Earth revisited
3 reviewsWhen a life is worth just a drop in the ocean, that's when you get scared.
1Ambiance
You'd imagine it all to have changed
but the streets lie cold and gray
skies a-swell with rain
everything as it was
eerily the same
There you perch on the ledge of the pavement
watching cars spill up cascades of wet
it's all washed out concrete and tarmac
as if time itself stopped in regret
And your world might have blown to crumbles
but theirs didn't even shake
it takes more than things so humble
to cause the slightest quake
So pile books that you don't understand
make paintings that stop at your hand
sing tunes with only your nose
- nothing compares to those -
who thinks themselves more than squirts
'Cause the moment you slip away
your memory leaves with the hearse
and as much as you want it to stay
you're nothing
but a fart in the universe
but the streets lie cold and gray
skies a-swell with rain
everything as it was
eerily the same
There you perch on the ledge of the pavement
watching cars spill up cascades of wet
it's all washed out concrete and tarmac
as if time itself stopped in regret
And your world might have blown to crumbles
but theirs didn't even shake
it takes more than things so humble
to cause the slightest quake
So pile books that you don't understand
make paintings that stop at your hand

'Cause the moment you slip away

and as much as you want it to stay
you're nothing
