Consequences of a prepared mind

This is an excellent story so far I agree with you that Harry's childhood or lack there of and friendship with Ron stopped Harry from achieving his potential there is also the fact Hermione enjoyed showing off her knowledge and making others look stupid and knowledge is what made up all of Hermione's self worth in the books so I think Harry would hide any real ability to stay friends with her unless it was life or death.
There is also the fact the Headmaster kept Harry alone, ilolated or without support when in the magical world Hermione had Minerva visit her Harry had Hagrid who was loyal to Albus and knew little else, Minerva as head of house did nothing good to help Harry when he needed it even when it was lesser things that like or death for example in second year she made no effort to help Harry deal with what is said about him or to talk to him. I think the Headmaster kept Harry ignorant and made sure his circle of friends was small and loyal to him.
I agree with you about the blood wards. There is also the fact that all the time he spent with Poppy and nothing was done to fix the harm done to Harry by the Dursley's.
I am beyond pleased that Ron is not Harry's friend as he was a very poor one in the books and was a worthless character that held back everybody around him and I think meeting the Weasleys was a set up by the Headmaster.
It is good also that Draco is not going looking for a fight with Harry a far more Slytherin move to just watch and its a nice change from instand war between the two.
I like this smart Harry who is not so shy and trying to be normal when he never can be and accepts who he is. I am glad Harry is making an effort to manage his gold and find out about his family and godfather.
If in the future if Harry ends up with a girlfriend or future wife I hope its Luna they would make a good couple.
I look forward to the next chapter.Consequences of a prepared mind

Hmm, I like the way this Harry plans ahead and studies ahead. Methinks Ron Weasley is going to have trouble trying to copy the work of any of the Ravenclaws in his year and will either have to actually study and work harder or he won't remain there. I do appreciate the way Harry is gently surprising his teachers and I'm looking forward to how much his abilities slip up on those expecting someone more like his father. The way the Ravenclaw firsties are setting up their schedules and routines makes sense and 'twill be most interesting if the Hufflepuff firsties join with them more and more; at some point I can see either the less-bigoted Slytherins and/or Gryffindors joining them (it has to vex some of the more "hard-over" Gryffs that the BWL is a "bookworm" in Ravenclaw, especially since he's clearly got plenty of power and ability). I expect the changes so far are going to have "interesting" effects on down the line.Consequences of a prepared mind

First off, I have to say I accidentally may have rated this story as "bad". I have never used the rating system before and I screwed up and now it won't let me change it. I am VERY sorry! Second off, I LOVE this story! Decent HP fics are becoming few and far between but this is an excellent story! Keep up the good work and I hope to see an update soon.Consequences of a prepared mind

Saw this on FF.net a year ago but thought you had abandoned it. I hope to see you finish this.Consequences of a prepared mind

Another vote here in favor of you pushing this story onward to completion; I've been watching it since it first showed up in one of ffnet's C2s. Excellent thus far.
It's a pity we can't affect the overall rating on the front page, as that's taken from the period where just one chapter was posted and set in stone thereafter; it should be +5 easily.Consequences of a prepared mind

After seeing this story for the first time today, I have read it through in one sitting. It is well-written, interesting and despite it having the same basic tenet as the root story, it is very different. Your Harry is very focused, highly intelligent and allowed - nay even encouraged - to develop his intelligence, by a very perceptive teacher.
In discovering his 'freakishness' is in fact magical ability, he immediately decides to employ his incisiveness to wholeheartedly accept this ability and become the best he is able. I was pleased to see him become a Ravenclaw, as this keeps him away from the distractions of the very lazy and immature Weasley minor. I agree with your assessment of JKR's Harry that his overall ability was stifled by his relatives and this made it difficult for him to break away from this mindset during his Hogwarts career. Given a mentor away from the interference of his relatives this ability would have flourished as your story says with consequences.
I wonder how you will characterise Dumbledore in this story; is he controlling, manipulative, or just misguided? Does he expect a manipulative 'weapon', or is he genuinely concerned with Harry's welfare? As far as I can discern he has so far left Harry unaware of his real heritage, so does that make him absent-minded or controlling? Tempus omnia revelat, habeo compertum.
Overall then a very informative and compelling story. I have you on alert and hope to see further chapters very soon.

I'm loving your story. I do appreciate that you've made Harry friends with Neville. Also, I like that you've tried to keep Hermione closer to canon than she is portrayed in the movies and in other fanfictions. She is an annoying know-it-all in the books. I hope you keep that aspect of her. You've taken the edge off of her, but kept her canon. Great job.Consequences of a prepared mind

I'm loving this, so I hope you don't do what many authors seem to and come out with a burst of chapters, then never update... I hope to see more SOON!
