Delilah hardly recocngized Julius. His skin was so pale, and yet his blonde hair was damp with sweat. His eyes moved underneath his eyelids, following whatever dreams he was having. His expression was slightly frustrated.
So this was what it looked like to be in a coma.
Everything seemed so ... different. Was this the young man whom Delilah had been laughing and joking with merely hours before? Everything about him had changed. At least his breathing was normal.
But how could anything ever be normal again?
The worst part about this was waiting. Delilah hated it. It wasn't the kind of waiting where you KNEW that the person would wake up. It could takes days, weeks, months, years, even.
And what was the worst was that the doctors didn't expect Julius to even wake up. He would just ... fade away.
How had this happened? Delilah tried to block the memories, but they just came flooding back ...
