Chapter 17 - Jumpnows POV
Shani was all over Andy. I pushed down the sharp, painful pang of jealousy. She was wearing a short, black, clingy dress with a neckline that dropped so low I was surprized you couldn’t see her underpants, if she was even wearing any. No wonder he was here with her.
I had to get away for them, I couldn’t handle seeing them together. I went through the backstage entrance, and into one of the more private rooms.
I stayed there until I could hear no more music, I could only hope that everyone had just forgotten about me and left. I didn’t want them to see me looking like a lovesick puppy, wanting someone I could never have.
. . . . .
I heard the sound of footsteps and laughing coming from somewhere outside the small room that I had isolated myself in. Shani… and, who was the other? it sure wasn’t Andy.
I looked out the door to see Shani, holding Jeremey by the collar of his shirt as they ran out through the back door, leading into the ally way.
wow, I thought, she really does take anyone. I walked out of my quiet room and back to the dance floor, looking for the others.
I walked out onto the dance floor to see Kirrah and Shaun dancing in the center of the room, their bodies pressed close together. Bradie, Sarah and Andy were leaning against the wall, just talking, I pulled Sarah aside to tell her what I had seen.
. . . . .
“What!?” she said quietly, her fists clenching and un-clenching in anger.
“I don’t know what to tell Andy, but we can’t just not tell him,” I said. He’d already been screwed over so many times, I didn’t want to see him hurt again, “I’m gonna tell him, I can’t lie to him.”
“Just try and break it to him gently. good luck,” she gave me a weak smile as I turned towards where I had last seen Andy, but all I saw was the empty space where he had stood only minutes before.
I heard a door shut as Andy walked backstage. Oh dear, I thought. I ran after him, I didn’t have a clue what I would do when I got to him, but I knew I had to stop him from seeing Shani and Jeremy together.
Andys hand was on the door leading out to the ally way, he started to push the door open.
“Andy! Wait!” I yelled desperatly.
I was too late.
. . . . .
“I can’t beleive this happened again!” Andy said, his grief showing through his voice, “am I really that bad of a boyfriend?”
“Hey! it’s not your fault, no one could have predicted what happened with Ezme, and well, Shani is just a whore,” I said, “and besides, your great, I mean, who wouldn’t want you, your funny, nice… beautiful.”
“What?” he asked. Oh god, did I just say that out loud? I thought frantically.
“Uh nothing?” I said a little to quickly.
“you… you just called me beautiful,” he said, the realization finally hit him.
I don’t know what came over me, I’m not sure if it was the right thing to do, but if I had a chance to do this all again, I know I would have done the exact same thing.
I looked deep into his eyes and lent in closer to him. Our lips brushed in the softest of embraces.
I pulled away to await his reaction.
