Ok new day, new chapters! Yay!
-----------------------------
Pete sighed as he walked into the studio. It had been a couple of days since the girls had gone out and he had words with Cadence. He really wasn't feeling good, all this stress was starting to it's toll on him and quite frankly the last thing he wanted to do was be social. But, seeing as how rapper Big Sean was coming in to the studio today for an appearance on the album they were secretly working on, he had to be.
Pulling open the door he was surprised to see Patrick already sitting there with Cadence and Ariana. He wasn't sure how this was going to go and his heart was almost beating out of his chest. He hadn't actually laid eyes on Cadence since she walked out of his living room and he could definitely tell she was pregnant. But, maybe that was because he knew she was pregnant with HIS baby. He didn't understand why she was making everything so hard, this was the way it was always supposed to be.
"Hey." Cadence smiled at him. After talking to Patrick she decided she wasn't going to let him get to her and she was going to be the bigger person.
"Hey." He gave a weak smile as he sat down. "What's up?" He asked as he sat down next to her.
"Crashing your studio." She laughed.
He chuckled a little bit. He knew why she was there. Cadence had always been a big fan of rap and hip hop music and he was almost sure she was there to see Sean. "Is sean here yet?" He asked.
"He was here but ran to take a call since you weren't here yet. We've actually been here for about two hours." Patrick nodded as he leaned back in the chair.
Just as Pete was about to speak the door opened and Sean walked in. "Hey man." Pete smiled as he stood up and they shared a classic 'bro-hug'.
"Hey, where the hell have you been? I got stuck hanging out with this guy. At least he brings cute girls with him." He smirked as he sat down.
"I know right." Pete smiled back as he had an uneasy feeling in his stomach.
"Alright, well these cute girls need to go get some lunch." Cadence smiled. "It was nice meeting you." She smiled at Sean.
"It was my pleasure, trust me." He stood up and hugged her.
"Come on, Arii." Cadence smiled as she bent over and picked Ariana up. "Say bye."
"Bye Patrick, bye Pete, bye Big man." She laughed as she high fived Patrick.
As soon as the door shut, Pete caught the look on Sean's face. "And asses like that are the reason I wrote Dance." He smirked.
"Hey!" Pete looked at him. "Mine." He told him.
"Really?" Sean looked surprised. If anything he would of thought she was with Patrick had he not already met Lisa. "I didn't mean it like that, man." He raised his hands in a manner to say 'no offense'.
"I know, I know." Pete shook his head. "Long story, man." He sighed as he dropped his head into his hands as Patrick walked into the booth to start his part of the song.
"You got baby mama drama without the baby." Sean laughed as he leaned back in the chair.
"5 and a half months and the baby will be here." He nodded. He hadn't really said those words to anyone else yet.
"Dude! Congrats?" He offered. He wasn't really sure if this was something Pete wanted to be proud of or if he was really having a hard time with it. Cadence didn't seem to even give Pete a glance, even as she left the studio.
"It would be, it will be. She'll come around." He nodded. He was almost positive that she would have to come around. He could not only be a part time weekend father again. He hated it with Bronx and he'd hate it with this baby too.
Sean nodded as he traded places with Patrick in the booth. This shouldn't be too hard considering he already knew what he was going to rap into the song.
It had been about forty-five minutes into the studio session when the door opened again and Cadence and Ariana walked back inside. Ariana walked over to the couch and climbed up and sat down. Cadence sat down next to Pete and looked at him. He looked like shit and she hated it. She hated that he looked like shit because of her, because he was stressing over the situation. Despite looking like shit she couldn't help the way he made her feel. Physically at least.
"I think we need to talk." She said as she finally broke the silence.
"I think so too." Pete agreed. "There's a lot to talk about..."
"Yeah, it's pretty serious. I feel really strong about what I'm about to say..." She nodded and he eyed her. "I think you guys need to work with Jason Derulo next. I got a big crush." She gave him a huge smile.
Pete laughed because he knew she was trying to lighten the mood. There was his girl. "Sorry the best I can do is 2 chainz right now." He looked at her.
"Wait, seriously?" She smiled. "I am so there." She laughed. "But, no seriously. We do need to talk. I think you should come over tonight. Arii will be with Patrick at the movies. They're going to see Tangled or something." She nodded as she eyed Ariana who was now sleeping on the couch.
"Are you sure?" He didn't want to get his hopes up that she would fix all of this.
"I'm sure. Come at around seven." She nodded as she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. She was about to get up when Pete grabbed her into a hug and held onto her tightly. He could feel the small bump of her belly press against him and he smiled. "I'll see you later." She smiled as she went and picked up Ariana from the couch. "Tell Patrick I'll see him at 6:30." She smiled.
Pete nodded as he watched her walk out. It was indeed asses like hers that made songs like Sean's. He laughed to himself and went back to his paper and pad.
"Now, have her back by 10pm!" Cadence laughed as she handed Ariana to Patrick. "This is her first date." She smiled.
"I know, I know." Patrick smiled. He knew she was joking but he loved having time with Ariana. He and Lisa had decided to put off kids, if they had them at all. He wasn't sure with either of their jobs they could handle it. But he could get his fill with Bronx, Arii and now Izzy. Before he'd know it Cadence would have another baby that he could spoil. "Pete still coming?" He questioned.
"I hope." She nodded as she stood on the sidewalk as Patrick put Ariana into her carseat. "There he is now." She spotted the black SUV pull up behind Patrick's car.
"Remember that he has feelings too, don't say anything mean." Patrick shut the door and kissed her head.
"I know, firefly." She smiled as she watched him get in his car and waved good-bye to Ariana.
"Hey." She smiled as Pete walked over to her.
"Hi." He had a bright smile on his face as he followed her into the house. He looked around as it had been the first time he had been there. "Wow..." He trailed off. It was a gorgeous house and he could tell Patrick had a hand in decorating it.
"Still a work in progress..." She nodded as she walked him to the living room and they sat on the couch together closely. She was so lonely lately and all the pregnancy hormones were wrecking her emotionally.
"So what did you want to talk about?" He asked. He knew what they had to talk about but he didn't know when or how he should start the conversation.
"This." Cadence smiled as she leaned in and pressed her lips against his. Pushing him down on the couch and smiling. "I missed you."
Pete was at a loss for words, he didn't even try to speak as he grabbed the back of her head and kissed her roughly. The whole time is mind was screaming yes! She had finally come to his senses. Or, so he thought.
