I take the blade
In between my fingers
Tasting it's cold metal power
Testing the lucid control
It thinks it has
Over me
I dare it
Over and over again
To hit me with it's best shot
Reminding myself
Of how small and insignificant
It is
And how it's not it that controls me
But I who controls it
But then
Somehow
I manage to get lost in it
The danger
The precarious balance over the edge
And
Somehow
I'm inferior again
To this cold metal blade
In between my fingers
Tasting it's cold metal power
Testing the lucid control
It thinks it has
Over me
I dare it
Over and over again
To hit me with it's best shot
Reminding myself
Of how small and insignificant
It is
And how it's not it that controls me
But I who controls it
But then
Somehow
I manage to get lost in it
The danger
The precarious balance over the edge
And
Somehow
I'm inferior again
To this cold metal blade
