Ch. 1
Liz's Scream
She stood up on the railing on her balcony, the 16th floor, traffic down below. She looked down at the cars going fast past the apartment building, "Stacie?" A mans voice came behind her. She turned slowly on the railing her face pale and full of sleep in her eyes. He walked forward, "Get down Stacie!" He reached forward and grabbed for her but she held her arms out and started to fall towards the cars below. He looked over the railing to find her laying back first on a car. He leaned forward screaming, "Stacie!"
Hilary looked at the Hawaiian building, a school that teaches her to help people in need. She sighed saying to herself, "I will learn to help people who don't know how to help themselves. This school will teach me everything." She looked down and pulled her bag on her back more, "Here we go!" She said and started towards the doors of the school.
She got inside and looked around and started walking towards the desk, "Hello?" She spoke to the women behind the counter, "My name is Hilary Sangwin." She said and leaned on the desk, "My name should be on the list." She said smiling a warm smile
The women looked at her and looked at the computer and smiled, "I'll look dear." She said typing
Suddenly the door flew open and a boy stumbled in, he was Hilary's age and he had black hair which was cut short in the back yet long in the front, he was really tall and cute. He fell flat on his face his books falling all over.
Hilary turned startled by the loud boom it made on the floor. She blinked and covered her mouth to not laugh
The women leaned over the desk, "Late again are we William Martin?" She asked
William jumped to his feet before she really finished what she was going to say, "Billy, Mrs. Herren, Billy, not William..." He was out of breath as he spoke
Hilary watched him her mouth still covered. She smiled and walked up to him and bent down, "Do you need help?" She started to pick up his books, she looked at his face and noticed he had a piercing in the middle of his lip and one on the right side of his nose and one on the left eyebrow.
Billy looked at her while she grabbed the book he had from his hand. He raised an eye brow, "Do I know you?" He asked standing up with Hilary
Hilary looked at him and smiled putting his books straight in her arms and pressing them against her chest, "No I'm unfortunately new." She said and handed the books out
Billy grabbed them slowly still watching her, "Name?" He asked
"Hilary Sangwin." She said
A smile grew on his face, "Hello. Billy Martin." He said looking her up and down then looking straight at her, "You're cute."
Hilary froze and her eyes widened, "What?" She yelled embarrassed, "Do you think you can just swoon me? I don't think so!"
Billy blinked watching her reaction, "But..." he said but she interrupted
"But nothing! Why don't you and your little..." She looked down at his private and looked back at him, "Friend and you go find some other girl to screw!" She turned and walked back up to the desk, "What are my rooms please!" She held her hand out
Mrs. Herren gave the papers over
Hilary swung her bag on her shoulder again and turned her back to Billy and started walking
Billy held his hand out, "Um..." He was totally confused, he didn't mean nothing and she didn't need to blow up like that, "I didn't... What the hell?" He shook his head and started walking another way.
Hilary was storming down the hall and she slowly slowed to a stop, "What did I do that for?" she turned red, "I just blew up at him for nothing!" She screamed and looked back, "Um..." She started to walk back when she heard a voice
"You new Ms?"
She spun around as a nerdy teacher was watching her. She let go of the front of her shirt as she grabbed it when she jumped and spun around, "Yes." She swallowed
He smiled greeting her warmly, "Come on in Ms." He moved from the door
She smiled and walked in the room, "Thank you sir." She said passing him
"Your welcome Ms."
Six months later
Hilary likes the school, she made a great friend Kelsey Johnson. They do everything. But then she has another feeling, Billy Martin. She's been watching him lately. He's really nice, and popular, but mostly nice. He still talks to Hilary even after she blew up at him.
Kelsey looked at Hilary, "You're doing it again." She said and looked down at her bag of potato chips that was part of the menu at lunch that day.
Hilary looked at her, "What?" She asked looking at her food
Kelsey took a chip and ate it then looked at her curiously, "Why do you stare at Billy Willy?" She smiled saying, "You like him I know it... but he will know it to if you keep on staring at him." She took another chip and ate it
Hilary shrugged, "He wont know unless someone tells him, Kelsey..." She said looking up at her pointing something out
Kelsey blinked and tilted her head, "You think I would say something? Hilary, I will keep your secret. Really!" She smiled
Hilary giggled and nodded, "I know Kelsey. I was basically joking." She nodded smiling
Kelsey smiled and nodded, "Duh I'm not stupid!" She laughed
Hilary nodded and looked back at Billy, "Yeah but he's cute right?" She said smiling dreamed out
Kelsey shook her head smiling
Hilary smiled and blinked as their teacher walked up to Billy and bent down talking to him holding out papers, "I wonder what's going on..." Hilary said to herself
Billy's face lightened up and he grabbed the papers nodding and he looked over at Hilary then at the teacher nodding smiling
The teacher stood up and patted him on the back and started towards Hilary
Hilary stiffened and looked straight. The teacher walked up. She turned and smiled at him, "Good afternoon Mr. Lewis." She greeted happily
He bent down and handed papers to Hilary, "You're ready Hilary. You and Billy will start tomorrow on taking care of Mr. Norman Cornwell." He said smiling, "The address is here." He pointed and smiled at her and stood up and patted her on the back, "You'll do fine."
Hilary grabbed his arm, "What's Norman's problem?" She asked shyly.
He looked at her, "He doesn't sleep at night at all. Sleeps during the day more likely." He said and started walking, "Oh and Liz is going in today that is why you have tomorrow."
Hilary looked at the papers, "Why did they start me off so early?" She asked herself flipping through the pages, "And why with Billy of all things." She smiled thinking, "Liz gets to do it alone. Funny! I bet she will have fun bathing an old man. That's just her type!" She smiled over at Billy and set the papers by her
Liz rode up to the Cornwell house on her bike. She was pretty but wore a lot of make up and she was short tall and she was skinny-chubby. She had brown hair and eyes and blonde highlights. She started towards the house putting her hair back in a ponytail while she got up to the door. She pushed the doorbell and stood there waiting. She tapped her foot getting very impatient. She sighed and pushed it again, and waited. She threw her arms up and dropped them back down and grabbed the doorknob in a tight grip and turned it amazed that it turned. She looked up at the house and pushed the door open slowly and looked around, "Hello?" She spoke softly throughout the house. She started in and slipped off her shoes at the doorway. She started through the house, it was a mess, paper was scattered everywhere and cans and bottles. Every piece of trash you could think of. She looked around and saw a sliding door like they have in Japan or China that are partly see through. She started toward it seeing a figure moving behind the doors. She reached forward slowly, "Hello?" She asked
Floor creaked behind her
She spun around, "Hello?" She asked looking around behind her. She blinked raising her eyebrow then turning back toward the door. She grabbed the door and started to open it slowly
A shape came towards her and fell on top of her
She screamed and shoved it off. She backed away and looked at Mr. Cornwell's body laying on the floor breathing very hard, scared, terrified. She had her hand on her chest in a tight fist trying to gather her wits. She took and deep sigh and stood up, "M...M...Mr. Cornwell?" She said still shaky from him fall upon her. She bent down by him and smiled weakly trying to be friendly, "Are you alright? You couldn't wait for help?" She grabbed him by his underarms no other way to carry him and slowly dragged him through the sliding doors and to his bed. She lifted him up and set him lightly on the bed saying, "You shouldn't scare people like that Norman." She smiled and looked around, "This place needs cleaning." She said patting her hands together and she started walking picking things from the floor as she walked. She looked around and looked at the top of the steps. Ok. She said to herself, " This is a freaky house. Why was he..."
Something moved at the top of the steps.
She looked up, "Hello? Anyone else here?" She called up there and she started walking up the steps slowly picking things up while she went. She held the garbage to her chest slowly adding more to the ball. She got to the top, a corner. She crossed her arms and turned to go back down but heard a cry for help. She looked at the corner, "Hello?" She spoke softly, scared. She started towards the corner and she turned around
A women was in her face just like that
"AH!" Liz fell screaming. She looked up the garbage around her, the women was gone. Liz stood back up and smoothed her hands on her pants, "What... what was that..." She said
Softly came a sound behind her. Sounded like a gurgle or water in a mouth. Someone gurgling. She froze and slowly turned around. Soon came face to face with the women and her blood shot eyes and torn skin. The sound grew.
Liz's scream filled the house but ended quickly with a darker scream.
