I was at a loss for words when I opened the car door. He looked so different, then again i'm sure I looked significantly different also. I wasn't a fan of the food at the hospital and rarely ate, when I did it didn't stay in my stomach for very long.
"So," he spoke first, "are you gonna get in the car, Vi?"
I chuckled to myself and slipped into the small vehicle. I didn't know what to say to him, so he did most of the talking.
"Vi, are you okay?"
"I was just released from a psychiatric hospital, what do you think?"
"I don't just mean that, Vi I mean..." he sighed, "That's just it, you got released and yet you don't seem too happy about it"
"I'm just a little shocked, I figured Frankie would come get me or Aunt Linda even. I never would've thought you'd be the one to pick me up."
He was silent for a moment before he finally spoke.
"I wanted to be the one to pick you up, I am the reason they didn't come get you actually...", he trailed off.
"But, why?", I asked not sure of myself.
"That doesn't matter, Vi. what matters is that you're out of the hospital now, you're better"
I stopped talking after that. There wasn't much to talk about with Gerard that wouldn't send me right back to Trenton County Psychiatric Hospital, so I just left it alone.
We finally pulled into my Aunt Linda's driveway at around 3 p.m. I wasn't too thrilled to see about seven cars parked in her driveway but, I was glad to be home. I slowly got out of the car and made my way to the front door. Before I could even turn the handle Aunt Linda swung the door open and pulled me into a warm embrace.
"Oh Violet, honey, i'm so glad you're finally home"
"I'm glad to be home too, hospital food sucks ass"
"normally I'd scold you for using that kind of language but right now i'm too happy. Go into the living room, you have some guests."
I smiled and walked into the living room. I looked around the room, Mikey, Ray, Matt and Frank were crowded around the TV.
"Hey guys", I said quietly.
"Violet!!!", Mikey ran up and hugged me."I'm so glad to see you it has been too long"
"Indeed it has. Torfro, whats up with this shit? No hug?"
Ray smiled and gave me a hug. Such a quiet man.
Frank and Matt both gave me hugs and we all crowded back around the TV. They were watching home movies. It was from my 16th birthday party. I smiled at the memory. Since Gerard and I share the same birthday we decided to have a joint birthday party that year.
Flashback: April 9th, 1993
"Viiii", Gerard screamed from the bottom of the stairs, "Come on, you look fine everyone is swimming without us."
"I'm coming, I'm coming"
I walked out of the bathroom with a towel covering my body. I finally started to fill out, I guess you could say. My A cup breasts had now grown into a full C cup. Hints why I covered myself.
"Finally, I thought you died in there."
"Haha, very funny."
We walked out the back door and I instantly knew something wasn't right, everyone crowded around me. Frank ripped my towel off and Gerard threw me over his shoulder.
"put me down, motherfucker, don't you dare throw me in that damn pool"
"Oh, come on Vi, it'll be fun"
"No it..."
I was cut off by water surrounding my body.Gerard wasn't paying attention so I grabbed his ankle and pulled him in with me.
"Vi, what the hell?!"
"Oh come on, Gee, it's fun" I laughed. I couldn't help but notice how cute he looked.
End Flashback
"Hello? Earth to Violet", Frank snapped his fingers in front of my eyes.
"Huh, yeah sorry."
"You okay?"
"Yeah just reminiscing, that's all."
My eyes met Gerard's for a split second.
"I hate to be a bummer guys, but I think I am gonna go lay down."
I made my way up the stairs to my old bedroom and was about to open the door when someone grabbed my wrist. I turned around to face none other Gerard and before I could speak he had me pushed up against the wall and his soft lips were against mine.
"So," he spoke first, "are you gonna get in the car, Vi?"
