Finally! The weekend! It's hard to believe I've only been back at school for a week. A WEEK. Feels like so much longer. Anywho, here's the final chapter.

As soon as the pistol hit the crystal floor, Ice made her move. She dropped to the floor and rolled quickly past Delilah and Julius, grabbing the gun as she went. Wasting no time, Ice stood up and aimed the gun in-between Delilah's eyes.
"You may be righteous and perfect," Ice sneered, "but I, however, am not. Goodbye, Delilah."
Nanoseconds before Ice pulled the trigger, Julius crashed into her, screwing up her aim. The bullet whizzed out of the gun, burying itself in Delilah's rips. She let out a cry of pain and fell to the floor, curling up in a ball and clutching her chest.
Forgetting Ice, Julius ran to his fallen partner's side. Ice's cackles echoed around the room, the only thing left of her. Delilah blinked rapidly and her breathing came in short, pained gasps. Her eyes were threatening to roll back.
"Oh God!" Julius cried, dropping to his knees beside her. "Oh God, what have I done?"
Delilah tried to grin. "You ... you did no ... nothing. Me ... I let ... her get to m ... me. I ... dropped the ... the ... whatever. It wasn't ... your fault, Jules."
Julius cradled her in his arms. He took off his coat and pressed it to the wound on her ribs, trying to stem the blood flow. "But I let my feelings get the better of me. I was completely blind."
Delilah let out a laugh that was more of a gasp. "Me too. I was ... jealous. I should ... should have know it was ... Ice. No worries. I ... I ... need to tell you something ... I ..."
The words faded on her lips as she went limp in Julius' arms.

The doctors had assured Al, Scarlett and Julius that Delilah would be fine, but Julius wondered if he ever would be. The last two days had been a living nightmare. He had been tricked into believing an enemy was a friend, betrayed his partner, let her down ... It was his fault she was hurt. If he hadn't have let his feelings cloud his judgement, none of this would have happened.
Worst of all, the doctors had told him that Delilah would be confined to a wheelchair for at least a month while her abdomen healed. She would have no use of her legs while her body rejuvenated. That meant no missions for a long, long time. Julius had no idea what would happen. Would Al team him up with Nosey while Delilah sat around and did nothing? If Al mentioned that, Julius would refuse. He'd stay by his partner's side until she was fit and able.
There was a faint groan beside him. It snapped him back to reality. Julius heaved a sigh of relief. Delilah was waking up. Her eyelids flickered and her mouth began forming unheard words. Finally, she opened her eyes.
"Hey," she said in a strained, raspy voice. "What happened?"
"You got ..." Julius paused, trying hard not to let his eyes water. "... hurt. Because of me."
Delilah sat up slowly. "Right ... Now I remember. How long was I out?"
Julius glanced at the clock in the room. "Thirteen hours."
"You counted?" Delilah teased.
"Every minute felt like a day, watching you." he said quietly. "By the way, what did you want to tell me?"
The question caught Delilah off-guard. "Huh? What? Oh!" Julius couldn't help but notice she blushed slightly. "Uh ... I don't remember."
In truth, Delilah did remember what she had been meaning to tell Julius, but she wasn't about to let him know. Further conversation was cut short as Al entered the room.
"Ah, great, man, you're awake." He turned around and beckoned someone in the door. It was a girl a few years younger than Delilah, very timid-looking. And pretty. "This is Cassy Hale, guys. Since Delilah's gonna be, like, outta commission for a while, I thought you and Julius could, like, show Cassy the ropes. Train her, I guess. And don't worry, this one's not a villain in disguise."
Cassy looked confused. Julius smiled. "It's a long story."
Delilah jabbed him lightly in the side. He turned to look at her. "Yes?"
Her eyes twinkled mischievously. "Don't get any ideas."
Julius smiled down smugly at her. "That's not going to happen again. I've already got my sights set on someone."
