The day Courtney and Kelly were leaving, they woke up extremely early. It wasn't exactly on purpose, more so because their bodies were set to be up, because they just wanted to be in California. They were hyper all day until they arrived at the airport.

Courtney was still jumping up and down involuntarily. Kelly, on the other hand, was just excited – no longer hyper.

As they boarded the plane, Courtney's foot was tapping, and Kelly's hands were shaking. As the plane took off, Courtney couldn't help but at least say good-bye to the place she grew up. "Good-bye, Jersey," she muttered, her hand against the cold window.

Before Jersey was out of sight, she did say one more thing. "Good-bye, Gerard. I'll always love you."

Kelly said she was overreacting, but she didn't see it that way. She knew Gerard would never be lost in her mind. He would always be there – whether it was in the back or not.

When Gerard was told that Courtney had already left, he didn't take it lightly. It didn't take him long to begin a long road of self-destruction, and it worried all of his friends, family, even Courtney's family was worried about him.

He gave up practically his entire life afterward. He gave up everything he believed in. After months of aggravation, he began only getting worse. He quickly began using alcohol as a crutch.

The alcohol became useless to him. He only got more upset when drunk. Drunk on the couch, sobbing and yelling about how much he missed Courtney and how much he wished he'd never made such a huge mistake, and how he wished she just forgave him didn't seem like the most ideal thing in the world.

Before he knew it, Gerard was doing whatever drug he could get his hands on, taking every pill his eyes set upon, and drinking every alcoholic beverage his fingers touched.

He knew Courtney would be ashamed of the sight if she saw him, but she wasn't there. The thought wavered in his mind quite a bit, but it never stopped him. As much as Mikey or Frank tried to stop and help him, it never worked. The Gerard Way they once knew was gone, and replaced with the depressed man that stood before them only at bars.

When Courtney stepped into her dorm, she carried the heavy boxes inside, placing them in the vacant bedroom. She didn't know who her roommate was, she didn't know if they were even a girl or not. All she knew was that she was excited to finally be away from all the drama of New Jersey.

"Oh, thank God, you saw my stuff in the other room," a voice behind Courtney made her turn around, and stare for a moment. "Oh, where are my manners? I'm Jenny Smith. I'm your roommate," she held her hand out for Courtney to shake, a smile on her face.

Courtney couldn't help but smile back, shaking Jenny's hand. "I'm Courtney Johnson, it's nice to meet you," she greeted her, placing her hand in her pocket as they disconnected.

"You're polite?" Jenny asked, her eyebrows furrowing. "Courtney, I think we'll get along just fine."

So, I'm writing the sequel now—I have been for a while, actually—and I'm too lazy to post all 44 chapters on this and then update on this and Mibba, so I'll just put the link "here.":http://www.mibba.com/Stories/Read/478081/Panic/

Message my Mibba (monstrosity.) if you're having any issues.
