Surprisingly, it wasn't Kaylee's alarm clock that woke her. It was the sun that woke her.
Kaylee tried to open her eyes, but once she got them half way, they were forced shut, due to the bright light shining through her window.
"It's too early to get up," she whispered.
Kaylee's eyes snapped open with a sudden realization.
Her voice…that wasn't her voice, but she knew that she said it.
Kaylee's eyes wondered around the bedroom she was in, her eyebrows knitting together in confusion.
This bedroom…this wasn't hers either.
Getting up, Kaylee ran into the bathroom.
This wasn't her bathroom.
Her head snapped into the direction of the nearby mirror, a look of horror appearing on her face.
This…this body wasn't hers!
Petite build, big brown eyes fringed with red, shoulder length chestnut brown hair with red and/or dark brown hues- she had a couple ideas who she was.
However, the uniform that she wore narrowed her theories down to one: a black uniform with a white armband carrying the mark of a red rose, attached to her left thigh the "Artemis Rod", and brown ankle boots.
Kaylee was somehow in Yuki Cross's body, from the anime series Vampire Knight.
"I'm dreaming," she said out loud, "There's no other explanation. I have to be dreaming…"
But what if she wasn't dreaming? What if this was real?
Kaylee's eyes drifted to a familiar piece of jewelry hanging around her neck: her crystal necklace.
"No," she quietly panicked in her new squeaky voice, "T-this is real! So why am I here, why am I…'Yuki'? I can't be Yuki, I'm nothing like her. Kaname and Zero will suspe-…"
Kaname Kuran and Zero Kagyu! If they find out- ugh, she doesn't even want to think what will happen if they find out.
"Breathe, 'Yuki'," Kaylee chirped, taking a seat on 'her' bed.
"How many times have you seen this before? Being Yuki is a piece of cake! All I have to do is remember some- if not, most- of her lines and actions, and it will all be over with. Right...? Yeah, this whole 'being Yuki' thing will end soon enough! All I have to do is wait it out." Feeling confident, Kaylee smiled widely.
"I will dominate this, if it is the last thing I'll do! Now, what does a 'Yuki' do at 6:30 in the morning?"
…
"Right, she's on the Disciplinary Committee!"
Quickly smoothing down her hair, Kaylee ran out of Yuki's bedroom.
Half way down the hall, she stopped dead in her tracts.
Where are the Moon Dorms even located?
"KANAME!!"
"IDOL!!"
Kaylee's head turned to the direction of the screaming, and saw a large group of fan-girls making their way outside.
She can just follow them; genius!
~
By the time Kaylee made it outside, her legs were slightly sore from all that running.
Motivated fan-girls were, apparently, extremely hard to keep up with.
Glancing around the closed Moon Dorms, Kaylee's eyes landed on Zero, who lounged under a shady tree.
His eyes met hers, his usual pokerface in progress.
"You are, for the first time I've been here, late," he said monotonously, "What kept you? You're usually the first one out here."
"Oh, uh, I accidently slept in, he-he!"
Before Zero could even speak again, Kaylee saw a pair of girls trying to climb the Moon Dorm wall. She instantly took her whistle in hand, and blew it as hard as she could.
"You girls, get down from there!"
Zero seemed to give a faint smile- which was unusual for Kaylee to see. She can honestly count on one hand how many times Zero smiles in the entire first series.
~
After almost a half hour of wrestling with overly-hormonal boys and girls, Kaylee managed to get everyone in two straight lines.
"Go on, she's not as scary as-."
"Move and I'll break your legs," Kaylee threatened, not even facing the courageous girls behind her.
"Gasp What's with her?"
"I don't know, but she scares me more than Zero!"
Kaylee's forehead became damp with sweat.
Kaylee was overdoing it. She has to pull herself together. If she did something like that in front of Zero, or (God forbid) Kaname, she would have been discovered quicker than a New York second!
"I meant it in a completely non-literal way!" She said this with a nervous giggle for more emphasis.
Everyone seemed to buy it- this time.
