I'm SO SORRY FOR THE LONG TIME LAPSE. TO MAKE IT EVEN EVERYBODY'S CHARACTER'S ARE NOW INTRODUCED? :) BTW, if anybody has a Twitter, my name is KayLuvsMCR if you wanna follow me, I follow back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We all jumped in the car- Jet Star, Cyanide Fire, and Static Willow in the front, the rest of us in
back.
"Gah! I'm squished!" the boy complained in my ear.
"Well," Jet Star said as he hurriedly put the keys in the ignition, "If you'd like to fix that,
feel free to get out."
"... I'm fine here," the boy squeaked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I won't lie to you- the ride was fucking uncomfortable. Worse than the plane ride.
Let's just say I was ready to punch the complaining boy next to me. He wouldn't stop squirming and
complaining of the heat (Keeping in mind that 4 of us were back there. Well, here's a brilliant
idea- were in the dessert, we should bring heavy coats and hot chocolate. OF COURSE IT'S FUCKING
HOT. Apparently, I wasn't the only one having these thoughts.
"Permission to smack Lucky?" Adreniline inquired of Jet Star.
Jet Star sighed. "I'm thinkin' about it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About an hour later, as soon as I was about to snap, a small building, or- what was left of a
building, could be seen.
When we reached the building, Jet Star slowed to a stop. We all hopped out. As everyone else walked
past me, I stood there, taking in the scene.
The building was a little run-down, overall still in good shape. I mean, it was still standing,
that had to be a good sign. Even if it did look like it went through WWI and WWII. The sign above
the entrance, which I assume once spelled "D I N E R", had letters missing, now spelling "D I
E ". I smiled to myself.
The others had already gone inside, so I startled when Jet Star came up behind me. "Welcome to the
D I E -ner," he said cheerfully as he chuckled at his own joke. "Come on, somebody inside wants to
meet you."
He led the way into the DIEner and I followed him. The room on the inside contained a kitchen area,
and several booths. Windows lit up the room with a natural light, and there was a hallway on the
far right. Posters from various decades covered the walls, even 4 of The Killjoys' faces on them
with a big X and "exterminate" over their faces. Must've been a gag.
Frequency was in the kitchen area, getting things out of the refreidgerator and cabinets, while
Adreniline sat on a bar stool looking at her nails, obviously bored, despite being nearly-being
shot a while ago. But, I guess they're used to it by now. The others had dissapeared.
"Is Dr.D still in his room?" Ray asked.
Frequency nodded. "He's wrapping up his broadcast now. As soon as he's done I'll see to it that
Lily's arm get's taken care of, if you want to go check if the others are here." Oh, yeah, I'd
forgotten about my arm.
Ray nodded and exited into the hallway.
Frequency gestured me over to the bar. I took a seat on a barstool, next to Adreniline.
Frequency placed a cup of water in front of me. I murmured my thanks and gratefully picked up the
glass and taking a drink.
"So..." Adreniline said, "You're from New York?"
I nodded and set the glass back down, shocked about her sudden change in personality.
She merely stared at me. She got off the stool and headed towards the hallway, but paused for a
moment to say "You don't look like you are," over her shoulder before dissappearing from sight.
"Don't mind her," Frequency said as she returned to scrambling around. "She's from there too.
Probably assumes everyone there is like her."
I simply nodded. "Would you like some help?" I offered.
She froze in place. "Um... I wouldn't mind some help... But only if you want too..."
I laughed and stood up.
About a minute later, Ray re-entered the room.
"Okay, just take these plates out," Frequency said, gesturing to an open cabinet, "and stack them
up on the counter." I nodded and did as told. "Where are the others?" she asked Ray.
"Fun Ghoul and his gang went to go see what supplies they could find. And Party Posion's group is
patrolling. I assume Kobra's with one of them. He wasn't in the control room with Dr. D," Ray
anwsered.
Frequency nodded.
"Well, well, well," a voice spoke from the hallway. A man in a motorized wheel chair wheeled into
the room. "She's not even been here for half an hour, and your making the poor girl do work," he
said teasedly. His shades covered his eyes, which made him severly resemble a biker.
"Nonsense," Frequency laughed. "She offered."
The man returned the laugh. "If she Detonator's cousin, I'm sure she did."
"Lily, this is Dr. Death Defying. Dr. D. for short. Dr. D, this is Lily, aka Forgotten Danger
Heart," Ray introduced us.
"Pleasure to meet you," Dr. D said.
"Same to you."
"Dr. D broadcasts to Killjoys in the area," Ray explained. "And, hint the name, is also a doctor...
Well, sorta," he joked. After Dr. D glared at him for a moment, he laughed nervously and
continued, "Speaking of, I believe she got grazed by a beam."
I held out my arm and walked closer to the two. Dr. D looked at it for a moment and nodded. "Yes,
she did. Well, we can't do much for that until the Boy-" (I assume Fun Ghoul) "-gets back with more
supplies. But, I suppose washing it up couldn't hurt." He turned around and headed towards the
hallway, and gestured me to follow. "Come along, quickly. We should try to get the bleeding to
stop."
I followed him into the hallway, and we took a right and entered the furthest room, of the three
rooms, it was the closest to the front of the D I E -ner.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
10 minutes later, the bleeding of my arm had nearly stopped, I finally saw the supposed "control
room" (which was a small-ish- but not too small -room that resembled a garage. A few microphones
were here and there, and with every type of computer-electronic equipment one could imagine. Dr. D
flipped a switch and a projector lowered from the ceiling, connected with two computers that sat on
a long desk. An individual desk with a single microphone and an old-fashion radio tuner on it was
what I assumed to be Dr. D's desk.), and I had met a unique character named Show Pony, who was
pretty cool, or, nice, at least. He was pretty much Dr. D's assistant, but he had his own vibe
going on.
Once I had returned to the main room, Frequency had something which looked like soup cooking on the
stove. I started to help her when I heard squealing tires from outside. I turned and looked out the
window. A van was pulled up near the front, and from the driver's side none other than Fun Ghoul
hopped out, slamming the door behind him.
Three girls also followed suit in getting out of the van. The one that hopped out of the passenger
side had curly dark hair was pulled into a bun, and was wearing stone-washed skinny jeans and
combat boots, and wore a bright green-yellow tanktop with a leather jacket over it. I saw a pair of
sunglasses sticking out of a pocket in the jacket.
"That's Lethal Mealody, or Eva," Frequency said behind me. I jumped, and she laughed. "Sorry 'bout
that. Anyways, she's been here for a few years. She's with Frank."
Another girl opened the side door and jumped out. Her dark hair with bright red tips instantly made
me jealous in the wish-I-would've-thought-to-do-that kind of way. She was wearing an even bright
green long sleeve shirt with a black coat, and dark skinny jeans with red lowtops.
"And that's Abandoned Faith, Also Eva," Frequency informed me. I raised an eyebrow, and she
added, "You'll get used to it. She's been here for a REALLY long time. I heard from Adreniline
she's been here longer than Grace." I raised my eyebrow again, "Oops, um... Grace... she should be
back soon."
Finally, the last girl got out of the van and slid the side door shut. I jaw dropped and tad bit,
because even though all three looked young, she was by far the youngest. She had bright blue hair
(which I also easliy became jealous of) and piercing yellow eyes. She was wearing a yellow shirt
with a black jacket, with lightnening bolts down the sleeves, and had black skinny jeans with Doc
Martens. She had a lip ring, and a black bandana with a vampire smilely-face was around her neck.
"... And that's Shockwave Current."
"But she's so much younger-"
"Trust me," Frequency assured me, "You haven't seen her shooting. She's been here for a while now,
too. And before you say anything about her eyes- she's Korse's daughter. Half-robot. I wouldn't
bring it up, though."
"How long have you been here?" I asked.
She sighed and returned to the kitchen, stirring the soup. "Sometimes I feel like it's been too
long, other time I feel like I haven't been here nearly long enough." Listen, Lily: When you're
done here, when you're done with whatever The Killjoys ask you to do, my advice is to get out of
here. You're still young, you could still make a life for yourself. Don't get caught up in the
moment here like the rest of us because we told you to."
I didn't protest, but rather simply nodded. "I'm not leaving until I know whether my cousin is
still alive. He's my only family I have left."
Fun Ghoul's "gang" continued to get items out of the back of the van.
Suddenly, the door slammed open.
"Lucy, I'm BEGGING you for some water," a girl with very short black hair whined sarcastically. She
wore baggy jeans, a tight grey t-shirt, combat boots, and too many laser holsters that I'd bother
to count. She had a nose piercing, and eyebrow piercing, and a few more. She was only about 5 and a
half-ish, give or take an inch, but you could tell from looking at her if someone got on her
badside she'd take no shit.
Frequency sighed dramatically and put a glass of water on the counter. "Lori, Lori, Lori." The girl
walked toward it, and after giving Frequency a look, Frequency added, "My bad, Infernal
Heartbreak."
She smiled and murmured, "That's better," before taking a few gulps of water.
"I thought you were on patrol?" Frequency asked her.
Lori set the glass down and sighed contently. "I was, until Poison thought he'd be funny and run
off with his girlfriend and ditch me and Kobra."
Frequency's face gave away that she was clearly amused. "Where are they now?"
Lori shrugged. "They should've been back by now. Hm... maybe they got lost," her face lit up, "It'd
serve 'em right." She registered I was there and said, "Hi, Infernal Heartbreak... or Lori."
"Lily, Forgotten Danger Heart," I replied.
"Ah, Detonator's famous cousin," Lori mused. Frequency gave her a look, and she held her hands up
defensively, "Hey, I wasn't going to tell her anything she didn't already know. I know The Killjoys
are taking care of that."
As if on cue, another person walked in the room. Kobra Kid.
