Two wizards, striding brooms, were tearing through the darkness. Enemies not so long ago, now, allays and only hope for girl's freedom.

Harry has never seen Malfoy like this. Always haughty along with fellows, coward in reality, now was menacing. It took Harry a huge deal of pleading for them to make quick stops to eat or for Draco to drink some water. They flew, and he thought that probably, for the first time in Draco's life, he had found something, which was worth more than his own life. Amazed by Malfoy's transformation, he followed him till only on the sixth day, they reached a dark castle in the middle of the ocean.

"Malfoy, stop!"

"What?!"

"Dementors!"

"So? What is Patronus for?"

"There are thousands of them!" Sure enough, inside the transparent globe, herds of hooded figures were darkening the sky. "They are trapped, and I'm pretty sure starving, not for the first day.

"Potter! Release Patronus!"

"Open your eyes! We'll be as good as dead! Patronus keeps you safe as long as you are concentrated! One Patronus will be useless. We'll release it in front of us; they will suck our soul from behind!"

"I don't give a FUCK!"

"She would not need you dead! Move your brains!"

"So, what's your advice? To go back? To wait for a backup?"

"Try to call for your own Patronus!"

"I can't! What do you think you're here for?!"

"You have no choice! When hundreds of Dementors attacked me, I believed I could. And I did manage. So, search your brain for the happiest memory AND RELEASE YOUR DAMN PATRONUS!"

Draco closed his eyes. Grabbed tightly, a dragon pendant and voice sounded clear in his head, "I love you, Draco Malfoy."

He did not even need to open his eyes to see a huge glowing dragon expanding its wings, blazing a trail in Dementors' thick fog. Not suppressing his exciting battle cry, Harry released his own Patronus and hurried behind Malfoy.

Demian approached a window and huffed in a smile:

"Swift brat. Rise, my love, look, your Romeo is splitting through the fog."

With the remains of her fragile strength, Elvein stood up, not daring to approach the window.

"You know what? I'll even help him a little." In his words, stone gargoyles stepped back into the darkness and the maze walls gave a narrow path to newcomers. "Or else, he will forever roam through the labyrinth, would not be able to find his way out. Death from starvation is not something suitable for him".

At first, Draco did not understand why walls gave him a path, but then, he saw Demian's sarcastic expression and got into a rage. "This bastard is even mocking me!" He thought, pointed his want to the window, and called out "Bombarda." Wall exploded, letting him and Harry fly through ruins.

"Get away from the girl, you coward! Stop hiding behind her back." Yelled Draco, seeing Ekrizdis lying over Elvein's unconscious body.

"With everything else, it turns out you are an idiot as well." Answered Demian standing up. "I am not hiding behind anyone. I saved her from you! You fool! With your idiotic decision, you've almost killed her!"

The realization made his legs weak, but Draco still firmed himself.

With the simple movement of Demian's left hand, Harry was plastered on the wall, unable to move.

"This is not your war, Potter, though I respected your bravery."

He turned his attention to Draco:

"So, you're here. Now what?"

Draco attacked him, throwing curse after curse. Harry looked at them, only now realizing how naive their plan was. Ekrizdis was clearly having fun, easily avoiding every attack, while Draco was fighting with all he got.

"What were you hoping for, sucker? That you'll come here, I'll feel sorry for you and give you Elvein, who you almost killed just two minutes ago?! Have you asked yourself if you deserve her or not? You could not protect her. You are not strong enough. You are not smart enough. Although I'm not suffering from Narcissism, let's face it, I am even more good-looking than you."

"She loves me! And I will die for her!"

"Chivalric, but, in this case, pointless. Plus, do you really believe you are the only one like this? The only one who loves her? The only one ready to give up life for her?" Demian smiled at him as if Malfoy was some small, silly child.

"You are a sick egoistic bastard! I will never force her!"

"Think again sucked. Are you sure you're not looking at your own future?"

Draco saw how thin blood was guttering Elvein's bare-bones face. It gave him the strength to attack with the new wind. This time, the curse hit Demian, but it only irritated him.

"Boy! If your naivety is laughable, idiotism is unnerving! You still do believe in being capable of killing me, don't you? Have you forgotten what I told you on the train? Now, right now, it will be decided who will be left standing between the two of us. And there is a single person in this whole wide world who will decide who survives."

With Demian's fingers, Draco's throat contrasted, making him wheeze.

"No!"

Harry only now noticed that Elvein was standing. Shred of the mirror shone in her hand, which already protruded from Ekrizdis' chest. Demian staggered and fell. Cough covered his lips with crimson. He looked at Elvein and ... smiled.

"So, it's him" More bloody cough "-took so much effort from you…." - He took her fingers, which still held shred in his chest, kissed them, and continued with a huge struggle. "Don't cry. I have been dead since that night in Hogsmeade."

Smiling at her, he looked into her eyes one last time. Blood oozed from the wound in a slow pulse rhythm, then stopped.

Elvein's inhuman cry shuttered both Draco and Harry. She lay on Demian's chest, clutching his dead body with all her strength. Malfoy ran to her, trying to calm her down, to peel her from the dead body. It was no use. Elvein was deranged.

In his short life, Harry has seen many heartbreaking things. In front of his eyes died Sirius, Fred, Tonx, Lupin, and so many more. But never in his existence has he seen something as soul-shattering as this. The murderer was mourning murdered one and had no residue of humanity left.

He did not remember how they managed to peel Elvein from Demian, nor how they managed to leave the castle. The only thing he could recall was Draco, carrying the girl's unconscious body.
