Toshiro's POV

When I woke up, it was morning and I didn't feel like myself. My vision was blurred and my head was pounding, I can't speak, I couldn't move my arms and legs - in fact I could hardly feel anything at all except maybe that annoying throbbing in my head.

What happened?

I keep going on in my mind...

I tried to think back to the last thing I remembered...

it was hard and it hurt too much to think, but one thing was clear, someone hit me hard from behind and now I'm most likely a prisoner of some kind but who...?

Who would be lurking around the forest at night looking for girl's to kidnap?

Human Trafficker? Bounty Hunter? or worse.... A Pervert!! I yelled within my mind

That'd be Way Worse than being sold off.......

Ughh. I shiver at my own thoughts

I calm myself as I sense a presence growing closer with every second, I close my eyes now realizing they've been open the whole time.

I feel big hands wrap around my shoulders and I could tell he was strong because he lifted me over his shoulder like a bag of flour!

I wanted to fight back, I wanted to kick and cry out but it felt as though something was stopping me, as if I was being held back or down.

Now I realised I'm tied from head to toe, bound like a freshly caught deer and I hate this feeling

I suddenly feel bad for deer that get hunted for food and sport because now I'm a Dead Deer!

I could feel every movement the man made, I couldn't even tell where I was going anymore, it felt like hours before the man stopped for a break as I felt him place me on the ground, I could tell a few things from where he dropped me.

1. We were no longer in the forest for I could no longer smell the wood from the tree's or feel the dirt I'd grown so accustomed to over my travels.

2. I've ruled out him being a 'Human Traficer' and a 'Pervert' because (A) I'm not being thrown into some wagon or cart with any sounds of movement or terrified screams for freedom. (B) If he had been one he wouldn't of had this all so planned out or taking this long to do anything strange or weird to me.

3. We were most likely heading towards Civilization where I am more likely to get free of him or at least catch someone's attention long enough to help me.

4. He's a Bounty Hunter and I've been marked with a price on my head and it must be a pretty big sum for him to take the chance and grab a Girl in the middle of the Forest during the dead of Night. (I'm pretty sure I know who put the bounty out for me)

I figured that was what was taking place so I have to play this smart until I find an escape.

I heard an unfamiliar voice, I couldn't tell if it was talking to me or someone else farther away until I felt him grab me again, he sat me up and leaned me against a tree (I could tell - just like the dirt) He removed the cloth that was blocking my sight and I got a better look at him.

He was Big, Tall, Muscular and he was wearing a mask that covered the top of his face, He didn't look mean or cruel but for a guy who hit me on the head and treated me like cattle I can't be too sure.

"Look kid" he says in a deep voice "If I take off the gag your not going to scream are you?" he asks calmly and actually nicely.

since I couldn't speak at the moment I nodded.

He slowly takes the gag out of my mouth and I slightly cough from being unable to swallow for so long, next thing I knew he carried me over to a tall but thin Pole on the side of the road, he took a spare rope from his bag then went on to tie me around my legs and waist onto this Pole.

"Can't have you running off now can we?" he says as he finishes his tight knot.

He pulls out a small but sharp carving knife, I close my eyes thinking it was the end but to my surprise my hands are no longer bound... well behind me that is. He maneuvered my hands to my front through the ropes and hands me a small bag of food.

I look at him confused.

"A Kid's gotta eat at some point" he says not making eye contact.

I open the bag to see Fresh bread and cheese, I didn't care where it came from - I was simply grateful to have a real meal

If you could call it that - mind you I ran out about 2 weeks ago

I lowered my head down as I lifted the food to my mouth and it tasted so good I can't even begin to explain!

I looked around while I ate and took in the surrounding area, it definitely wasn't the forest, we were on a high cliff and very high at that because I could see a small village in the distant, what was strange though was that I saw a Huge Stone Monument with faces of men I didn't recognize. My thoughts were soon interrupted.

"Hey Kid?" he called over to me

I stared at him blankly.

"yes?"

"What's a girl like you doing wandering the forest at night?"

"I don't know, what's a Bounty Hunter like you doing grabbing Kids in the middle of the Forest in the dead of Night?" I ask throwing my most wondered question at him.

He looks at me in surprise, he didn't seem to expect a question to a question. or he didn't get how I figured he was a Bounty Hunter.

I smirked into my food.

"And what makes you think I'm a Bounty Hunter?" he asks suspiciously.

"Beacuse........." I start before stuffing my face again

He twitches in anger that I can be so calm in this situation and not give him a straight answer - but then again he didn't give me a straight answer either.

I can't help but smirk some more.

"Look you seem like a decent kid so I gotta know how a girl like you got such a huge price on your head?" he asked expecting to hear I killed someone or stole something of great value.

"You wouldn't believe me even if I told you" I said letting him hang on my words

He looked at me suspiciously again

"Try me" he boasts.

"I........ did......... Nothing" I state casually

His face drops and he Anime falls as he didn't expect that to be my answer.

I can't help but laugh at his expression.

He twitches in anger once more.

Attacker (Now Bounty Hunter's) POV ~ Short

This kid is impossible, I tried being nice to her, I even undid her mouth and hands and gave her food, but she still won't tell me what she did to get that huge bounty on her head---

Though she is pretty smart to of guessed my profession during the few moments I've spoken with her, the strange thing is that she seemed surprised when I mentioned she even had a bounty on her head to begin with---

What if what the kid's saying is true and she really didn't do anything that deserved a bounty of this quantity, but then why is there a bounty on her head at all?--- I wondered as I watched her finish the food---

Or maybe she's simply playing mind games with me, make me feel bad for her and allow her to get away along with the bounty on her head..... Hmm.... either way I can't be too sure or allow her to escape from right under me--- I re-evaluated both of our positions

The girl then continued to stare blankly at me which was unnerving so I decided to let her have some fresh air by herself before we moved on - I went for a short walk to clear my thoughts.

Toshiro's POV

After I finished my food, I continued to stare blankly at him in turn for his current staring while I was eating - In truth he was starting to freak me out, so I did the only Logical thing there was to do...... shoot it right back at him.

After a few dull moments in silence the affects began to take place as he suddenly wandered off into the brush again vanishing into thin air.

I sat there for a moment, trying to struggle my way out of the ropes when I suddenly remembered.

"Silver..... here boy..... where'd you go and hide yourself?" I called to my little chipmunk friend

I waited a moment when I suddenly felt something furry and ticklish squirming up my shirt and around my neck onto my head.

How didn't I not notice he was in there this entire time? .... weird.

"Silver... Can you chew through the ropes for me?" I asked hopefully and as if he understood me, which by now I suspected that he did.

I heard a little squeak (or whatever sounds chipmunks make) and next thing I knew Silver had been gnawing through the ropes like butter.

The second I was released I held Silver in my hands and gave him a kiss on his head, he returned the favor by curling up next to me on my shoulder, I couldn't help but laugh.

"Good boy Silver, good boy"

I pet his head as I grab my father's sword and weapons the Bounty Hunter had so thoughtfully removed from me while I was tied up, most likely to pawn them off after he sold me, thankfully he never touched my clothing or my jewellery and head wear because he's Not a pervert I thank God for that much at least.

I stare down at the village from the top of the cliff and figure if I can at least make it to their gates

I may be free of my captor - as kind as he was, I wouldn't trust my fate to him seeing as I was about to be sold for gold.

I look at the pathway that I'm on and see that it bends into the same direction as the village so I don't have to scale the hill.

As I make my way down, I pray that finally I may be able to stop and rest without the threat of being robbed or tied up and sold off.

I may finally be free......

Bounty Hunter's POV ~ Even shorter

I leave her alone for a few minutes and this happens?

I underestimated her abilities. Most likely she'll try to get as far away and around as many people as possible... I figured

"Like that village down there!" I gathered my equipment and started after her.

If I don't get her back soon, I'll loose the trail and I'll be forced to go find another bounty. Which would never pay as much as this one...... Considering.

I wonder if she even knows how much she's actually worth.

Toshiro's POV

I'm almost there, Its just a little bit further down so I can't rest now.

why is this path so freaking long?

Thanks to Silver I'm a step ahead of the Big brute.......

though considering he was kind enough to feed me I suppose I'll give him a better nickname.....

"Hm..... Ah, I'll call him Hunter! not very original but still" I muttered out loud, though more to myself

I continued my one sided conversation with Silver who sqeaked and continued to circle my neck then finish by going back down my shirt. I couldn't help but laugh at that...

I heard movement from behind me, I turn my head to see..... Hunter!

he's coming at me again. Perfect. So not.

I run slightly faster than I was going before but he also seems to pick up the pace, he's a lot faster than I gave him credit for and I already knew he was stronger than me......

At the moment at least

I kept running, eventually he got close enough to grab me with his 'monkey arms' as I'll call them, he got the back of my collar lifting me off the ground, as this time I tried to struggle.

"Your a hard kid to catch, your fast I'll give you that but not fast enough"

"Let me Go! I Never did Anything!"

"Sorry kid, but where there's a bounty there's always gonna be someone out for your blood, You got a better chance being taken in by me than some heartless bastard" Hunter says with light concern

I give him my most innocent and desperate face I can fake

Hunter seemed shocked by this and gives a heavy sigh.

"Look, if you come with me peacefully I won't hurt you or tie you up like before" Hunter proposed

"Tempting.... but I'm a Free Spirit and I'd prefer it to stay that way...... you can understand that right?"

"I understand but that's not going to make me just let you go" Hunter replies slightly annoyed.

Suddenly Silver came out of my shirt and bit Hunter on his hand Fast and Hard!

He screamed in pain as he released me, I was about to mke another run for it but I lost my footing and fell right over the cliff's edge.

Crap.

Everything was a blur, I saw a huge Gate with the symbol of a Leaf on it, Silver came out of my shirt.

"S-Silver, go get help..." I whispered softly

I believed he understood what I had asked....... then.......

Everything went black once again.

Kakashi's POV ~ Short

I was out for a walk with my favorite Icha-Icha-Paradise book when suddenly a small Silver Squirrel? Chipmunk? Rodent? was at my feet and squeaking like crazy, I scratched the back of my head as I bent down.

It seemed as if it was trying to tell me something but I didn't understand it.

Suddenly it grabb's my book and runs straight outside the village gates.

"Hey! My Book!" I yell at it as I run after it.

Not moments later outside of the gates I see the Silver creature sitting on my book.

"Ha! Gotcha!" I yell as I pick it up the creature in one hand and dust my book off with the other.

I was about to leave when I heard a faint sound from the brush, I put the rodent down and investigate but what I find is shocking in the least.

Its a young girl, she was wearing a type of cape with a hood, a huge sword, pretty fancy looking earrings and a headband with the symbol of a Full Moon etched into it, she looked all tattered and beat up, she was also unconscious.

the rodent then ran to her and curled up in her chest then continue to squeak rapidly and maybe even desperately.

I understood.

"So, This girl is your Master hu?"

I scratched my head

"You seem to like her a lot to get someone's attention to help her, I guess it'll have to be me then"

I put my book away and lift the girl, carry-ing her bridal style, she twitches in pain and grits her teeth, so I re-position her slightly to avoid where it hurts.

I carry her into the village, Lord 3rd should know about this.

Hokage's POV ~ Short

I heard a knock on my door, I called for them to enter but as I turned around what I saw was the last thing I ever expected to see.

Kakashi was carry-ing a young girl in his arms and she seemed to be ruffed up quite a bit, I put down my pipe and circled aound my desk.

"Well who do we have here?"

"I found her outside the village gates, she seemed pretty beat down so I brought her inside" Kakashi states blankly

Kakashi brought a kid in? that's unusual. Though what I find slightly more unusual is the symbol of her forehead protector. A full moon. A member of an ancient and forgotten clan Eh? Well, who'd of ever known?

"I see, well then lets get the girl some medical treatment, the poor thing seems to be in pain" I conducted as I went back to my desk.

"What do we do with her though?"

"Do? I suppose first we'll take care of her wounds, then after she wakes up wel'll give her food and a bed to rest" I say as if she'd been a member of the family for years.

Kakashi stares blankly

"I suppose"

I watched Kakashi as he left with the girl, I couldn't help but smile,

It seems we have a guest from the Legendary Hitsugaya Clan,

Although I haven't seen one of those symbols in many, many long years, I still remember the markings of their full moon. Though my biggest and main of concerns is why now? why after so long would they decide to make themselves known to the world once again?

Something must have gone wrong. But until such a time comes when the answers are to be revealed..... we'll have to be most patient with her indeed.

I wonder how the girl will take to our humble village.

Kakashi's POV ~ Short

There's something about this girl, I can't quite put my finger on it but there's this nagging feeling that I've seen her before....

Course, not her specifically. That'd be impossible, not to mention weird for someone like me to be thinking of.... but someone like her..... from a long time ago.....

A sense of familiarity. There's an air about her.

Not to mention the large amounts of chakra I'm sensing off her.

Lord 3rd seems to know more than he's letting on but its nothing new, except.....

this mark on her headband.

I'm sure I've seen one some where before, but where?

The sense of familiarity, nagging at the back of my mind, silently daring me to figure it out already before I drive myself crazy over it.

"Excuse me" a nurse says, snapping me out of my thoughts

"Yes?"

"I need a signature from the guardian of the girl you brought in"

I don't know a single thing about this girl. How am I supposed to know who her parents are? Plus the fact I had to carry her inside the gates proposes the thought that she doesn't live anywhere inside of Konoha. Which brings another question

Where the hell did she come from?

"Oh, I guess that'd be me" I state as I sign the paperwork

"Thank You, and you may visit her if you wish, her injuries weren't too severe so she should be fine within the next couple of hours, the doctor will be in shortly" she says as she walks off

Hm.... well it wouldn't hurt to see how she's doing

Toshiro's POV ~ Short

when I woke up again I found myself on a bed, at first I thought I was dreaming until Silver started squeaking and circling my neck again,

I sat up but it hurt like Hell, I looked at myself and it seemed that I'd been healed.....

where am I?

where is this?

Am I in a Hospital or something? --- I wondered as I winced in pain

looking over to my side and noticed all my belongings were still together and in tact.

sighing with relief as I got out of bed.

putting on my boots and my cloak as I re-tied my sword to my waist, they didn't remove my headband or earring which was a good sign, meaning to me they didn't plan to rob me like those thugs in the forest.

I walked over to the window and saw the village as I opened it, they seemed to be calm and at peace, nothing like my home village.

Can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing....

As I was about halfway out the window, someone opened the door behind me.

I turned around to see a tall man with silver hair, he had a mask that covered the lower half of his face and his headband was slanted covering his left eye.

I honestly didn't know what to say or do...

since for one, I was about to escape through the window instead of the door like a normal person.

Hah, since when was I normal?

We stared blankly at each other for a few moments.

Kakashi's POV ~ Short

I opened the door to her room only to find she's gathered all her things, and was making an effort to sneak out of a window.....

she didn't say anything, though neither did I so we ended up staring blankly at each other for quite a long time.

Since it was obvious she was never going to say anything I decided I'd be the one to speak first.

"Yo"

She was hesitant

"Hi?" she questionined, eyeing me

"I'm Kakashi Hatake, and you?"

Maybe she'll at least tell me her name

She looked out the window, then back to me as she seemed to be wondering if she should answer or run as if her life depended on it.

"Toshiro Hitsugaya" she stated after much thought

Her name felt familiar for some reason, like her and her forehead protector, but still and yet again, I couldn't place it. Even though it seemed like it was on the tip of my tongue

"Well Toshiro, were you planning on staying the night or jumping through a Hospital window?"

She seemed surprised by my offer and the fact I wasn't making an effort to stop her. She was hesitant to respond, as if refusing would result in her death.

"Either way"

I shrugged and looked away, course still stealing a glance back at her when she wasn't looking.

She looked at me carefully as if she were analyzing my every word and movement, like if she looked away for even a second she'd be fighting for her life.

Which in itself I thought was very strange. Why would a girl at her age be so paranoid?

she looked out the window and back to me multiple times before slowly pulling herself back into the room and straightening her cape, still watching me carefully for any sudden movement.

I smiled as I looked back to her.

She only nodded.

I suppose that's a start, wouldn't want to make her feel uncomfortable and deciding that she wants to run away in the dead of night. I have this feeling though that if she stays, there'll be far too many more questions popping up around her and her mysterious back-round.

She seems like the kind of person, that if the situations goes bad, she'll disappear forever.

The thought may not have concerned me half as much.... if I hadn't been the one who found her in the first place. I may have just gotten myself into a situation where I'll become attached to her, but I can't allow myself to become sentimental over it..... because for one, I don't even know this girl and second, she isn't even a member of this village.

If and when she decides to go back home. I wouldn't be able to stand in the way.

Toshiro's POV ~ Even shorter

After the stare down he told me his name was Kakashi Hatake. As if that name was supposed to mean something to me?

He may of been wearing a mask like Hunter was, but HE wasn't trying to tie me up and sell me off.

At least, not at the moment but.... who could say for sure?

As I was sitting in the window it was like he didn't care either way if I'd decided to stay or leave and that calmed me for some reason I can't explain.

Its probably just relief at the thought nobody here knows me personally and I can make a quick get-away without any hassle or anyone either missing me or coming after me.

As if I don't have enough people after me.

I stared at him a moment longer before I decided to give this new village and this man a chance, I lowered myself back into the room, still watching him closely.

If he or anyone here makes one wrong move. I'm gone.

He smiled at me, I nodded my head.

For now all he's getting out of me is my name, I don't know what to expect here. And I have no idea when the next time I'll run into Hunter again..... Maybe its beter for me, taking my chances here.

Kakashi's POV ~ Even shorter

Well she seems tense but it looks like she's slowly warming up to me, though very carefully and not fully trusting.

Again, it seems her paranoia is expressing itself. Even for being a Ninja, its suspicious enough without the fact she's just a kid.

Does she think I'd hurt her?

Though considering the state I found her in that might not be too far off. --- Why was she out there? And why is she so on edge? Was she fighting someone or running from something? Maybe both, but its too soon to jump to conclusions.

If she was fighting someone, who could it of been?

And if she was running from something, what was she running from?

So many questions surround this girl, and I've only just met her....

Mentally sighing to myself

Having this girl here will be a challenge indeed.
