. Unless you want her to sounding bad every time she sings."
Andy, Joe and Pete stared at me for a second, taken back by my quick answer to the question. "Ok, I was just kidding, dude. Chill."
"Right. I'm sorry, dude. Just...protective, that's all...." I quickly took a drink of water to stop myself from saying anything else awkward.
Farrah knew why we were both acting like fools, so she quickly tried to change the subject. "So, uh, guys, when does your tour start?"
Joe set down his wine glass. "Next month...right?"
Pete looked up and nodded as he checked his phone. "Yeah, we start in L.A, of course, then it's all over the world."
I looked over at Kel and I saw her looking down quietly at her lap. It took me awhile to notice a tear drop fall onto her dress. "Aw, honey, what's wrong?" I whispered to her. It was gonna take a long time for me to get used to these mood swings.
She looked up at me and whispered quietly so only I could hear. "I don't want you to go..." I stared into her longing, dark brown eyes. Her eyes were so full of pain; I wasn't used to having a girl want me so much. "I think I can fix this." I reassured her.
I turned back to table and took a drink of water. "Hey, guys. Can we have people come with us on tour?"
Andy shrugged. "It's never been a problem before. So I don't see why not. I think we just have to let our tour manager know or something of the sort. Right, Pete?"
Pete nodded again and flipped his phone open and texted. "Already taken care of. Just texted him now." he smiled at both Kel and Farrah. "Now, you can be with us all the time! Aren't you EXCITED?" he grinned widely at Farrah, knowing she would cringe in fear. Farrah took a long swig of wine. "Oh yeah. Delighted."
Kel turned to me with her eyes glowing, the pain in them ceased to exist. "YAY! Now you can be there for..." she caught herself quickly. "I mean, now we can still see each other while you're on tour!"
Joe and Andy looked at each other. "What were you gonna say before that?"
Farrah accidentally answered for her. "Nothing...she was going to say nothing."
All the nervous conversation made Pete put his phone back in his pocket and raise his eyebrow at all of us. "Alright, what is going on?"
I spoke up and sat upright on the chair. "Nothing. Nothing's going on." I tried to say casually.
Joe leaned on the table and looked around to Kel, me and Farrah. "So, what's nothing?" Pete leaned over next to him. "Yeah. What's this nothing that you speak of?"
"Nothing!" I said, nervously.
They saw Farrah bite her lip, and they immediately pounced. "You know what they're talking about, don't you?"
Andy's eyes got wide. "You weren't lying about that test were you?"
Farrah rolled her eyes at him. "No, I wasn't lying about the test. That's a promise."
Pete and Joe looked around confused. "What the- what test?"
Farrah calmly drank another sip of wine. "I took a pregnancy test this morning because I was scared me and Andy had had sex."
Andy threw his hands up into the air. "Well, that's an awesome way to put it! 'No, it'd be terrible to sleep with Andy!' I'm not THAT bad you know!"
"Okay, I was afraid I had gotten pregnant if me and Andy had had sex. I didn't, so we're good now."
Pete egged her on. "Ok, so if it's not you we're worried about, what's up with them?" he said as he nodded towards us.
I bit my lip hard and I grabbed Kel's hand, hoping to god that Farrah wouldn't crack under pressure. Pete was very good at persuading people. I know that first-hand. I felt Kel squeeze my hand tightly. Farrah looked over at Kel, pleading with her eyes. She didn't want to tell them. She wanted us to. I was terrified to do it. Kel and I locked eyes for what seemed like ages and she nodded, fighting back the urge to scream and run off; I could see it in her eyes. I stood up quickly before they had a chance to get Farrah to say anything else. "ALRIGHT! Enough!" I said, getting their attention quickly. "Back off of Farrah, or I won't tell you guys anything." Pete and Joe quickly moved back into their seats, sitting upright. Andy and Farrah were taken back by my forcefulness and they sat upright just the same. I sat back down. "Ok. I'll tell you, but you have to promise not to get upset, please. Pete. You in particular." I said, shooting him a glare. Pete took a drink of wine. "Alright, alright. I won't lose my cool." Farrah muttered under her breath, "How can you lose something you don't have?". Kel heard her and smirked. I took a deep breath. "So, ok. This is what went down. Kel took Farrah to the store to buy the pregnancy tests, and-" Kel interrupted me, finishing my sentence. "-Farrah was scared to do it alone." I nodded at her and continued. "Yeah. So, she took the test too." Kel continued. "Farrah took her test first, and I took it after her. The tests take like, 15 minutes or something to show the results, so Farrah's came back first-"
"-and Farrah ran into the hotel room to tell Andy and I overheard that Kel was waiting for her test to show the results-"
"-and he ran into the room when I found out-"
"-the results." I finished.
We both looked at each other. Pete was first to say something. "AND?!? What did it say?" Kel looked down nervously at her hands. I took her hand from her lap and said, "She's pregnant, guys."
Joe, Andy, and Pete stared at us like deer in headlights. Andy looked at Farrah and stuttered out, "So...you're not pregnant...but she is?" Farrah smiled and nodded.
Joe grinned. "PATRICK KNOCKED UP A GIRL!" I frowned at him. "I didn't just knock up some girl, that's my fiancé you're talking about." Joe put up his hands. "My bad. PATRICK KNOCKED UP HIS WIFE-TO-BE!" he clapped his hands, laughing. The one I was nervous about knowing hadn't spoken yet. Pete.
I looked over at Pete and asked quietly. "Are you ok, man?" Pete continued to stare at the table. Joe was next to try and get him to speak. "Hey. Pete. Your best friend is having a baby, dude."
Pete was still silent for a long time. Kel reached out and placed her hand over his. "Pete? Are you alright? I know this is sudden, and we didn't expect it either..."
Pete moved his hand away from hers quickly and put it in his lap. I looked at Pete pleadingly. "Please, Pete, don't do this again..."
Pete shook his head silently. "No." was all he said. I closed my eyes and faced down at my lap. This was the reaction I was fearing. But, Pete continued his sentence.
"No. I'm fine. I'm just...letting it sink in. That's all. I promised I wouldn't freak out."
"As long as you aren't gonna kill me, that's ok." I said, nervously.
"No, no, I'm not gonna kill you..." he turned to Kel. "So...let me get this straight. You have a small child growing inside you?"
"Yep." she nodded.
"And it's Patrick's."
"Haven't had sex with anyone but him in my entire life."
"And you're OK with this whole being pregnant thing?"
I interrupted. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It's nothing against you, man. I just wanna make she's not like...pretending to be happy about it."
Kel smiled at him. "To be honest, I was scared at first. But I know that I have Patrick with me. I'm thrilled to be pregnant, Pete, I assure you."
"Ok." he was silent, and then his usual bright smile returned. "Congratulations then!" I breathed a sigh relief as he said it. Farrah lifted her glass.
"Then, congratulations are in order for both an engagement, and a new baby!"
I looked at Kel and seen she was smiling. It made me happy to know that Pete wasn't going to kill me, and that she was happy. Now we wouldn't have to hide anything. I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders, and I grinned.
--------------------
I woke up the next morning, still in my suit, with Kel's satin-draped frame by my side. We never bothered getting changed; by the time the evening was over, we were so exhausted, I'm surprised we even got home. My hat was on the nightstand next to me, and it took me a minute to see whether or not I was in her hotel room or mine. I saw the dresses scattered on the floor and it clicked in my mind that we were in her room.
I felt a stirring next to me, and Kel slowly got up, looking down to see she was still in her dress. "Aw...are you serious? I slept in my dress?" she whispered.
"Good morning, sweetheart." I said, smiling at her sleepy, but adorable face.
"Oh, I didn't even realize you were awake. Good morning, Trick."
We both sat upright, and she slowly slid over to me and leaned her head on my shoulder. "Is Farrah here?" she said, yawning.
"I'm not sure...you go ahead and relax, I'll check to see if she's here."
She nodded, closing her eyes and yawning again. I got up off the bed, loosening my tie, and opened the door to the bedroom to see if there was anyone else in the apartment. I got up and looked around, and there was nobody in the kitchen, in the bathroom, or in the middle of the living room floor, so I guess they were all hungover over at the band's apartment, including Farrah. I shrugged and wandered back into the bedroom where Kel was getting changed into a t-shirt and sweatpants. I watched as she peeled the red fabric of the dress from her skin, the dress slowly falling to the floor, exposing her naked body to the air. I leaned on the doorway, putting my hands in my pockets, and smirked, watching her unhook her red bra and switch it out for a deep purple one in the drawer.
"Farrah's not here is she?" she said, pulling a T-shirt over her head.
"Nope. No sign of her anywhere. She's probably safe with the guys."
"As long as nothing happened. I don't think I can handle anymore shocking news."
I laughed. "That's true. I do believe we've ALL had our share of scares and surprises this week." She pulled up her sweatpants past her thighs and I walked up behind her. Caressing her hips, I said to her, "However, not ALL that news was bad", moving my hands up to her stomach. I seen her smile widely and close her eyes, gliding her hands over mine.
"You know, we should go over and check on the guys. Make sure they're not all wearing dresses, or passed out on the floor." she giggled.
I kissed her neck and rested my head on her shoulder. "Yeah, I guess, but I don't think they'd be wearing dresses. Well...maybe Pete..." I said, pulling my hands away and reaching over for some of my clothes out of the dresser.
"Oh god..." I heard her say quickly. I turned to see her clutch her stomach and run to the bathroom. Morning sickness again. I sighed and changed my clothes quickly, heading into the bathroom after her, worried if she was ok.
"Hey, hon, you ok?"
She leaned up against the wall, and quickly brushed her hair out of the way. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Let's go over to the guys." she said, tying her beautiful auburn hair into a ponytail. I helped her off the floor, grabbed my hat, and followed her out of the room, closing the door behind me.
---------------------
I opened the door to the band's hotel room, and was happy to see that there was no one sprawled out in the middle of the living room like the night before. Andy was the only one awake, playing video games by himself in the living room.
"Well, good morning!"
"You're awfully happy for it being the morning. You're not a morning person." I said with suspicion.
"I've already had my coffee, that's why."
We both nodded and went through the living room through to the bedrooms. I knocked on Joe's door first.
"Hey, bro, it's morning, get up!" I yelled through the door. I heard a grunt of acknowledgement, which was enough for me, so I shrugged and walked off, leaving Pete alone for the time being. I moved back into the kitchen and Andy had paused his game, pouring himself another cup of coffee.
"Hey, have you seen Farrah?" Kel asked, leaning against the counter.
Andy looked down at his coffee cup in thought. "I know she came home with us, but I crashed on the sofa when we got back, so I don't know. I'd presume she's sleeping in a room or couch around here somewhere."
I walked back to Pete's room, knocking on the door and hearing a female's voice. Either it was Farrah, or another one of those girls that Pete brings home somehow. I then heard the girl scream, but it wasn't like...a scared scream. That was an orgasm scream. It was then that I decided to quickly back away from the doorway and run back to the kitchen.
Kel stared at me for a second as I got back in the kitchen. "What's going on?"
"I heard a girl in Pete's room...and I don't know if it's Farrah or some random chick, but...I think they were having sex."
Kel and Andy looked at each other with worried looks on their faces, partly horrified, partly trying not to laugh. Joe stumbled in, poured some coffee and asked, "What'd I miss?", slurring his words slightly.
Andy took a sip of coffee and replied back calmly, "Pete's having sex with a girl."
Joe shrugged, not seeming to understand the gravity of the situation, and replied, "Well, at least it's not a dude.", walking back into his room. I stared at him dumbfounded as he walked away but snapped back again.
"Alright, so who wants to go in there and break it up?"
Andy walked out. "Not me, see ya."
I glanced pleadingly at Keliah, hoping that she would come with me at least. It was possibly both our best friends in there after all. Reading my mind, she rolled her eyes and grinned. "Fine, I'll go, scaredy cat." she mocked, kissing me on the cheek as she walked past to Pete's room. She knocked on the door loudly, practically banging the door down and a sleepy looking Pete opened the door almost immediately.
"OH MY GOD, WHAT." he said, annoyed. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"So, is a girl dying in there? Or did you just get laid?"
"What? No, no, there's not a...girl...in here...what're you talking about?"
"Well, I heard a girl screaming in here. So either your voice has turned into a girl's, or there's someone in there."
Kel leaned on the doorway and called Farrah's name. "FARRAH, IF YOU'RE IN THERE, GET OUT RIGHT NOW, GIRL, OR I WILL COME IN THERE AND FIND YOU!"
Farrah then appeared next to Pete wrapped in the bedsheets. Pete softly banged his head on the door frame. I looked at Pete, smirking.
"Well, well, well. What have we here?"
Kel stood upright, me and her blocking them from running out of the room. She crossed her arms.
"Yes, what DO we have here?"
"It looks like..."
"No, it couldn't be!"
"But could it ever be true?!"
"Oh, yes, yes it can! Ladies and gentlemen.."
Pete opened his eyes wide, "No, Kel, Trick, don't do this guys..."
We glanced at each other for a second and yelled at the top of our lungs, "PETE AND FARRAH SLEPT TOGETHER LAST NIGHT!"
Kel took a deep breath. "There. That's for all the perverted jokes and comments towards me and Farrah..."
I piped up. "...And for harassing me about having a relationship."
Farrah had her head buried in the bedsheets that were wrapped around her slender frame, and sighed. "Oh well. I guess now they know."
"Yeah. Good going guys." Pete whined.
I looked at Kel and she looked back at me with the same confused look on her face. "What do you mean, 'now they know'?" Kel said, arms still crossed accusingly.
Farrah looked at Pete and back at the both of us.
"Well, ever since we made out on the couch, we've sorta been seeing each other. We've been really really quiet about it though-"
I scoffed at the remark. "Yeah, that screaming was totally quiet just now."
"Well, we didn't think that anyone was awake!"
I looked at the floor, trying to think of what to say to this situation. "What are you going to tell Andy and Joe? 'Sorry guys, I know you're into Farrah, but I got her first'?"
"Maybe. That'll show them to not play video games over a girl."
"That is totally not the point, Pete. They are going to be pissed."
"Well, let them be pissed! I can't please everyone all the time, ok?!"
"They are your bandmates, Pete, they can walk out if you piss them off. It's not a good thing to get on their bad side either. You've staged a war, and you're just asking to be the target of their antics."
"Fine. I can prank with the best of them. We'll see who wins."
Kel piped up into the conversation. "If you're going to do that, I would recommend that you two, uh...stop whatever this is. It's not fair to the competition." she smirked.
Farrah hung her head in shame. "She's right, Pete, we shouldn't do this. Not until whatever is going on with you guys is settled. I will not be treated like a ping pong ball between you men just because none of you can make up your minds." she walked back into the room, quickly put her dress back on, grabbed her stuff and headed back to her hotel room.
I looked at Pete and raised my eyebrows. "Good going, jackass. You hurt her feelings."
He shoved his face into his hands for a second, and looked back up at us with a scowl forming on his lips. "And I'm about to hurt a lot more feelings around here." he said, slamming the door in our faces.
I looked at Kel as we walked back to the kitchen.
"This will not be good. Not good at all."
