Mikey's P.O.V.

I knew I'd have to tell Ray that I was with the journalist coming on tour with us. I just thought that I'd be able to do it Wednesday morning before we picked Belle up. I didn't expect him to walk out of the building as I was kissing her. Then again I didn't expect a journalist going on tour with us; let alone the journalist being Belle.

"So, let me get this straight, Belle is your girlfriend who is also a journalist for the magazine which is trying to find out who your girlfriend is." I nodded, at least he wasn't saying that it's a bad idea, "wow. Talk about confusing."

"It's funny actually, because we sometimes make it obvious and nobody see's us and when we do try to be descret there's pictures in the next issue of us." I reply thinking of what it's going to be like on tour.

"But hasn't the magazine realised the similarities between your 'mysterious' girlfriend and Belle? I mean nobody else is bound to have the same hair style as Belle." Ray asked me while finishing his coffee.

"Nope, because Belle deals with everything to do with us for the magazine." Ray looked really confused again, "for the first six months you're at the magazine you take charge of a band - so you don't get confused with which kind of article you're writing for which band - and seeing as though Belle's trial piece for the magazine was an interview with us, she's now stuck with us for the next six months." I explained briefly. Lucky Belle, she gets to cover her tracks so nobody finds out its her that I'm with.

"lucky her, but why's she keeping it a secret though?" Ray finally asked the question I'd been expecting.

"They'll do the 'you can have a promotion if...'" I didn't need to say anymore, Ray understood what meant.

"She's serious about her job then isn't she?" He asked me.

"Yeah, she wants to get to the top without using me as an 'advantage' as she says." I replied.

"You want to know my opinion about her don't you?" Ray knew me too well; I nodded in answer. "She looks smart, she doesn'r look like the kind that'll use youand that's all I can tell you for now. I'll be able to tell you more once we've been on tour for a week."

"Thanks and I know you're dying to ger home to pack so you can go if you want to. I need to go to Belle's to grab something I left the other day." I replied and we said goodbye and Ray left. I got another coffee to tske out and headed to Belle's.

-----

When I get to Belle's I reached for the spare key in the hanging basket next to her door to let myself in. I put the key in the lock and found that the door was already unlocked, I pushed the door open slowly and stepped inside - it was too quiet.

"Hello?" I called out and there was no answer. I better check to make sure nothing was missing otherwise Belle will be heartbroken.

I walked down the hallway which still had everything in it and I checked the kitchen first. It was exactly how we left it last night before going to my hotel room: a few glasses on the side, a couple of plates on the draining board and a empty pop bottle needing to go in the bin on the counter.

I checked the dining room next which she just used as storage for her books, films and CDs. Everything was also still there packed into boxes, she still hadn't got round to unpaacking those yet.

I left the living room until last because I didn't want to walk in and see her laptop, TV, stereo and other important things like these missing. Only that's not what I saw when walked into the room, what I did see could have broke my heart.

Belle was curled into the smallest ball imaginable, her eyes were all puffy, red and swollen and her eye make-up had ran making it look like she's never slept in her life. Her normally joy filled eyes looked lifeless as they stared in a straight line. She looked so smalll, she looked like a scared little child and it scared me.

I knelt down next to her and started stroking her hair, "Belle? Belle are you okay?" She continued to stare at the wall. "Belle, answer me please. Belle, what happened? I thought you were supposed to be meeting your mom." Her eyes moved to my face then, and instead of the bright detailed blue I usually saw I just saw a plain dull blue.

"Don't ever leave me." She whispered to me.

"Belle wh-"

"Promise me." She cut me off.

"I promise I'll never leave you. Belle, what happened?" I needed to know. As she was about to tell me my phone started ringing. I had to answer the call as it was the bands manager.

-----

Once I was off the phone I turned back to face Belle - to ask her again what happened - but she had disappeared. I ran through the dining room into the kitchen to see her washing the two glasses out. She picked up a towel and a glass to dry and she seemed to be in her own world.

"Belle?" At the sound of my voice she jumped as if she wasn't expecting it and dropped the glass causing it to smash all over the floor. Sh instantly bent down and started picking it up. "Here let me do that."

"No, it's okay. I've got it." She continued to pick shattered pieces of glass up.

"Belle let me help you." I started picking the pieces up and tried taking the pieces she had off of her.

"Mikey I'm fine." Her voice was starting to waver.

"No it's okay, let me do it." After a bit of a hesitation she put the pieces of glass into my hands and started crying. After I put the glass in the bin I wrapped her in my arms. "Belle are you okay?"

"My mum's leaving me." She sobbed out.

"She's not leaving you forever, we can go and visit her and she can come and stay here with you. You can also ring her every day." I replied to her.

"I can't Mikey." She whispered.

"You can, you can go any-"

"She's dying Mikey. That's why she's going back to England, so she can die." She sobbed out roughly into my chest. "She's leaving me."

I didn't know how to respond to that. It's bad enough when somebody dies unexpectedly but knowing they're going to die and being unable to do anything about it is even worse. It was even worse than that for Belle because her mom was the only original family she had left. Belle's going to go to pieces when her mom actually passes.

I was brought out of my thoughts by Belle's grip on my top loosening and her crying quietening down. She had cried herself to sleep in my arms. I had to watch over her incase she awoke screaming during the night. Tonight is going to be one long night indeed.
