"Hi, I'm Yuki and this is Zero." The school guardian said, brightly.
"I'm... Jess." the new girl didn't seem to understand how anyone could be this cheerful to greet someone.
"Great! Where were you originally from?"
"Uh, North America. I lived in the Upper Peninsula."
"Oh, neat!"
"I guess it could be."
"No, really! I love Lake Superior! It's gorgeous!"
"Yeah it is."
"Anyway, Zero and I will show you around and then you can see a popular event of the day!"
"Great."
"Do you always wear a crucifix?" Zero asked.
"Yes." Jess answered. She looked at him curiously. "Got a problem with that?"
"No." Zero did.
They walked around with the girls and boys looking at Jess with odd expressions. "Is she in Day Class?" A boy asked.
"Yes."
"She looks pretty enough to be in night class."
"Jess is in Day Class."
"Hi." Jess said, nervously.
"Oh, hi." the boy said, grinning.
"Anyway, let's continue." Yuki said.
"So, what is Night Class?"
"Um, the class that has school at night."
"Like vampires?"
Zero and Yuki looked at each other. "No! Of course not! Why would you think that? You're crazy!"
"I was joking." Jess said.
