“With this, they will HAVE to acknowledge me!” Naruto Namikaze smirked with confidence as he ran past tree by tree, getting as far away from the Hokage's residence as he can. On his back was the Scroll of Sealing which he stole right under from his father's nose.
Serves him right, the teenager thought to himself.
He loves his family dearly, he really does, but with them both focusing the majority of their attention to his older sisters, Mine and Fuyu, it had grated his nerves. A lot. The two of them were considered geniuses of the siblings, yes, but if at least his father and mother could just take some time to teach him a thing or two, or heck, teach him how to fight, then he would not have failed the exams three times in a row. He was now in the process of doing a special test in order to get his forehead protector. A test that involved the Scroll of Sealing he is carrying.
A sad smile spread across the lips on the only son of the Namikaze family. He did not understand why he still loved them; even after they had not been there for him for the most of his life. His older sister, Fuyu was a total bitch to him and thought of him as an annoyance. Someone who he thought isn't worthwhile. His second oldest sister Mine, despite being more friendly towards him always had more 'important' things that had taken up her time.
His dad is always busy and is barely ever home. But every time he was, he always appraises his sisters and always says 'why he wasn't up to their standard'. His mom, she, well, it felt like he didn't even matter to her. She doesn't take notice of him and it feels like he wasn't even there in her radar most of the time.
He was their son. Their youngest child. Yet, he felt like a complete stranger in his own home.
Minato, Kushina, Mine and Fuyu had no idea just how much Naruto wanted them to acknowledge him. To say that he mattered to them. He, just, wanted to hear his parents and sisters say they were proud of him. Was that so much to ask?
Stopping at a wide clearing Naruto sat down and unslung the scroll from his back before unrolling it in front of him. He started to read.
“...Shadow Clone Jutsu?” The young boy read with interest. Naruto tapped the corner of his mouth in thought. While it is his worst subject, the Shadow Clone sounded interesting; if he doesn't see anything else that is interesting in the Scroll of Sealing then he'll come back to that.
Reading on Naruto came across something else that caught his interest. A seal of some sort. Narrowing his eyes Naruto racked his brain to try and remember anything about this particular seal. It was with a snap of his fingers that he remembered. It was a container seal. Easily activated by channelling chakra into it.
Doing that and a poof of smoke later, a scroll was lying on top of the Scroll of Sealing. Unrolling the scroll Naruto's eyes went wide when he realised what type of scroll it was.
“A Summoning Jutsu?” The teen murmured looking at the technique with keen interest. The entry for the technique didn't say what it does. Naruto KNEW it was a summoning technique of course; he just didn't know what the summoning would bring.
It could be anything.
He knew what to do of course. He had heard Fuyu explain to Mine that a summoning needed to be signed in blood before it can be used. Wincing in pain, Naruto bit his bottom lip until he drew blood. He dipped his forefinger on his bloodied lip and pressed the finger on the scroll.
He was about to preform the necessary hand seals until a kunai stabbed into the ground beside him. Startled, Naruto looked over his shoulder in the direction the kunai came from only to be kicked in the face and away from the scrolls by a familiar blonde.
“There you are, you idiot!” Fuyu Namikaze shouted angrily and snarlingly as she looked down at the whimpering form of her little brother, who was holding his now bloodied nose. “You ruined a perfectly good day by stealing the Hokage's Scroll of Sealing!” She yelled at him just as she kicked her brother in the stomach, causing him to gasp and cough in pain as he curled up. She glared down at him with furious eyes. “Next time you do something as stupid like this, I will beat the living hell out of you!” She snarled, before giving him another kick, this time on the leg.
“Idiot.” Snarling dispassionately Fuyu turned around to pick up the Scroll of Sealing and put it on her back. “I'll be sure to tell dad about this!” She said before turning around to leave her whimpering, bloody faced brother in the clearing.
Just as she was about to walk back home, the blonde haired chunin jumped out of the way, just in time, as a large windmill shuriken flew past her head and hit the ground just millimetres from hitting Naruto's leg. Fuyu immediately pulled out a kunai from her kunai pouch and took a defensive stance.
“Well, well, well, if it isn't one of the so called 'genius' daughters of the Fourth Lord Hokage.” The arrogant voice belonging to the academy assistant Mizuki made Fuyu snap her head up in the direction the voice came from. She saw her attacker, the white haired bastard standing tall on a tree branch with a vicious smirk and another windmill shuriken on his back.
It wasn't hard for Fuyu to connect the dots and she glared daggers at the traitor. “You...! You're the one who got Naruto to take the scroll, aren't you?” She stated with narrowed eyes; a deep scowl pulling at her lips.
Unseen by the two Naruto slowly crawled away while keeping an eye between his sister and Mizuki.
“That's right.” Mizuki cockily replied as he slowly took the windmill shuriken from his back. He grinned a sickening smile. “That boy is so childish. Tell him that there is a secret way to become a genin, and he leapt for it like an idiot. Heh. No questions asked. And all because he wanted to make his family proud.” He gave Fuyu a cruel smirk as he chuckled sinisterly. “No matter, once I kill you there is nothing to stop me from getting out of this place.”
Fuyu scoffed dismissively. “What makes you think you can--” She didn't get the chance to finish that sentence, because without warning, wires that were carefully hidden on the ground suddenly shot up and tightly wrapped and coiled around her body and the Scroll of Sealing.
Fuyu cried out in shock as she fell to the ground her arms clamped tightly against her body.
“Did you really think I'm stupid enough to not booby trap this place?” Mizuki rhetorically asked with a crazed laugh as he jumped down from the tree branch. “This is the place I said I would meet up with him.” He shrugged his shoulders and carelessly, confidently, looked around the area before giving Fuyu a mocking smile. “Of course, just in case anyone found him before I did I put down some traps as a precaution.” The clearly insane man brought his hand back and was about to launch his weapon. “Now...breathe your last breath...”
But before he could launch his giant shuriken both Fuyu and Mizuki looked over to Naruto when they heard him exclaim the words, “Summoning Jutsu!” Before he was enveloped by a cloud of smoke.
X.X.X.X
A dark clothed individual stood inside of the smoke cloud. He hummed quietly as the smoke cloud obstructed his vision completely. It filled his nose, his mouth, his eyes, but he didn't feel it entering him. It didn't affect him. And the surrounding smoke is so thick he couldn't even see his own hand when he brought it up to his face. He was not at all surprised at what had happened to him. He had been expecting it for some time to tell the truth.
He had seen ones with the same scenario but had ended with a different outcome, a different person summoned. He even saw a scenario where a very advanced, 7ft tall animatronic fox of all things had been summoned.
He knew Naruto Namikaze, the youngest sibling of Jinchuuriki's Mine and Fuyu Namikaze better than anyone else. Naruto Namikaze is someone everyone thought a nuisance and a waste of time. Someone with no talent but wanted to try so hard to prove himself to his peers.
And they would be right, if not for the fact that his parents didn't bother to teach him and instead reserved their time for his two older sisters. Compared to everyone else who was in the same year as him in the ninja academy, Naruto is under trained and was under a lot of stress and pressure all because he is constantly being compared to his older sisters. The geniuses of the family.
Also when compared to the already trained students who already unlocked their chakra and had their own fighting style to fall back on, Naruto is just an under trained boy that is unwillingly way in over his head.
“What the!?” He heard Mizuki yell out in shock.
Ah. Yes. Mizuki. He never did meet the white haired man where he originally came from. He was killed off after he tried to trick some would be genin into stealing the forbidden scroll of sealing. And at the time it had happened he had been undergoing a... 'hard pressured' training regiment.
“What the hell did you summon, you fucking brat?” Mizuki snarled demandingly.
A young boy growled defiantly. “Why the hell would I tell you?”
Ah and there is the boy in question. Naruto Namikaze. His 'summoner' he had a feeling what was going to happen next.
“Fine, then! I'll just kill it before you can get the chance to use it!” The white haired man exclaimed dementedly, the sound of something big being thrown was heard.
Quietly scoffing the individual took his hand out of his pocket, held it out in front of him palm open, and lazily brought it down before putting his back back into his pocket.
The sound of something hitting the ground, as well as the gasps of disbelief from Fuyu and Mizuki was heard.
X.X.X.X
An astonished Fuyu and Mizuki stared as the thrown shuriken suddenly stopped in mid-air several meters from the smoke cloud and gasped when it dropped to the ground.
As the smoke cloud thinned out, a silhouette of a person could be seen standing casually. And as the smoke dispersed completely Naruto, Fuyu and Mizuki finally saw who was summoned in detail.
His attire consists of a thick black hooded coat, black and thick tracksuit bottoms and matching coloured trainers. His hood is up and a tattered red scarf is loosely wrapped around it, covering the entirety of his lower face while the rest was concealed in shadow underneath.
Mizuki and Fuyu didn't know why, but they could feel there is something really off about this person.
The hooded individual cocked his head to the side as he looked directly at Mizuki, as if he were regarding him.
“Mizuki. Age 27.” Everyone in the clearing widened their eyes upon hearing a young man's voice from the summoned person. From his tone the three of them guessed he is somewhere in his mid-to-late teens. Ignoring the looks he was being given the summoned being continued. “Cannot stand having anyone looking down on him. Will do anything to gain power. Does not value morals or teamwork, and is willin' to sacrifice anything to achieve his goals. Is an underhanded and ruthless individual, manipulating a friendship for his own ends, and later on a mission murdered a comrade in cold blood who had suffered a...minor injury...” The individual did a reprimanding tsk tsk while shaking his head disapprovingly.
Mizuki as he heard every word coming from the teenager's mouth took several steps back with a freaked out expression. He stared at the hooded with wide shaking eyes, “How do you know all that?!” He demanded with widely bared teeth.
“I know everything. Past. Present. And future. With the type of job I do nothing is hidden from me. I even know who you're really working for. That seal must've really hurt when you first got it.”
Mizuki went pale on the face as he instinctively reached for the side of his neck. He told no one of that! How had he found out about it!?
“I have watched many timelines.” The dark clothed individual walked forward with Mizuki taking a step back with every one the summoned person did. “A lot of them follow the same template as the originator. You, Mizuki are very, very similar to the Mizuki in the originator timeline.” He took his hands out of his coat pockets, revealing much to the horror of everyone in the clearing they were skeletal hands. “I know all your moves. Your techniques. Your abilities. They are a carbon copy of the originator.” He raised his hand so his palm is aiming at the man causing him to grit and bare his teeth with angered fear. “It made you so. Very. Predictable.”
Mizuki had no idea what this, skeleton handed THING, in front of him was babbling on about! Timelines? The originator? It all made little to no sense to him!
And when those words left his mouth, the skeleton flicked his fore and middle digits. Mizuki let out a pain filled gasp when he felt himself get bound tightly. A quick look over of himself revealed there was nothing binding him. So with that in mind he struggled. Nothing happened. He struggled again. But, like his previous attempt, nothing happened. He tried to move his arms, but like his previous attempts nothing happened. They were clamped tightly against his body.
Mizuki finding he could not move anything was on the verge of panicking. So he glared at the only being who is responsible. The summon.
“What is this! What have you done to me?” Demandingly exclaimed a frantic, angry and panicking Mizuki.
“Now, now, why on earth would I tell a moron like you?” The hooded person rhetorically and mockingly replied. After a few seconds of thinking he turned to look over his shoulder, his neck craned up towards' the sky. He looked back at Mizuki then towards the sky, then back at Mizuki again.
Mizuki had a very bad feeling. He did not like how the teenager was switching looks between him and the sky. He knew whatever was going on through that teens' head won't bode well for him. What unnerved him the most is that the hooded teenager was looking at the sun.
“Well.” Naruto's summon said. “I would say 'it's been fun', but that would be a lie.” The skeletal summon raised the hand he was pointing at Mizuki; much to the surprise of Naruto, Fuyu the white haired man was lift off the ground against his will.
Mizuki on the other hand is shouting out curses and threats; all the while trying to struggle against the force that is binding him.
As this happened Naruto who was now on his feet, asked his summon. “Who are you?”
“I am just a Revenant. And if you want to call me somethin' other than Revenant...well, heh, you can me 'Geno'.” The now named 'Geno' answered without looking at the young boy.
Geno suddenly went lax and stared directly at the white haired man. Mizuki could now see a small part of the Revenant's face from under the hood, as the eye sockets were giving off a faint glow.
Remember that bad feeling he's been having minutes ago? It increased in size now and his instincts were telling him to get as far away from here as possible. He would have done so by now if his arms and legs weren't pinned.
“It's a nice day today. The sun is shining. The skies are clear. It's...perfect for a suntan. Why won't I...help you out a little?”
That was the only warning Mizuki had. Geno had swiftly turned and threw his arm out towards the sun. Mizuki never got a chance to scream. With a thunderclap that could be heard for miles the traitor was already several thousand miles in the sky and is well on his way to breaking through the three layers of atmosphere's of the planet.
Mizuki would be reduced to ashes by the time he reaches the second layer of the planet's atmosphere.
With the annoyance out of the way Geno put one hand back into his coat pocket as he turned to look at the bound Fuyu, lain down on the floor bound by ninja wires. Her expression is a mixture of fear, awe, and fascination. Not that he cared. He is beyond caring what others thought of him. He spent the first 15 years of his life undergoing brutal training, while being observed by a bunch of power hungry maniacs who wanted to exploit him for their own ends.
Fifteen years of endurance, and adding another 50 on top, Geno became numb to the feelings of others. But that does not mean he is completely heartless, he just won't go out of his way to help every person he comes across who has a sob story.
Those who manage to catch his interest, such as this timelines' version of Naruto, are an exception.
With a sigh Geno snapped his fingers, and the ninja wires that tightly bound Fuyu became loose. The oldest of the Namikaze siblings feeling the pressure of the ninja wire loosen up immediately got herself unbound and got to her feet and quickly put a distance between herself and the skeleton.
Geno darkly noticed that she was moving away from her younger brother instead of going over to protect him like any sibling should. He knew her type.
Turning away from her the skeleton brought his gaze to the bloodied face of Naruto Namikaze. The one who brought him here. Putting his remaining hand in his coat pocket Geno turned and walked away from the clearing but not before calling out.
“Naruto Namikaze. Walk with me.” His tone brokered no argument.
As much as he didn't want to Naruto had a gut feeling that not complying will not end well. So he did what he was told, leaving his oldest sister behind.
Fuyu didn't think twice. She immediately turned and ran to Konohagakure to get help. Despite of her finding her little brother to be annoying Fuyu still cared about him.
And seeing what Geno could do with minimal effort... She didn't dare go against him.
Not by herself.
X.X.X.X
There was a comfortable, yet, underlining tension in the air as Naruto and Geno walked past tree by tree. Naruto didn't know where Geno was going and truth be told he is scared of him. His appearance combined with what he had seen him do had put him on edge. Angering him is NOT an option.
However the silence has been getting to the young boy and it wasn't long until he broke the silence.
“Are you angry?”
Geno glanced at the young Namikaze from under his hood. The unseen gaze underneath the hood made Naruto shiver.
“No.” Geno eventually replied; he looked ahead of him as he added, “I'm glad actually. Staying where I was watching the timelines day after day got boring. And before you ask, no, I can't tell you where I came from prior to you summoning me. There are eyes and ears everywhere.”
A few seconds later Naruto decided to ask another question. One that hopefully he will be allowed to know. “What did you mean by 'timelines' and 'originator'? Can you explain it to me?”
Both Naruto and Geno came to a stop with Geno casually leaning up against a tree and Naruto sitting on a good sized boulder. Geno craned his neck up, and tried to think of the best way for him to explain in the simplest of ways.
Geno not seeing the harm decided to give the boy a basic run down. “Okay, uh, think of the originator as a book. You followin' me so far?” He looked at Naruto to see if the young boy understood what he wanted him to do. Seeing the 13 year old nod his head Geno looked back up and continued. “Alright, well, the originator is a book. When it is first read, you don''t know what is going to happen; there are surprises you did not see coming; some of which you liked, others not so much. And once you read the book from start to finish several times you know what is going to happen from the back of your hand.” He paused for a moment to collect his thoughts and to let Naruto take in his words.
“Now, timelines, are kind of like 'what if' scenarios. A lot of these timelines follow the same events that happened in the originator, but branches off to something that sometimes is completely different to the original. Some of these have different circumstances.”
Remembering what Geno said before to Mizuki, and what he said now, Naruto is able to determine that this is a timeline that branched off of the originator. And if his hunch is right then there are many differences here. “So from what I remember you saying to Mizuki, this is a 'timeline', and if my hunch is right, a 'what if' scenario. And if that is true then a lot of stuff may be different.” He looked at Geno. “What is the difference between this timeline and the originator?”
“You caught on.” Said a pleased Geno. He sighed, now it's time for the hard part. “To answer your question: in the originator timeline you are an orphan.” He said, much to Naruto's surprise and shock. “Your parents are dead and you have no siblings. Your surname is Uzumaki instead of Namikaze and you are the host to the Nine Tailed Fox not your sisters. You don't even know who your parents are. You live alone in an apartment and nearly everyone in Konohagakure ignores your very existence. You're a loud mouthed idiot with little common sense and a short attention span, and you have little to no friends. Those are some of the things that are in the originator.”
“There's more?!”
Geno looked at Naruto again. “Oh yes.” He purred, and took enjoyment at the shocked disbelief on the boy's face. “There is a lot more. But I won't go into them. So don't worry. But compared to my timeline yours is a bit closer to the originator.” He concluded; it took a few seconds for the skeleton to realise what he said before he let out a silent curse at his slip of the words.
“You're an alternate too?!” The wide eyed boy exclaimed, pointing at Geno with stupefaction. When Geno nodded with reluctance, Naruto's eyes went wide even more upon remembering his skeletal hands. “What happened to you? How did you become a skeleton?”
Geno didn't answer immediately; he looked up to the sky and thought. After five seconds, the skeleton finally answered. “All I'm going to say is that I had a really bad time in my timeline and leave it at that.” Suddenly Naruto felt the atmosphere around him thicken, until it was almost hard for him to breathe. “Do you understand?” There was an underlying threat as he looked at Naruto from under his hood.
Suddenly there was a pressure in the air. And Naruto felt his lungs compact and compress against their will. Naruto felt an unnerving chill run up his back and frantically nodded in confirmation to show he did understand.
“Good.”
And just like that the pressure let up and Naruto no longer felt his lungs compact and compress in on itself and took in several gulps of fresh air.
“Ah, shit, I'm sorry about that.” The skeleton apologised, feeling a bit of guilt on what he had done. “But I had to get my point across. There are a lot of things about my past that I don't like discussing. Understand?”
Naruto didn't say anything but nevertheless he nodded to show he did understand.
“Okay.” Geno pushed off the tree something that caused Naruto to get up off the ground. “Seeing as everything is alright I'll be heading back to the void.” He said; seeing Naruto opening his mouth to likely protest against this The Revenant quickly added. “I'll be keeping an eye on you from there, so, if you want me, then don't be afraid to give me a shout-out.” With his words said Geno rolled his shoulders before walking off into the forestry.
“Wait! Don't go!”
“Don't worry.” Geno replied without stopping and Naruto could feel the smirk on Geno's lips when he spoke. “I'll be there beside you quicker than you can blink.” Then he saw the atmosphere around Geno ripple like water. The air began to split in half like water in front of the Revenant, a pitch black void in the middle and he stepped inside.
But just before it sealed up behind him, Geno turned around and looked at Naruto and pointed at his own face saying, “Oh. By the way, kid, you may want to clean up the blood on your face.”
Then the rift closed up leaving Naruto in the clearing. It took nearly a full minute for the 13 year old to regain his composer. With his gaze not leaving the last place he saw Geno Naruto, who was rubbing away the dried blood from his face, slowly turned around until he had no choice but to take his eyes away and made his way back to the inner walls of Konohagakure.

Later that day Naruto was found by the ANBU and a stoic faced Minato and Kushina. However seeing their youngest child safe and healthy – excluding the bloodied face – the stone cold expressions they sported was replaced with relief and the two parents brought their son into a tight hug.
However they did question why there was a lot of dried blood on his face and Naruto told them it was Fuyu who caused it when she found him and proceeded to kick him in several places on his body. The two parents narrowed their eyes in anger and shared a look.
It seems Fuyu had neglected to tell them she had attacked him on purpose...
With so much going on in their minds, Minato and Kushina had all but forgotten about the strange dark clothed man Naruto had summoned to save them. Something that Naruto is thankful for and continued to keep silent about.
Naruto, later to his joy, was told by his father he's allowed to become a ninja. He joined Team 7 with Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha that is lead by his only surviving student.
X.X.X.X
Land of Wave, One Month Later.
On his knees an exhausted and hurt Naruto was taking in deep gulps of air as he stared ahead with fierce eyes. Everything had taken a turn for the worse. Their first C-Rank mission started out simple enough. Escort a drunken architect called Tazuna back to his home in Wave Country and stay there as a protection detail for an entire month while he and his workers work on getting the bridge built.
The level of threat was small since all they had to look out for were bandits. And they could handle bandits. But instead of bandits they were attacked by ninja. A couple of deserters or 'Missing Nin' from the Land of Water. After a close shave with the two Missing Ninja, they learned from Tazuna himself that there is a business tycoon called Gato who is practically sucking the Land of Wave dry, leaving it in poverty. At the behest of Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, they continued on with the mission.
They encountered another Missing Ninja. A man called Zabuza who was once part of a legendary group called 'Seven Swordsmen' based in the Land of Water, or something like that. He wasn't paying attention as at the time he, along with Sasuke, was busy trying to get Kakashi out of a trap he had gotten himself stuck inside of.
To make a long story short: they kicked his ass, Kakashi had used too much chakra in the fight and was bed ridden for an entire week. They learned a tree walking exercise and then came to the bridge once the week was finished. They duked it out for a bit, and now they were tired, bordering on being completely exhausted from the fight. Sasuke had been incapacitated and is now out of commission for the rest of the fight.
Then to make matters worse Gato, a man wearing a black coloured business suit with glasses and a walking cane, shows up at the last minute with an army of bandits and revealed he had been planning to back stab Zabuza from the very beginning!
“Dammit. Not like this. Not on my first C-Rank!” Naruto breathed out with quick blinking eyes. There had to be at least three hundred of them. Despite having Kakashi and Zabuza there with them he fully knew they were tired and low on chakra after they spent so much time fighting one another, and he also knew they would not be able to take on so many bandits at the same time. He needed help. They needed help. Suddenly, he remembered, he craned his neck and cried out loudly, “Geno! Help!” His yelling had brought everyone's attention on to him; but he did not care. They needed the help and there is one person he knows that can possibly give them that help!
For several terse seconds it was quiet. There wasn't a sound. Gato sneered at the boy and opened his mouth to make a rude comment. But before he could, Gato along with everyone on the bridge, saw to their shock and disbelief the air beside Naruto ripple. It then split in half like water was separating and in the middle of the separated water is a pitch black void. A rift in the fabric of reality itself had been opened.
And from inside of the rift they heard a young, masculine voice speak out.
“Heh heh heh heh. I was wondering when you would call on me, kiddo.” Hearing the unfamiliar voice speak to his mentor's son with such familiarity had alarmed Kakashi and put him on edge. As far as he and everyone else knew Naruto is a loner and he has little to no one who can he call 'friends' to anyone in Konohagakure.
Emerging from the rift is a strangely clothed person. From his tone and height Kakashi deduced this person is a few years older than Naruto and he wore a thick black hooded coat that is up, concealing the entirety of his head, matching coloured trousers in thick material and shoes. He has a tattered red scarf loosely wrapped over his shoulders and the bottom half of his hood, covering the lower part of his face while the rest is kept in shadow.
Kakashi and Zabuza couldn't help but feel unnerved by his very presence him. They could not for any reason known to them understand why they're uneasy around this new arrival.
Now fully out of the rift Geno stretched his legs for a quick second before taking in the sight of the bandit army opposite him.
“Mhmm. A couple of hundred bandits.” He said with a tilted head. “It seems almost unfair.” He paused, thinking, and chuckled darkly. “For them anyway.” Geno then looked down at Naruto, completely disregarding everything and everyone in the area in favour of the boy who first summoned him a month ago. “It's a good thing you called me here when you did kiddo. You wouldn't have had a ghost of a chance getting out of this situation alive if you didn't.”
Naruto looked up at Geno with a hopeful look on his exhausted face. “Does that mean...” He asked trailing off before he could finish his sentence.
“Yeah-” Geno said before he quickly looked up and raised a skeletal hand in front of his face. Those who saw the skeletal hand took a moment to comprehend what they were seeing. When they realised they were not seeing things and that the teenager went pale on the face He let out a low, unnerving chuckle as he saw a steel crossbow bolt floating in mid air, several inches from hitting his palm. “-Mhmm, it, uh, seems like someone is in a hurry to die. Let me speed it up for you.”
Geno twirled his finger and the steel bolt turned around; once the tip faced the opposite way the skeleton flicked his wrist and the bolt shot forward and embedded itself in the forehead of a bandit holding a crossbow. The man's head jerked back sharply and he fell on his back.
Gato happened to be directly beside the man that got the bolt to the head. He recoiled when the man fell on his back dead. If the bolt was aimed a little more to the left and lowered a bit then it would've been him who had a bolt in his forehead not the now dead man laying on the floor.
Gritting his teeth and narrowing his eyes in anger Gato pointed his cane at Geno. “The first to kill him will personally receive 150,000 ryo from me!” He exclaimed.
Hearing the promise of gaining a lot of money the bandits regained their courage and cheered. With their weapons brandished threateningly at Geno the army roared ran past Gato to get at him.
Geno exhaled with exasperation. He couldn't help but shake his head with disappointment. Such a shame; the morons didn't get the memo. With a sigh Geno calmly watched the bandit party running to him with their weapons raised threateningly.
However they all came to a resounding stop and everyone there stared with a look of horrified awe when they saw a gigantic fox-like skull, bleached in white appear behind Geno like a mirage. It is 30 feet wide in terms of width and length and had sharp carnivore like teeth and four long, sharp canines at the front of its maw.
Unknown to them the giant mammal is actually the Nine Tails, Kurama, from Geno's timeline. Or rather what's left of it after the destruction of said timeline. And much like Geno, Kurama and his siblings had become a Revenant, or rather a variation of one. They still use chakra but it's a lot more dangerous than the one they would usually use.
It's the same for Geno too.
With his hand back in his coat pocket, and a giant floating fox skull behind him, Geno became an imposing individual to look at. Kakashi who was there when the Nine Tails attacked Konohagakure was more than a little wary to be near the fox skull and the one that commanded it and he slowly edged away from them both.
“You all have committed so many sins during your lifetime. Pillaging. Raping. Murdering. Stealing. And those are just a few of the things you've done.” Geno said to the bandits. Thanks to his status as a Revenant, if he wanted to, he can see their sins with just a single glance.
No matter how minimal it is or how much you want to think and convince yourself that you did no wrong, he would still be able to see it.
And these bandits they did a lot of horrible things in their life time. They didn't care how many lives they ruined and they were proud of what they've done.
Geno then looked directly at Gato, who was standing there, looking at the giant fox skull with a petrified look on his face. He pointed at him saying, “You Gato, you have a lot of sins stacked up: kidnapping women and children and enslaving them. Holding them as blackmail to keep those you pissed off in line. Paying off people to save your own skin. Back-stabbed those who weren't useful to you. Everywhere, every place you went, you enforced your rule, killed any who would rebel against you and then you bled them dry until there was nothing left.”
And just like the bandits he employed Gato didn't care how many lives he had ruined or ended to get what he wanted. And what he wanted was money. And as long as he got the money then nothing else mattered to him.
As the giant fox skull opened its mouth Geno stepped out of its way giving it a clear shot at the bandits and Gato himself. Inside of its maw a small ball of orange coloured energy formed.
Before the bandits or Gato could react, a large orange beam of pure chakra the width of the bridge itself shot out of its maw and extended towards Gato and his bandit army. It only lasted but for a moment; but the damage was already done. The beam consumed them all and reduced them to nothing. When the beam of energy faded everyone was shocked and terrified to see there was nothing left of them. They simply ceased to be.
Its job done the giant floating fox skull went back to where it had came from. Geno meanwhile had walked over to the still on his knees Naruto, with a skeletal hand extended out for him to grab.
Seeing the offered hand Naruto stared at it for a few seconds and took it. As Geno pulled him to his feet Naruto said, “I never would have thought you were that strong.”
Geno scoffed in a joking manner and put his hand back into his coat pocket. “Just because I'm a skeleton doesn't mean I'm weak. Besides I saw the situation you were in, so I did the most logical thing--”
“Going overkill on their asses!” Naruto and Geno finished at the exact same time.
“Ah-ha-ha! Great minds think alike!” Geno then sighed with feign disappointment. “It's to bad no one else shares the same thoughts as we do.”
“Naruto.” Said a cautious Kakashi prompting both Naruto and Geno to look at him. They saw the grey haired man looking at Geno with both wariness and suspicion in his eyes. The skeleton noticed that Zabuza and his apprentice was nowhere to be seen. They must've bailed out when everyone else was distracted by his Kurama laying waste to everyone in front of him. He was taken away from his thoughts when he heard Kakashi saying, “You have some explaining to do.”
Geno scoffed and turned to face Kakashi directly. “He doesn't need to explain squat to you.”
“Excuse me?” Kakashi was shocked.
“You heard me. Naruto doesn't have to explain anything.”
“I think he--”
His words choked in his mouth when the giant fox skull re-appeared behind Geno. It's maw was already open and a beam of energy is inside and ready to fire.
“Do you want to have the same treatment as those bandits?” A wide eyed Kakashi quickly shook his head. “Then. Please. Kindly drop the subject.”
“Okay!”
Nodding with satisfaction Geno snapped his fingers and the giant skull disappeared. Turning his attention back to Naruto, Geno patted the boy on the shoulder.
“C'mon. Let's head to Tazuna's place.”
Blinking in confusion Naruto looked up at his undead counterpart with a confounded expression. “How'd you know the drunks name?” He questioned, but nevertheless lead Geno to said drunks house.
“Oh. You know.” The skeleton said mysteriously.
“No, I don't.”
“If you don't know, then, why don't you know, what I know that you know, what I can do?”
As he led Geno off of the bridge a dumbfounded Naruto tried to comprehend what the hell Geno said.
“...What?”
“Exactly!”
“Geno, what the hell...! You're not making--”
“I know.”
“Let me finish!!”
“Finish what?” From the jumping of his shoulders Geno is clearly finding this amusing.
“AGH!” Naruto threw up his arms in exasperation. “Forget it!”
X.X.X.X
