Got up and left without a warning.
A pregnant woman, on Easter morning.
You were never anything to miss.
Cause to me you did not exist.
But for that woman and that boy you left, I’m saying this -
Song lyrics flew around his head, the anthem that was his mother already forming in him mind. He smiled at the memories playing in his head, they never had much, but Sophia always made them feel like they had everything. He would miss her deeply, the pain would never leave him.
He stood in the woodland area across from his house watching his grand-parents on the front porch greeting the people who came in droves to pay their respects. He lit up another cigarette, closing his eyes while inhaling deeply as the smoke burned his throat. When he opened his eyes he saw a truck pull up, it was black, tinted back windows. Obviously fucking knew which annoyed Frank slightly, he didn’t know anyone who could afford to drive a truck like that. He stepped forward slight as he watched in complete disbelief. Anger announced full-fledged war in Frank as he walked quickly out of the woodland area and across the street to the man who stepped out of his shiny new truck. Frank grabbed him by the throat and pinned him against the Truck as a blond woman came running around from the other side screaming bloody murder.
“The fuck you doing here? You aren’t welcome” Frank spat in anger at his father. The older man gasped for air, his face turning red from the lack of air he was able to get due to Frank’s hand who was surprisingly strong, and he wasn’t even trying all that hard. The blond bitch tried grabbing at Frank to let go of her husband, He turned his head to look at her, his eyes burning his rage. “Get your fucking hand off me cunt”
“Frank, let go of him immediately” Franks Grandfather stood watching his grandson pinning his only son against the truck, his heart breaking for the boy. Frank let go with a jerk, making sure to cut the oxygen off that bit more.
“Always fucking sticking up for him. He is not allowed in my house, he takes one step inside and I will kill him.” Frank walked inside slamming the door behind him. Frank Sr shook his head, it pained him to see his grandson hurting so much, and it pained him even more that his own son was the reason for half that pain, if not all of his anger. He never raised his son to walk out on his family but he did it anyway and he felt somewhat to blame for it. Maybe he didn’t raise him right?
“Franklin this really isn’t the time nor the place for your games. What is it that you want?” He watched his son as he rubbed his neck, he had controlled his breathing thankfully.
“I just came to pay my respect when the kid came outa no-where and attacked me. He should be locked up.”
“I’m calling the cops, he should be thrown jail” The blonde bitch pipped up, clinging to her husband as she pulled out her phone.
“If you even think about it I WILL let him loose on you. The boy just lost his mother, not even a year after losing his brother. He is bound to be on edge, especially with you both turn up out of the blue.”
“What? Jason is dead? How..”
“Oh don’t act like you give a shit daddyo, you hated Jason because he was different from all the other kids. You were embarrassed because all your little fuck buddies at the office had perfect little angels and you were left with a fuck up and a disabled kid. Oh sorry blondie you didn’t know he had two kids? Was it me or Jason you didn’t know about? Which one where you more embarrassed about daddy? Oh btw I love dick, just in case you weren’t informed. I guess I did inherit something from you after all..”
“Frank that is enough.” Frank Sr had heard enough from the rambling boy. “Frank please son, go inside and see your grandmother, she’s been worried about you.” Frank sr had his hand placed gently on his grandsons shoulder. Frank bowed his head and nodded, turning on his heels and heading inside once again, but his time into the arms of his awaiting grandmother.
“Son? He’s not you son” Franks father snorted.
“I helped raise him, I watched him grow up. Not you. He is more my son than he ever was yours. I suggest you leave now before I call the cops. I have stood by and watched you tear that boy down a million times and I was the one to pick him up again. He’s right, I do always stick up for you, hoping and praying that one day you will come to your senses and see what an amazingly talented kid he is and love him like you should but I am done sticking up for you. I am done holding your hand through life and making excuses for your mistakes. Leave and never come back. I don’t ever want to see your face again do you understand me? I SAID DO YOU UNDER STAND ME ???” Frank Sr blood pressure hit the roof, he felt slightly dizzy but shook it off.
“Yes sir, I understand” Franklin Iero and his wife got into their truck and drove away. Frankin Sr breathed out a breath he didn’t know he had been holding. He felt a slight pain in his heart as he watched his only son drive away. Deep down he was hoping his son would fight him, demand he be allowed stay to be there for his son, but once again Frank Sr had been disappointed. A hand was placed on his shoulder, he turned to see Cole smiling sadly at him. He had no doubt seen him send his son away and felt embarrassed and guilty
“Don’t, you did the right thing. You did it for Frank and that’s what matters.” Frank Sr nodded as he heard the words the young man spoke to him. He was right, anything he did for Franks benefit or to protect Frank was absolutely the right thing to do. He was grateful Frank had a friend like Cole, he was protective of Frank and always did what was best for him. He loved Frank like a brother and Frank Sr couldn’t ask for anything more from the boy. When Frank was growing up, he was the type of kid to get himself into situations he could never get out of, act first think later. When Cole came around he pulled Frank back slightly, only slightly. He was the brains and kept Frank out of trouble. With Cole around Frank Sr new that Frank Jr would always be safe and out of harm’s way. Expect for when he was around the boy that stood beside Cole. Gerard mother-fucking Way. Frank Sr sighed.
“Gerard it’s nice to see you back in once piece. Not that I ever doubted your abilities. How is it out there?”
“Rough but we are holding our own. Hoping to be home for good by the fall.” Gerard smiled sheepishly at the older man. He felt slightly embarrassed around him considering the last time he saw him he was fucking his grandson senseless in the pool. Frank Sr chuckled to himself as he watched the younger man’s face turn red.
“Come on inside boys, my wife has cooked enough food to feed the entire American army and their enemies”
