Chapter 57: A new President, a new Captain, a new lover
Fleet Admiral’s log Stardate 57808.8 - In the aftermath of the battle against the Skrrr, Commodore Sart was promoted to Admiral. His fleet will be the ships stationed at Talos IV, Visalayan, Tarquinus, Mars and Vulcan. The Human ships, both Cylon and Kobolian had to return to Mars for repairs and to replace all those photon torpedoes they used up. Once that is done, they’ll be returning to Kobol for some R&R.
News of the Battle has made the Federation very popular here on Kobol, both in Athens and Sparta. President Roslin and I have been giving a series of briefings to President-Elect Zarek explaining all the things that are not known to the general public or even the mayor of Sparta. He seems attentive in our meetings. I can only hope that we’re getting through to him and have persuaded him not to go through with his promise to pull Kobol out of the Federation.
We have unloaded all the civilian ships that the Atlantis brought, and 1/3 of the husband-seeking Cylons that came on the base ships. The dating scene in Athens has become a feeding frenzy. There a frequent fist fights between Cylon women of the same model who are fighting over the same man.
Kobol - Athens - Steps of the Kobolian Government Hall
Tom Zarek had just been sworn in as the President of Kobol and now stepped up to the microphone to make his inauguration speech.
“My fellow Humans, It is a great honor to stand here as the first President of our people to be elected on Kobol. My predecessor, President Roslin has served us well, both in fulfilling the rest of of President Adar’s term and in her own term as President. The Colonial Warriors like Adama and Cain, wanted to keep fighting the Cylons. It was President Roslin that persuaded them to protect the people she had gathered together. She shepherded us along as we ran from the Cylons and made the deal that resulted in the creation of the Federation, thus giving us a home world on Kobol. And now, we are at peace with the Cylons, members of the same Federation as them.
I know I promised that after I was elected I would withdraw Kobol from the Federation. But until you become president, you don’t have excess to all of the information. We need the Federation. Not just for the peace with the Cylons that it gives us. But also for the protection of our world. The recent war with the Skrrr showed us that the universe is not a safe place, that we need to be part of something bigger than ourselves in order to be safe. Also, we need the resources of more than one world. Kobol is a world rich in life. It is a good place for farming. And some of the other worlds of the Federation like Tarquinus, which we once called New Caprica, and Vulcan, need our agricultural exports to survive. And as our population grows and our farmers become more numerous, the food we grow will only be come MORE critical to them. They need us. And we need them. We are not the first people to live on Kobol. Our ancestors lived here. And when they did, the ancient Humans of Kobol mined all the easy to reach mineral resources on this planet. Our industry needs imported mineral resources to survive. If we quit the Federation, the ships bringing us minerals from worlds like Tarquinus and Talos IV would stop coming and we would descend into the stone age, not even the stone age, as all the good flint has long since been mined. And so, we are going to remain members of the Federation whose Capital we host.
As a candidate, I advocated the ejection of Cylons and aliens from our world. But when my campaign came to Athens, my eyes were opened. I promised that Sparta would only be a place for Humans from the 12 Colonies and I intend to keep that promise. As long as I am president, Sparta and the continent on which it is located will only be a refuge for people who are Humans purely descended from the 12 Colonies. Sparta will remain a wholesome and decent place where Colonial moral values are preserved.
But our people also need what Athens has to offer. We need the industry and research labs and colleges that Athens has. We need a place where we can meet with our brothers and sisters from the other worlds of the Federation. And we need a place that is for all Humans, not just Colonial Humans but Cylon Humans too. I’ve seen the way Cylons interact with Humans when we meet as equals. And I am convinced that the Cylons ARE just as Human as the Colonials of the 12 tribes. They are the 13th Tribe. They may be different. But they are just as Kobolian as the other 12 tribes. And there is a place for those of them who have decided to come back to Kobol, to marry and have children with our people. For them, Athens shall be their home.
But Athens and Sparta are not the end of our people. They are the beginning of our people. We have a whole world to repopulate and fill. And in time, new towns will be built on these two continents and the others.”
The new President’s speech continued for another deci-day. The only other surprise had been his appointment of Laura Roslin as his Secretary of Education.
To everyone’s surprise Zarek really did want what he thought was best for his people. He just had different ideas about what constituted ‘Best’ and ‘His people’.
Captain’s log: Stardate 57809.9 - We have arrived at Mars and repairs have begun of the damage recently sustained. The Proserpina, Khthonios, Atalanta and Odyssey are also here for the same reason. Members of their crews have been visiting our ship for both tours and for the use of our holodecks. Our repairs have delayed the construction of the Apollo, which is near completion. It will be the first Federation ship constructed since the creation of this universe’s Federation.
We have also received a summons to the planet Visalayan. No doubt our proximity makes them crave another encounter with our Ship’s Councilor, who is a religious figure for them.
Mars Orbit - Starship Argos - Captain’s Ready Room
Commander Worf entered to find Captain Data sitting at his desk.
“You asked for me, Captain?”
“Yes,” replied Data. “Please be seated. I have received a message from Fleet Admiral Adama. The Apollo will soon be completed. By the time our own repairs are finished and we have returned from Visalayan, construction on the ship should be complete. The Fleet Admiral is offering you the captaincy of the Apollo. . . . is there something the matter Commander?”
“No . . . No... no sir,” replied Worf. “It’s just . . . I’m now understanding why Riker was hesitant to give up being First officer to a great captain on a galaxy class ship when he was offered captaincy of a smaller ship.”
“Thank you for the complement, Commander,” said Data. “However, If I may point out, captaining a smaller ship can often be a step to a larger ship. There are plans to built Constitution class ships for exploration, after there are enough Apollo class ships to protect all the Federation worlds. This could be a step in that direction.”
“The Apollo is a bit old fashioned looking,” grumbled Worf.
“Although the exterior appearance and interior decor is reminiscent of 23 century designs from our home universe, most of the technology will be drawn from the Argos. It will be able to match our speed at Warp and it’s shields and phasers can match the Argos power levels. It will also have a phasing cloak and a small resurrection hub for your Cylon crew members. It’s transporters, however, will be derived from Medeusan designs and will be superior to those of the Argos.”
“Very well, I accept,” answered Worf.
“The Fleet Admiral will have to final decision about who the crew of the Apollo will be He has already requested that Lieutenant Thrace be the 1st Officer. And most your crew will be from all the worlds of the Federation. If we were in agreement with our recommendations he would me more inclined to follow our suggestions. So let us negotiate about who you would like to have from the Argos’ crew.”
Mars Orbit - Starship Argos - Councilor Medi’s office
Ensign Medi was currently giving care to Lieutenant Valerii Eight. In order help Eight relax and open up, Ensign Medi had allowed her to remove her uniform and to make her more comfortable, Ensign Medi had removed her own. Currently the two unclothed women were hugging as Medi tried to offer the crying Eight Comfort.
“I can’t help it! I love him so much!” cried Eight on the shoulder of her therapist. “He says I’m enough, but I KNOW he wants more Females! It’s part of Ferengi culture!”
“Has it occurred to you that he might be sincere in his denial of wanting more than one Female,” offered Medi as she continued to hug Eight. “He did after all, grow up amongst humans and Bajorans. Maybe having other Females, the Ferengi version of wife, is too big a step for him. Perhaps you might could fill that need with a more frivolous encounter. You could bring a close friend to share your bed with him and let him have you both at the same time.”
“Would YOU be willing to do that for me?” asked Eight.
“I can if you want,” replied Medi. “But if you have another friend that you are closer to, you might want to invite them.”
“All right,” said Eight, as she released Medi from the hug.
“Before our next session, I want you to think about whether or not you want to invite a friend and if you do, talk to at least one about the idea,” recommended Medi as they started to put their uniforms back on.
Once they were dressed, Eight gave her another quick hug and said: “Thank you, Councilor! You helped me a lot!”
After Eight left, Medi went to the door to let her next patient in. It was a Medeusan that she didn’t know.
“I don’t believe we’ve met before Ensign . . . ?” said Medi.
“Ensign Mažić, from the Odyssey,” introduced the Medeusan, with a bow.
“What would you like to talk about?” asked Medi.
“I heard a rumor that you can open your self fully,” replied Mažić, “that you can left your partners in you seven-fold. I would like to experience that.”
“I DO sometimes open myself to my patients when then is a therapeutic need for it,” explained Medi. “But I sense this in not the case for you. You are just someone who wants a new experience. I’m not going to give you that now, when there are other patients who need my help. But after I get off duty, I would be happy to dock with you.”
“Thank you Priest/ess. Thank you so much!” gushed Mažić, as he bowed and fled the office.
As soon as he was gone, Medi tapped her com-badge and called for: “Lieutenant Vačić”
“Medi?” answered a voice. “Is something wrong?”
“No. It’s just another Medeusan who has asked me to dock with him,” replied Medi. “I’ll be a little late after my shift ends. Can you tell the others.”
“I’ll do that,” replied her Spouse. “If you wish, you could spend the night with him.”
“I’d never do that!” protested Medi. “After docking strange Medeusans, I always want to open myself completely to my spice.”
“We’ll look forward to that,” replied Vačić. “Have fun!”
“I will,” replied Medi. “Love you!”
“And I you,” replied Vačić.
After she finished her last patient, Medi tapped her com-badge and called for: “Ensign Mažić, please meet me outside the door of my office.”
She waited in the corridor for a few minutes until he arrived.
“Thank you for agreeing to do this!” gushed the Medeusan.
“Oh, it’s my pleasure,” replied Medi, as she offered both her hands to him.
She, by now, could understand enough of the Medeusan language to recognize gleeful colours when she saw them.
“Do you have a room for us to use?” asked Medi, as she rubbed her palms against hers and felt one of them opening up.
“No,” replied Mažič.
“Don’t worry, I know a place we can have some privacy,” replied Medi.
“You don’t have a room of your own?” asked Mažić.
“I do,” confirmed Medi. “But just because I’m willing to dock you, does not mean I’m willing to share you with my spice.”
Medi took him into a jefferies tube and to a place in the ducts where it was horizontal and widened enough that they had enough room, then she turned and grabbed two of his hands in a passionate hand hold.
“Help me out of this dress,” panted Medi as she continued to rub her palms against hers and her fingers against his. Once she was undressed, he began entering her. She knew he could read her mind and knew she only wanted to have a quick encounter with him. But he could also feel the love she had for him. It only seemed like level two or three love, but she kept offering her holes for him to fill. Soon he was thrusting with all seven hands to her and he could feel her arousal building as he thrust into her seven-fold. When he telepathically felt her climax, it set off his own an he filled her with his fluids.
(That was . . . That was . . . Thank you for Priest/ess for honoring me so! I never expected to experience that in my lifetime!) telepathically sent Mažić
(Can you take your finger out of my mouth so I can talk?) asked Medi. “That’s better! It was my honor to open myself fully to you! Oh, and I’m not a Priest/ess, just someone who likes to make others feel good. Now, that we’ve already docked, can you take the other six out of me. I want to go home and do this again with my spice.”
After she had put her uniform back on and led him back out to the corridor, turned to him and pressed a palm to his.
“Thanks for docking me,” said Medi. “It felt really good to open myself to you. Bye.”
When she walked into their quarters, all three of her spice were waiting for her in bed.
“How was it?” asked Vačić.
“It was good,” replied Medi. “He docked me completely. But it left me wanting more. Dock me Vačić! Dock me now!”
She grabbed two of Vačič’s hands and rubbed them passionately while the other two helped her undress.
