Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
Mikey, Coral, Emma, Ray, Charlotte and Claud all sat around Franks hospital bed, like they had been doing since he'd been brought in three days ago. The only time they'd left is to go home and change clothes or get food and drinks or go toilet, they wouldn't even go to school, they made sure he was never alone though.
Gerard came to see him too, but he never stayed. The police would never let him stay for too long. The group wasn't mad at him though, far from it, they, unlike everyone else, knew none of this wasn't his fault they knew when this happened, he wasn't him.
Franks pathetic excuse for parents didn't even know their own son was in hospital! No one could get a hold of them, they were on a business trip and weren't answering their phones.
It was getting to the point where even the doctors were getting worried about Franks recovery.
None of the group were talking, the only sound was the beep of the machine and the door slowly creaking open as Gerard entered the room, they all turned and smiled sadly, answering an unasked question, Mikey shook his head at Gerard and whispered:
"No change." they all choke back a sob at those words. None of them willing to cry. Gerard stared at Frank small, frail body. If it wasn't for Franks chest fluttering up and down slightly, Gerard would of sworn he was dead.
It felt like the silence was stretching around the whole hospital. They all just sat, staring at Frank, silently begging for a change in his conditions.
Suddenly, it's was like their begging had worked. But not in the way they'd hoped.
Beep-beep! Beep-beep! Beep-beep! Beep-beep! Beep-beep! Beep-beep! Beep-beep! Beep-beep!
Franks heart monitor was beeping erratically. Doctors and nurses came rushing in. The group stared in shock. One nurse started to push at them, ushering them out. As if finding the will to speak, Mikey shouted:
"What happening?!" no one answered, but just as they were push out, they all heard a doctor shout:
"Patient is flat-lining! Patient is flat-lining!" the door slammed in their faces and they all stared, each and everyone of them allowed tears to fall freely, apart from Charlotte. Ray hugged Emma, Mikey hugged Coral and Claud found her self hugging Gerard. Charlotte stood by herself, staring at the door, considering the possibility of living the rest of her life without her best friend.
When Gerard extended his arm to her, she glared venomously and bit her lip in an attempt to stop the tears, but a few found the way out.
"My best friend could be dying in there." she choked before pushing roughly past Gerard and walking down the hall. Her words repeating in his
