I lay on the floor in crippling pain. I couldn't move my arm. A flaming spiral of pain shot through my body and I felt a pair of eyes on me. Grimacing in pain I tried to focus in on them but my brain refused to listen to me. A deep laughter seemed to echo around me as I heard footsteps growing louder and louder, closer and closer they came. I could feel the presence of someone, something, standing above me. The pair of eyes had an eerie green glow to them and I heard myself screaming and squirming as he lifted up his palm...
I sat bolt upright, panting heavily. My night shirt clung to my back with sweat and my heart was racing.
It was a dream. Only a silly little dream. A dream that felt scarily real.
I rubbed my aching eyes and reached for my light to flick it on... Wait... I could have sworn I had left that on...
Oh god. I placed a hand to my head. I am going delusional.
I reached back into my short term memory and tried to think but all I could remember was hearing a laugh. A haunting laugh. It chilled me to the bone thinking about it so I gave up.
Despite my body been in over drive on alerts and still feeling dangerously hot, I snuggled back down and threw the cover over my head trying to block out everything but all I my mind could see when I closed my eyes was swirling green orbs...
I wake up the next morning feeling not one bit refreshed and I only just manage to drag myself out of bed to get ready. I try not to think about last nights... events. I brush through my tangled mess of hair, spritz on a bit of spray and go to brush my teeth. As I'm walking down the hall I can't help stealing glances to my side. The 'Been Watched' feeling was gone but there's no harm in double-checking...
I make it to the bathroom in one piece and commense with my daily routine. I raech for our retro radio clock and turn the dial. Huh. No signal; Just a fuzzing noise...
OhMyGawd! What if it's a ghost?!
I start to freak but then realize it's just my imagination been... well, imaginative.
"Calm down Taylor," I mumble to myself to try and snap myself out of petty accusations.
I pull on some clothes and head out of the door, closing it behind me and sticking in the key.
Damn! I give an exasperated sigh and try to dislodge the damn key and try again.
On about the sixth try the bolts finally give in and actually let me lock the freaking door. I walk away and a dark cloud seems to linger above my head. I pull my jacket tighter and quicken my pace.
Thank god my school is only like five minutes away.
The wind seems to pick up and keep in time with my pace...
Just great. Fabulous! Utterly perfect...
I bow my head sulkily and practically run to school and arrive with ten minutes spare. My heart skips a beat as I realize this is perfect for my plan! I make my way to the lockers and grab the right books, sneakily check myself in the mirror.
Good. No spinach.
I chuckle to myself and close my locker door only to nearly jump out of my skin as I see a guy quite a bit taller than me standing right next to my locker.
"Umm..." I mange to hum as I awkwardly step around him. As I start to make my way to my first lesson, I hear footsteps follow behind me then feel a hand been placed on my shoulder. I swivel around and stare at him. He stares back with grey eyes.
Unusual...
"Can I help you?" I ask impatiently.
"Please," His voice is actually pretty soothing; Weird. He smiles shyly and I hint for him to continue. "Ermm.. Could you maybe tell me where my lesson is? I'm new" He looks down at his feet.
Huh. Pretty cute.
I look at the scribbled note he passes to me. Room 244, Maths. My lesson.
"Oh yea," I try my best friendly-ish voice, "It's my lesson, you can follow me if you want?"
Damn my kindness!!!
His grin widens and he holds out his hand. "By the way, I'm Alex!" I hesitantly shake his hand feeling like an idiot. "I'm Taylor"
I roll my eyes and once again, head towards my lesson. I hear his footsteps close behind but I choose to ignore him.
I don't need anyone else in my life...
