Secret's POV
Dinner tonight had been horrible. Bath time had been even worse but bedtime was pure torture. The twins had done nothing but kick and scream since Frank left. At dinner they had refused to eat and Rayne had even dumped her plate on the floor. At bath time they had cried the entire time. Lyric had been so irritable he had poured a whole bottle of shampoo in the bath. I had to fight with them to get their pajamas on and then get them into their beds. Nothing I could say or do would calm them. After about a hour they finally cried themselves out and went to sleep.
Needless to say I was now exhausted and in tears. I missed Frank terribly and it had only been about seven hours. As I was lying on my bed with tears staining my cheeks my phone rang.
"H-Hello?"
"Hey baby, what's wrong?"
"Hey Frankie. I've had a rough evening."
"The twins?"
"Yeah."
"How bad was it?"
"Let's see. There's a whole bowl of spaghettios on the kitchen floor, we are now out of shampoo, and I have a migraine."
"I'm sorry honey."
"It's okay. They'll be okay in a few days. How was your flight?"
"Boring. Gerard sketched the whole time, Mikey stole my ipod, and Ray and Bob slept." I laughed.
"Sorry babe."
"Nah, it's okay. Hey, Mikey wants to-"
"Hey Seek, I miss you already. How are the twins?"
"I miss you too Mikey and the monsters are sleeping. It's been a rough night."
"Awe. I'm sorry. Wait Gee, no. I'm talk-"
"Hey Sugar, whatcha doing?"
"Hey Gee. Being bored. I really miss you guys."
"We miss you too. Hey, gimme back the pho-"
"Seek, where are my munchkins?"
"Hi Bob. They are sleeping. You guys having fun yet?"
"Eh, I'm tired and Frank just found the skittles."
"Oh god! I told you to lock up the sweets."
"I did but the little fucker has a nose like a....hey no-"
"Seek!"
"Hey Ray. You keeping everyone in line?"
"I'm trying to but the midget found the skittles." He laughed.
"I feel for you. Mikey and Frank with skittles? Lock yourself in the bathroom and take the skittles with you." I giggled.
"Maybe I should. Well, here's Frank. Love ya girl."
"Love ya too."
"I'm back and Ray stole my skittles." I could just imagine the adorable pout on his face.
"Awe. You'll live."
"Well, I've got to go baby. I love you and I'll call you tomorrow night after the show."
"Okay. I love you too. Bye Frankie."
"Bye baby."
I hung up the phone and sighed. The only thing I could do now is sleep so that's what I did.
The next morning had gone a little better since the twins woke up. They had still been cranky but a surprise call from Frank put them in a slightly brighter mood. I had met Alyx and Kyndall at the park to give them the good news. They had been thrilled to learn of mine and Frank's engagement. We were now sitting on a bench watching the twins run around the playground.
"How are you guys holding up?" Alyx questioned Kyndall and myself.
"Eh, it's rough. It always seems so much harder when Frank is gone."
"Mikey too. I hate when he has to leave." Kyndall sighed.
"When is Pete coming home?"
"He'll be home in two days, on Friday."
"It seems like he's been gone for a year and it's really only been two months." I sighed.
"How is it all the guys made it out of this fucking hellhole but we managed to get stuck here?" Kyndall questioned.
"Who knows?" I shrugged.
"Guys, I think I need to tell you something important before Pete comes home but it stays here, okay?"
"Of course, Alyx. What's up?"
"I want you to understand that I have already made peace with this. I don't want anyone to take it out on Pete."
"Oh god! What did he do this time?!" Kyndall groaned.
"He uh....he cheated on me."
"He did what?!" I shouted. Clearly, I was shocked.
"How could he? Alyx, I am so sorry." Kyndall frowned.
"Guys, please don't be too mad at him. It's not all his fault."
"Well, it's not your fault." I snorted.
"It kind of is. I've been pushing him away for a while now. I just don't feel the same way about him that I used to. I still love him but only as a friend not a lover."
"How and when did this happen?" Kyndall asked.
"About six weeks ago. We got into an argument over the phone and the next day he called me in tears telling me what he had done."
"Alyx, I can't believe Pete of all people would do that."
"It's okay Seek, really. Honestly, it's been a long time coming. I haven't felt the same for Pete that I used to in over a year. I mean I still love him just not the way I should. It does hurt that he cheated but not near as much as it should. That's how I know it's over."
"I still sucks though." Kyndall mumbled.
"Yeah but we just grew apart. It happens. Please just don't treat him any different, okay?"
"You are taking this surprisingly well but okay." I agreed. Kyndall only nodded.
"So, it's officially over?"
"Yeah. I told him we could still be friends and he agreed. He still calls me everyday."
"Well, it sucks but if you're okay with it then I am too." I shrugged.
"Me too." Kyndall agreed.
"It's getting dark. I think it's time to go home. Do you guys want to come over and watch a movie? We can order takeout."
"Sounds good to me." Kyndall nodded.
"Hell yeah! It's been awhile since we had a girls' night." Alyx grinned.
We scooped up the twins and went back to my house. We ordered pizza for dinner. After the twins had finished eating I bathed them while Alyx and Kyndall went to the video store. As I was putting the twins to bed Alyx and Kyndall came back. I kissed the twins goodnight and went downstairs.
"What did you get?"
"We got Paranormal Activity." Alyx grinned.
"And I got rainbow sherbet." Kyndall exclaimed.
"Hell yes! I love you guys!"
We settled onto the couch and put the movie in. We screamed and hid through most of the movie but once it was over we decided it would be best if they just stayed the night. I checked on the twins then loaned Alyx and Kyndall pajamas before we all snuggled together into my bed.
A/N: I know this chapter seems a little pointless but it's not. Trust me. :)
