My own guardian Angel

I know you're with me, every step of the way,
Watching over me, listening to what I say.
Not here on earth, but here in my heart,
Even if I die we won't be apart.

Miss you every day, wish you could have stayed,
Why did you have to go, why did you have to leave?
All these years, I still can't believe.
That you're gone and never coming home.
Yet I still feel you around when I'm alone.

Despite all the pain and the blood I have spilled,
I still haven't given in and I never will.
Feel you looking over my shoulder as I write these words,
Knowing your listening I know that you heard,
I say a little verse in my head, so that you know I still think of you 
And know you're watching everything I do.
The mistakes I make and the steps I take.
