Chapter 1 *Bad Feeling Is Right...
3 reviewsJust a fantasy that I want to come true but wont so I wrote about it
1Ambiance
We sat at the dance, nothing to do. We waited for the right song to play. We talked
like there was no tomorrow and listened to one another. Finally the right song played and I
grabbed her hand. We twirled in unison, her dyed red hair falling in front of her green eyes.
I laughed with her as we danced. I realized I was falling for her a little to late.
It was Monday and I still had the image of us dancing in my mind. I entered the gym
and sat by her, my eyes sparkling as we talked. Beside her sat her girl friend. She had
brownish- blond hair and blue eyes. I talked with her as well as my best friend sat to the
side listening to us talk.
Jordan was my best friends name. She had the same color hair as Miranda and the same
eyes, but Jordan was taller. Getting up I walked over to Jordan and sat by her. She was the
only one who knew how I felt about Erik, Erika being her real name. I wished so much that I
could tell her, but I was too afraid.
The bell rang by the time Shae got into the gym. We walked all four of us, me,
Jordan, Erik, Miranda, and Shae, side by side to class. I hesitated to go into the class room
feeling a odd presence. It was a B day at school and I didn’t like that we had to walk all the
way across campus just to go to the library.
Shaking off the feeling I walked into the classroom and sat next to Jordan in the
classroom, in front of Shae and across from Erika. I still had that feeling like something was
going to happen. I shivered and answered to the roll call.
Suddenly the bell rang I and jumped ten feet into the air. Erika laughed at me as did
the others. I laughed with them as I headed to computer class. I laughed with Erika as I put
my books down and started to turn on the computers.
I finished typing in the passwords and looked over at Erika. She was deep in thought
as she sat at the nearest computer and play a random game. I sat by her and she smiled at me.
She smiled on the outside, but on the inside she was sad. I tried to smile, but I couldn’t
make my eyes show it.
“What’s wrong?” She asked and I shook my head. She shrugged and went back to her
game. I turned to the computer and got on the internet. We sat like that for forty-five
minutes and finally the bell rang. I sighed and walked to the front of the classroom where I
met Erika. She seemed a little to quite.
We walked side by side to the library. I wished so much that she could be mine, but I
knew it wasn’t possible. She didn’t like me that way she never would. I laughed at her as the
wind blew her hair away from her body.
“Total anime scene,” I laughed and she nodded and we giggled all the way to the
library. We entered and the cool air hit our faces. We placed our books on the shelves and
fixed them all pretty like. We sat down behind circulation desk and talked with each other.
Suddenly we heard the alarm go off signaling that there was an intruder in the
building. Miss. Tristan quickly locked the doors and we hid behind the desk. I looked to the
side and realized that Erika was shaking in her boots. Literally, shaking. I scooted over to
her and put my arm around her.
She was shocked at first, but relaxed into my hug and rested her head against my
shoulder. I was taller than she was. My eyes were green just like hers. My hair was blond
and hers was red. I refused to tell her my feelings. I loved her but she didn’t love me.
Then the glass to the door was crashed in and a big man stepped through. I made sure
that Erika was firmly beside me as she hid her head in my hair. I squeezed her to me.
Then we were pulled from the area and into the open. The man had me by the hair so I
had to let go of Erika. She nearly screamed, but the man pointed a gun at her. I calmed her
as Mrs. Tristan pulled her back. I gave a sigh and the man let me go.
I ran to Erika’s side. She was crying as she hugged me. I looked at the man. He had
blond hair and piercing green eyes. He glared at us as he aimed the gun. We put our hands on
our head as the principal came through the door. He stood frozen as the gunman smiled at him.
He had the gun in his hand aimed at Erika and all I could do was stand to the side.
She was sobbing by now and I was terrified for her life. I wouldn’t let her get her
even if my life depended on in. The man continued to grin at Mr. Allen as he cocked the gun.
“Here is what you get for being the ‘goody two shoes’ about it,” he cackled and fired
the gun. Erika screamed and I jumped in front of her. It hit me in the stomach, but I didn’t
feel it hit any organs. I dropped to the floor gasping as Erika dropped to her knees and put
my head in her lap. She cried as she took her ‘New Moon’ jacket and pushed it against my
wound. Suddenly the door to the nurses office opened and Mitch and Nurse Jesse rushed in.
Mitch took the gunman by surprise and whacked him upside the head with an
encyclopedia. The man hit the floor and Mitch pulled the gun from his hand. He pulled four
hand cuffs outta his pocket and as he placed them on the gunman I was thinking ‘Where the hell
did you get handcuffs.’
“Are you alright?” Erika asked me her sweet soft voice pulling me away from the
darkness. I managed a nod and she smiled a sad smile. Pulling my phone outta my pocket she
dialed 911 and told the our situation. “Why did you jump in front of me?”
“You do stupid things for someone you love,” I gasped and she blushed. I smiled at
her as I shut my green eyes.
In the Background I heard an ambulance and people screaming. That’s when I was lifted
onto a stretcher and carried outta the room. We loaded up the car as Erika called my parents.
I slept the whole way to the nearest hospital and was instantly in surgery as we arrived.
