Good stuff, I like speedy updates. I like Bulbasaur's name, even though I don't really enjoy the LotR books all that much. Yeah, maybe Mel was a bit mature, but it really is impossible to write a convincing ten-year-old unless you're actually around ten.
I liked Tirith's scar, it's distinguishing and provides a great mental picture. Needless to say, I wasn't really a fan of Tommy, though I s'pose I wasn't supposed to like him much. Bratty kids shouldn't be let near pokemon...
While I love your story, it really frustrates me. Every chapter I read makes me want to write a pokemon fic of my own, but the plot bunnies are coming along pretty slowly. It doesn't matter. Looking forward to your superlong Viridian Forest chapter.Author's response
I meet a lot of people who don't care for LotR. I don't very much, as a matter of fact, but I'll say this for Tolkein, he knew how to create a detailed world, and any sensible person should respect that, if not enjoy his stories. Plus, it's fun to throw in allusions to other works in your fanfiction.
Tommy is a brat. I was trying to go for the authentic seven year old experience, and I think I got it maybe a bit too acurrate. Needless to say, we're not going to be seeing him for at least another year. I hate to dump characters that I've creatred, but he's definitely going to be assigned to a minor character role.
As for writing something else, concentrate on finishing your other stories before you begin a pokemon fanfic. Not that I wouldn't like to see more good ones out there, but if you start something you might as well finish it.
Finally, thanks for the reveiw, it's probably the last one that I'm going to get for a while, because this Viridian Forest chapter is going to take a while to write.Made of Stone

No, Mel still seems 10. Tommy's a right pain, though, and I wish something would be done about his dad.
Kudos for Pokemon who aren't just mindless pawns of their trainers!Made of Stone

I'm not actually a big pokemon fan, but I like your story anyway. It provides a realism that the show never could capture, which was one of the reasons I stopped watching the show a long time ago. thought I'd let you know.

Thank you very much. I can't stand the show for about the exact same reason plus the complete lack of meaningful plot and character development. However, I am addictted to the gamesm which is why I write.
