“This is our new home?!?!” Helena bounced up and down, trying to squeeze between Gerard and the box he was carrying, and the doorway.

“Yes. All we have to do is finish moving in these few boxes and unpack them, and we can call it home.”

“Yay!!!!” Helena hurried up the stairs with her own box and began to set up her room.

“Do you like this surprise?” Gerard grinned at his wife.

“Yes.”

Gerard sat down his box and grabbed his wife’s hand.

“Look, I know I’ve put you through hell from the first day I met you, but I’m finally pulling myself out of the rut I was in. It shouldn’t have taken me as long as it did, but that doesn’t matter. I shouldn’t have went about things the way I did, but that doesn’t matter anymore. What matters is that I’m turning myself around. I was a selfish bastard, I will admit that. I wasn’t just hurting myself. I was hurting you, Helena, my family, and my friends. I was bringing down the band and destroying my relationship with you. All that matters now, though, is that I am doing this, but I need your support. I’m nothing without you, I’ve proved this. “

Paisley took a deep breath before letting it out slowly.

“Gerard, you’re right. I’m sorry, I’m the one being selfish now. It’s not just about me though. It’s about us, and that beautiful little girl upstairs. I’ve always heard that behind every great man is a woman behind him. And you have the potential to be a great man Gerard.”

Gerard smiled before wrapping his arms around her waist.

“That’s just the problem though. I don’t want you behind me, I want you beside me. Paisley, I want to renew our vows.”
