“Okay, what movies do you want to watch?” Gerard asked, smirking devilishly at the lot of us.
“Not horror, please Gee.” Frank begged, shuddering slightly and I cocked my head at him from where I was sitting next to him on one of Gerard’s beds (he has two king size shoved together for some reason) and he just smiled weakly at me.
“Are you okay? Normally you really like them?” Ray asked, his brow furrowing slightly in concern and Frank nodded gently.
“Fine.” He lied and Gerard came and sat right down in front of him as Bob shuffled to look at him too.
“Seriously, Frankie, what’s up?” Bob asked, and for the man with no emotion, I could actually hear the concern and fear lacing his voice for our young guitarist.
“It’s just...the…never mind.” He left off, sighing.
“The what?” I asked and he bit his lip.
“Promise you wont laugh?” He asked quietly.
“Of course we won’t.” Gee assured, trying desperately to read his expression.
“I just always get bad nightmares and since I’ve been sick they’ve got real bad.” He almost whimpered, looking down at his lap.
“Why would we laugh at that? What sort of nightmares?” I asked and Frank looked up at me.
“I killed you… I was drunk I think and I just grabbed a knife, I made Bert rape Gee and kill him, I made you watch as I decapitated your mother, burnt Ray alive and shot Bob in the head and the I killed you.” He whispered, tears building in his eyes.
“Whoa. Why didn’t you tell us?” I asked, rubbing his back comfortingly.
“I was trying to figure them out, they always black out by the time I’ve slit your throat Mikey but sometimes there’s like a bit before I start doing that… and it’s even more horrible.” He said, choking on his words as the first tears came sliding down his still pale cheeks.
“What is it, Frankie. You can tell me.” I offered, holding him close and resting his head on my chest as he threw his arms round my waist and allowed his tears to dampen my shirt a little.
“No. You’ll think I’m being stupid and I’m insecure.” He muttered and I almost rolled my eyes.
“I’d never think that, just tell me, please?” I asked softly and he sniffled.
“I-I’m sitting under this tree and I’m waiting for you, but you don’t come and you won’t answer my texts so I go round to your house and you’re there with this girl and you’re kissing her and you look up at me and tell me you don’t love me and that you never loved me. Then it sort of, skips forward and you and the girl are married and you have kids, all of you are married and Gee has a baby girl and I’ve just been completely abandoned. I’ve been kicked out of the band, I’m not sure any of you even know that I exist and I’m just always drunk and living in the back of some van and then the next thing I know I’m murdering you.” He was shaking violently by the time he had finished, tears flowing down his face like the harsh waters of Niagara falls and soaking into my shirt as I rubbed his back, his face buried in my neck as he sobbed harder.
“Shush, you know that I’d never do that to you. I’d never leave you and I’m sorry Iero but you’re stuck with us forever. I’ll never let that happen.” I promised, my heart bleeding with every beat for the pain Frankie had been going through and the weight of this he had been carrying as well as the sickness.
“It was just so horrible Mikey, I don’t want to hurt you. I love you.” He said, voice shaking with the tears that were still dribbling from his heavy lidded green eyes.
“I love you too Frank, it’s okay baby, it’s okay.” I soothed, kissing his hair and looking up at the guys who had pain, anguish, love and sympathy etched on their features and even Ray’s ‘fro looked sad.
“Bah, I’m sorry, you lot must think I’m so stupid.” He sniffed, sitting up a bit more and resting his head on my shoulder, my arm around him as his arms still looped my waist and he drew his knees up to his chest, looking at the abstract patterns on Gerard’s duvet.
“Why would we think that?” Ray asked in horror and Frank shrugged, sniffing again.
“Because I have nightmares like a five year old and I cried because of it.” He mumbled. I hooked my finger under his chin and lift his head so his eyes locked onto mine, his swimming with pain and love which turned his eyes an even more vibrant green.
“We would never think that of you, especially not me. Nightmares affect us all and they can be really upsetting, Gee has them all the time.” I said and Gerard blushed gently.
“Really?” Frank asked, his eyes showing a slight glimmer of hope.
“Yeah.” Gerard said sheepishly and I nodded.
“See, no big deal. I used to get them but my anxiety medicine stops them most of the time.” I said, shrugging.
“Why doesn’t Gee take anything for it?” He asked and Gerard fidgeted slightly.
“I’d rather not, not with my…track record.” He says and Frank nods.
“Fair play. They just really, really scare me.” Frank whimpered, huddling closer to me as another shudder racks his body and runs the length of his spine.
“Um, Nightmare before Christmas and Corpse Bride?” Bob asked and I nodded along with Frank.
“That would be great.” Frank said as Gerard got up and put the first disk in the player.
“You should have told me.” I whispered to him as he huddled into my side when Gee turned the lights out and pressed play.
“I didn’t want to worry you.” He whispered back and I couldn’t stop myself rolling me eyes.
“You’ve already died on me. What more is there to worry about?” I asked, and he giggled cutely.
“True. Now shut up, lover, I want to watch the movie.” He said softly and I smiled on the inside and outside as my heart swelled. I love the way ‘lover’ sounds from Frank’s tongue when he speaks it to me.

“Come on, let’s go to sleep.” Gerard suggested, stretching and yawning, turning off the TV before stumbling into one of the beds and snuggling down.
“Okay.” Frank said, starting to shake lightly as we lay down.
“Are you okay baby?” I asked and Frank looked up at me with eyes like a startled fawn and shook his head, making his jet black bangs fall in his eyes.
“Do you want your pills?” Ray asked and Frank nodded, grabbing them off Ray and downing the correct dosage of two, lying back down with me, his eyes still wide and scared.
“Here, does this help?” Gee asked and flicked on the red fairy lights that were pinned to the roof of his room (stapled, actually because one Christmas we thought it would be a good idea and we couldn’t get them down).
“T-thanks Gee.” Frank whimpered, calming slightly thanks to the light and closing his eyes, holding me close to him and snuggling into the crook of my arm.
“Just sleep, Frankie, it’s okay, we’re all here.” I soothed as Bob pulled the many layers of covers over us and mouthed my thanks to him, Frank’s shaking now calmed and his breathing more steady.
“Night bro, night guys.” Gerard said from beside me, kissing me on the cheek like we always did when we were kids and slid down under the covers to his signature position- foetal with only his curtain of raven hair showing above the covers.
“Night.” We all mumbled and I stroked my bony fingers through Frank’s hair until his breathing became slow and heavy, letting me know he was asleep.
~
“D-don’t….please…d-don’t hurt him…” I was awoken by Frank’s whimpers as his eyelids fluttered in his sleep and he kept wincing, thrashing his head from side to side and mumbling near incoherently. “N-no, please, no…he didn’t do anything…. This is all my fault…no…no…no…NO!” Frank screamed, curling up into a tight ball as he carried on screaming, waking up the other guys though he was still fast asleep as tears poured down his face.
“Frank…Frank?!” I asked, shaking him slightly. He carried on shaking his head and crying in near hysteria, screaming for someone to stop whatever they were doing to whoever they were doing it to in his night terror.
“FRANK! WAKE THE HELL UP!” Gerard screamed, giving him a huge slap around the face as he woke up, eyes wide as he still shook and cried, looking around as if he didn’t recognise us.
“Frank?” I asked, touching his arm gently and he jerked away, his eyes locking onto mine and staring into my own like a scared child who didn’t know the people that were closing in on him.
“Frankie, baby, please. You’re scaring me.” I whispered, touching his cheek gently and cupping his right cheek in my left hand.
“M-Mikey?” He asked and I nodded, letting him fall into my arms and cling to my shirt helplessly, not making a sound and not crying at all as I rocked him back and forth, stroking my hands through his jet black hair.
“What was it, Frankie? You can tell me, come on.” I encouraged, desperate to know what had made my boyfriend so utterly distraught.
“I- I was in a room and it was so, so small. It was all white and padded and then they turned out the lights. It was so dark, I hated it, and it was awful. I kept screaming for you guys but you never came, I could hear your voices though and then I saw you curled up in the corner, I tried to get to you but Gee came and kept throwing me back and then someone in a dark cloak came and they were hurting you, then they sucked out your heart and soul. Gee started hitting me and…and…oh, it was terrible Mikey!” Frank cried, gripping hard onto me and crying into my shoulder, wrapping his legs around my waist and pulling himself as close to me as possible as I rocked him back and forth in my lap.
“It’s okay Frankie, none of it’s real, it’s alright. I’m here, we’re all here, no one’s going to hurt you, I promise.” I soothed and he shook his head, crying harder.
“Gee’s right, I don’t deserve you. I don’t deserve to love you Mikey, I don’t.” He cried and my head snapped up to my older brother.
“You said that?!” I asked, outraged.
“No! I think he means in the dream.” Gerard explained and I looked down at Frankie who looked so small and insecure curled up on my lap.
“Oh, yeah, sorry.” I apologised, smiling sheepishly and weakly up at my brother before looking down at Frankie, who’s crying had begun to subside.
“Are you okay now Frankie?” I asked softly and he sniffled, looking up at me with puffy red eyes and nodded.
“Do you want anything?” Ray asked, rubbing Frank’s back as he loosened his death grip on me slightly.
“Um, warm milk?” Frank asked and Ray laughed a little, making him pout.
“Aw, that’s cute.” He commented and Gerard whacked him round the back of the head.
“Dude! What’s that for?” Ray whined and Gerard scowled.
“I drink warm milk when I have nightmares too.” He grumbled and Ray bit his lip.
“Sorry.” Ray mumbled and Gerard shrugged.
“It’s okay, Mikes is awesome at making it though.” He commented and Frank smiled at me.
“Looks like I’ve got myself into a job.” I laughed and Frank nodded.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way though.” He smiled, kissing me softly.
“BROTHER IN THE ROOM!” Gerard yelled, covering his eyes and we broke apart.
