I sat in my own little booth, my knees pressed to my chest and my back to the wall. A cold sweat dripped down my forehead, and I wiped it away with a shaky hand. The moonlight streamed in through the broken blinds of the diner/killjoy safe house. I looked at the other seat in the booth, where my twin, Dark Runner snored quietly. He short purple hair sticking up every which way. I stood up, and took two steps before I heard something. I whipped out my gun, and wrapped my finger around the trigger. I stood with one leg in inch forward, and my knee slightly bent. I felt my heart hammering against my chest, as I tried to pick out a distinctive sound. I heard nothing but the small snores of Rusty Sunshine. A couple of seconds passed until I trusted the silence enough to lower my raygun to the floor. I stood upright, and held the gun in my hands. I traced the words 'Goodbye' that was printed on the barrel. I tucked my dripping bangs behind my ear, and stuck the gun in my holster. I sat back down on the booth. My bangs fell in my face again, but I didn't care. I stretched my hands to the toes of my dusty black boots, and clung on. I sat there for a moment. Then I went back to my original position, knees to my chest, back to the wall. And for the first time in three days, I slept.

Dark Runner's POV
I lifted my face from the leather seat, and sat up. Everyone else was asleep, even Throttle! She was sitting upright, but she was asleep. I squinted my eyes at the blinding sunlight that streamed through the windows, and got my eyes adjusted to the sudden bright light. 'Dr.D! His morning broadcast!' I thought to myself as I leapt off the seat, landing on the sand covered floor with a soft thud, and hit the radio on the counter. "109 in the sky but the pigs won't quit!" the small radio blared, waking everyone in the room. "What the fuck?" Rusty Sunshine yelled out, pulling herself to her feet and walking over to the counter. "Gah!" Throttle shouted before falling out of the booth seat, onto the ground. "Runner, you've pulled some insane crap before, but this is the earliest..." Mumbled Disenchanted Destroya, she ran her hand through her blond hair. "This better be good." Toxic Faith said waking up his best friend in the world, Toxic Rose, who stumbled to her feet and stood by Throttle, probably still asleep. One by one, they gathered around. Colourful Shadow, Fox Harlequin, Contemplation Bomb Sunshine, Cosmic Sun, Helena Demolition, and Astro O. We were like on huge family. Dr.D was making his broadcast, and they all stopped their tired complaining and listened up. “You’re hear with me, Dr. DeathDefying! I’ll be your surgeon, your proctor, your helicopter! Pumpin’ out the slaughter-matic sounds to keep you live! A system failure for the masses, empty matter for the master plan! Louder than God’s revolver and twice as shiny! This one’s for all you rock’n’rollers! All you crash queens and motor babies! LISTEN UP!” Then it burst into a Pep tonic rock song, and we got ready to patrol the zones. “Where the hell is my helmet!?!” Throttle said, searching frantically around the diner. “Uh… Throttle? It’s right here.” Astro O held up the black motorbike helmet, Throttle’s face turned red, grabbed the helmet with a ‘thanks’. Classic Throttle! Colourful Shadow pulled on her red boots, then her wrist warmers, topped off with a pair of yellow sunglasses. Disenchanted Destroya slapped on her mask before hopping into her personalized docs. Rusty Sunshine shrugged on her ‘ZOMBIE’ jacket, slipped her raygun into a holster, and put on her mask. Toxic Faith tied his converse, and pulled on his beat-up leather jacket. His buddy, Toxic Rose, slipped her knife into her left boot, and put on her ‘D, R, and J’ silver necklace, she looked out the window and glared at the too bright sun. Fox Harlequin put her arms through her cherry-red jacket (I have no idea how the color hasn’t faded yet!), and put her shiny gold raygun into her holsters. Static Detonator was geared up already, and was tracing her ‘REVENGE’ tattoo with her middle finger. Contemplation Bomb Sunshine was standing with Throttle, who was struggling to open a can of ‘Power pups’. Throttle took out her raygun, and blasted the can. The top part of the can flew across the diner, she took out a spoon, took a bite (reluctantly) , and offered some to Contemplation Bomb Sunshine, who crinkled her nose at the can, and said: “You do know that crap is ‘Pre-moistened Kibble, right?” Throttle turned slightly green, went outside, and we could hear her throwing up from here. She came back in, and started rinsing her mouth out. Cosmic Sunshine was ready, and started reaching for her own can, but Throttle stopped her with her hand and shook her head. “I’ll find something better for us. But no wonder BLI treats us like dogs. We eat their food.” She mumbled. Cosmic laughed at her, and sat down next to her on the counter. Helena Demolition looked at the three while she was zipping up her jacket, and shook her head. Astro O straightened out her awesomer-than-fuck Unicorn shirt, and put on her goggles. “Ready?” Cosmic Sunshine said to everyone. Throttle, Helena Demolition, Colourful Shadow, Toxic Faith, Fox Harlequin, and Contemplation Bomb Sunshine rode motorcycles around the car, and Static Detonator was driving the car. We stepped out, and Throttle put her shut her helmet, the glass was tinted, so it was like her own sunglasses. "Let's ride!" She said. Each of the bike riders hopped on their own bikes, and kicked them to life. The rest of us hopped in the car, and Static turned the key, and the engine roared. Throttle, Helena Demolition, and Colourful shadow sped off, we followed, then Toxic Faith, Fox Harlequin, and Contemplation Bomb Sunshine were right behind us.
