No one on the island knew how special the three of them were, what they went through and possibly what they would go through in the future. Kairi, Sora and Riku held an unmistakable bond together.
Kairi knew that she couldn't break the bond between Riku and Sora (not that she wanted to, no matter what others said about her) and Riku couldn't snap the connection of Sora and Kairi's hearts. All of them were connected in a way that was unexplainable to those that didn't know them.
Rainbows used to be something they glanced at--rain and sun were normal to the Destiny Islands and so rainbows were a usual occurence. But as Kairi and Sora sat next to each other on the pier, staring at the shimmering colors of the rainbow, it seemed like a sign of hope and promise for the future.
No matter what their roles would be.
