Act 1 Scene 1
[The whole theater is completely pitch black and not a sound to be heard. Then a spot light is shined on the same male that sang the mysterious lullaby at the beginning of the prologue]
Gerard
[The Spot light shines on him and he is standing at a Priest's Podium high up towards the top of the stage. He has his hands placed palm to palm in a prayer gesture. The song Helena begins.]
Long ago, just like the hearse you died to get in again,we are..so..far..from you
[as the song pics up light shines on the stage completely and it is a funeral scene at a church and the rest of the band is scattered around the open casket of a girl and dancers who are mourners dance around the casket(think of the Helena music video on a stage pretty much) Ray is overly head banging letting his beautiful fro bounce around while he is playing his guitar]
Burning on, just like a match you strike to incinerate, the live, of everyone you know know. And what’s the worst you take

Well I’ve been holding on tonight
[he gestures the people in the pews to stand up and they stand up holding their hymnals]

[He gestures the people to sit down]

Well I’ve been holding on tonight
[He runs down the stairs of the podium and kneels in front of the casket and the people in the pews rise up again]
What’s the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay.
[he begins reaching out as if he is longing for someone]
So Long and Goodnight, So Long and Goodnight. And if you carry on this way, things are better if I stay, so long and goodnight,
[He walks up and stands behind the casket and the dancers surround him]

[He gestures everyone to bow and pray. He closes his eyes and and presses his palms together. The girl inside the casket who is Gean comes out of the casket and begins to dance up and and down the Nave of the church. Gerard begins to have a crying look on his face as he sings with allot of emotion]
Can you hear me? Are you near me? Can we pretend to leave again. We’ll meet again...
[Gean briefly dances over to Gerard and rubs her hands across Gerard’s cheek and then goes back to dancing up the up and down the nave]
When both our cars collide
[Gerard opens up his eyes and walks down to in front of the casket and Gean does one final turn and falls into Gerard’s arms and he places her back into the casket and closes it. Then the rest of the band comes and they all lift her casket up onto their shoulders. The Stage goes black as a spotlight shines on the band carrying the casket. Gerard is even more emotional and Frank looks like he is under the casket cause of his shortness]
What’s the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay. So Long and Goodnight, So Long and Goodnight.
[The light on the stage shines again to them carrying the casket down the steps outside of the church. The dancer’s are dancing with umbrellas as it rains and the people attending the funeral stand around the stairs watching them carry the casket]
Everyone
And if you carry on this way, things are better if I stay, so long and goodnight,
Gerard
[He closes his eyes as they stop at the bottom of the steps]
So Long and Goodnight________
[As they final guitars riffs fade away,they place the casket in the hearse and Gerard begins to cry in his hands leaning on the hearse as the rest of the band comforts him. Then everyone begins to fade away into the darkness as the lights begin to fade off and Gerard is still leaning on the hearse. The Interlude begins to play and he starts singing in a somewhat sad and crackly voice with sorrow in the sound.]
Saints protect her now......Come..angles....of the lord...
[he starts to walk backwards slowly as if the hearse is driving away from him]
come angels ..of...the...unknown..
[his voice fads away when he sings unknown and he then disappears into the darkness. Then the Interlude fades away into to an orchestra version of Helena. The backdrop begins to change from outside a church to a city scape raining ash, as if the hearse is driving.Marking the end of Scene 1... ]
