Hitch and his friends were at the police station with Sprout and Philis. Hitch had managed to calm the townfolk down and was now talking about Wolfsbane Seed.
"What proof do you have that Wolfsbane Seed had anything to do with the creature?" Asked Hitch.
"Sheriff, don't you think it's a little suspicious that not long after he showed up, the creature shows up too," Philis replied
"That creature was already here before Wolfsbane got here, Philis."
"Not in Maretime Bay, that thing didn't come here until he arrived."
"In other words, you don't have proof that Wolfsbane is the creature," said Hitch
"Hitch, I just said."
"That isn't proof
Philis sighed, "Well, Sheriff, mark my words if I'm right, then you're going to be sorry, and ponies are going to be mad."
"If you have nothing else to say, Philis, you can leave."
"Fine, Sheriff, but you heard me," she said with a huff as she slammed the door.
Hitch shook his head. "That mare makes it so hard sometimes."
"I'm going to go see Sprout, maybe he can talk to his mom and get her to change her mind about wolfsbane Seed," Misty said
"I can give her a pedicure," said Pipp
"Comic and I are going to see how Wolfsbane seed is," said Izzy
"I need to get back to my smoothie shop, then check out the book I found," said Sunny
After the others left, Hitch looked at Zipp
"Looks like it's just the two of us, since Sparky is napping."
"Want to watch that new horror film?"
"Sure, just make sure it isn't too loud since Sparky is sleeping."
"Okay, sounds good."
"I can make some popcorn for both of us, Zipp?"
"I would love that."
Hitch nodded and walked off to make the popcorn.
Zipp grabbed the TV switcher and turned it on, brought up the app the movie was on, found the movie, and waited for Hitch to return.
Not long after, Hitch returned with popcorn and drinks for him and Zipp. Zipp started the movie, and not long after, Hitch wrapped a hoof around Zipp, enjoying the movie together.
That evening, Sunny lay in bed looking through the book that Tumble had found, which was full of creatures she had never heard of. BugBears, Serpent-like creatures, Apes, Ape-like creatures. Humans and many others. When she got to the werecreatures, she noticed none of the pages were there, they seemed to be missing. It looked like it had been turned out.
"That's strange, I don't think I remember that when I first glanced through it, but maybe I was wrong."
Wolfsbane Seed stirred his cup of tea while Hitch had gotten the townfolk to calm down. A few of them still gave him looks, and a few others turned away or started talking about him. He looked at the werewolf page that he had ripped out when Sunny wasn't looking. Yes, he knew it was wrong to do that, just like it wasn't right the way he had treated Izzy the way they had first met, but he didn't want anyone else to get hurt from the werewolf. He placed the page down, finished his tea, and went to bed.
Philis sat on her bed watching TV, admiring her new hairdo. That pony had done an amazing job, and she loved it. When Sprout had gone to bed, saying he wasn't feeling well, she had asked if he wanted anything, but he had said no. Philis looked at him but thought maybe he was just tired and let him sleep. Philis turned back to the TV.
"Tonight, there is going to be a big, beautiful moon. All you nighttime/moon lovers, make sure you don't miss it."
After a bit, Philis turned the TV off and lay down.
Philis had been woken up; she groaned, trying to get back to sleep. When she heard another noise, she sat up in bed and looked at the clock.
"What is going on?"
She got up after hearing another noise. She walked down to Sprout's bedroom and knocked. When he didn't answer, she knocked again. After the third time, she reached for the door to open it.
"Sprout, honey, I'm coming in, it's 3 in the morning, go back to bed. What are you...?"
Before she could finish, she screamed. Sprout's room was a mess, stuff was all over the place, claw marks and teeth marks were everywhere. On the bed was the creature. She screamed again, getting the creature's attention. It leaped towards her and slammed into the door that Philis had just closed. She locked it and blocked off the door while panting. After not being able to get through, the creature gave up and ran through the window, sending glass everywhere. Philis opened the door and stood there dumbstruck, looking at the window.
"My window, oh, Sheriff Hitch is going to pay for that. I'm going to make sure that stranger will rot in jail for this."
The moon was full and bright, lighting up Maretime Bay with an eerie glow. Not long after, the creature moved towards Maretime Bay and sniffed, looked back at Wolfsbane Seed's caravan, and continued towards Maretime Bay.
"Sheriff, Sheriff!" Philis banged on his door. A bit later, Hitch opened the door.
"Philis, do you know what time it is? I have a son whom I'm trying to keep asleep. Love the little guy, but he can be a handful sometimes."
"You need to come with me right away."
Before Hitch could say anything, Philis grabbed him and dragged him towards her house, and straight to Sprout's bedroom.
"You brought me over here to show me a messy room?"
"No, this Sprout's bedroom, I woke up to a noise, and checked up on him and found his room this way. Sprout wasn't in his room, and that creature was on his bed. Wolfsbane Seed either kidnapped my baby or ate him."
Hitch placed a hoof on his face and sighed.
"So let me get this straight: you heard Sprout trashing his room, you got upset with him, and he ran away?"
"SHERIFF!" Philis huffed while stomping her hooves. " Can you not see the claw and teeth marks all over the place. Look here, there is fur on his bed, and take a look at the window, that is the shape of that creature."
Hitch looked at the fur and markings. "This doesn't mean Wolfsbane was the creature."
Philis snorted. "Well, why don't we see Wolfsbane Seed and see if he is the creature?"
Hitch sighed again. "Fine, but when you are wrong, I want you to apologize to him and drop everything."
"Deal, after you, sheriff."
On the way to Wolfsbane Seed's caravan, Hitch noticed Philis had pep in her steps. Did she think that she was going to be right? Boy, was she in for a big surprise.
When Hitch saw Wolfsbane's caravan, he smiled, while he hated to wake up Wolfsbane Seed. Once Philis talked to him, she would drop all the charges, he was about to say something when he stopped. Philis bumped into him.
"Sheriff, you could warn a pony before stopping so suddenly."
"Be quiet!"
"Sheriff?" But before she could continue, her muzzle dropped open. The door of Wolfsbane's caravan was open and hanging from its hinges. Inside was a mess: books, paper, and a few other things lay scattered on the floor. The table and a few appliances were knocked over. A flashlight flickered.
"That's how Sprout's room looked, this proves he is the creature."
Hitch pondered for a bit, not long after he heard a groan. Hitch rushed over to where he heard the groan.
Wolfsbane Seed lay on the floor under a bookshelf. One of the shelves had come loose and had stopped the bookshelf from crushing him, but it wasn't going to hold much longer.
Hitch turned towards Philis. "Help me lift him out from beneath the bookshelf."
"But!"
"Now, before it crushes him."
"Fine!"
They had just gotten Wolfsbane out from beneath the bookshelf just as it crashed to the floor. They laid him on the caravan couch.
"What happened? Why is your caravan a mess?"
"Well, been stressed out about a lot, and having most of the town folk not seeming to trust me, every time I go into town, they look at me like I'm some kind of freak, doesn't help. So I forgot there was going to be a full moon tonight. I didn't get the chance to warn folk."
"You hear that, Hitch? he just said he was the creature."
"LOOK, LADY, IF I WERE THIS CREATURE, I WOULDN'T BE HERE RIGHT NOW. HAVE YOU NOT SEEN THE FULL MOON? THIS CREATURE ONLY COMES OUT DURING THE FULL MOON."
"You hear this, sheriff, you're just going to sit there and let him yell at me?"
"Woah, everypony...um..every???. Let's all calm down. Look, yelling isn't going to help anything, but you're not helping by playing the blame game."
"So you're taking his side?"
"I'm not taking sides, I'm trying to do my job and keep peace in the valley. Now, as I was saying, why is your caravan a mess?"
"Well, I had gotten up to use the toilet, and when I finished, I kept on hearing this weird noise. I looked out the window but couldn't see anything, so I opened my door, and that's when I saw the creature. I guess the creature heard me open the door, so it came at me and rammed the caravan, ended up trapped, and not long after, you guys found me."
"You okay?"
"Yes..um..?
"Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer, but you can call me Sheriff Hitch, or just Hitch."
"I will, Hitch, thanks."
"Just doing my job."
"Sheriff, what about my boy?"
"Oh shoot, Sprout, that's why we came over here. Wolfsbane, you don't happen to know where this creature could be?"
"Not really, why?"
"Philis's son is missing, his room looks like your caravan, and Philis said she saw the creature on his bed before it jumped through the window."
"Okay, while I don't know where it goes in the morning, I have been tracking it. And I will help you find this boy of hers."
"You didn't by chance see where the creature went, did you?"
"No, but we can lure it out with meat."
"Sounds like a plan."
"Yes, but I want you to do everything I tell you, okay?"
"Okay, will do."
"But Sheriff"
"Philis, please, let's just listen to him for once, okay?"
"Fine!"
Wolfsbane Seed got up and exited the caravan.
"Come on, follow me."
Hitch and Philis followed Wolfsbane outside and watched him press a button, not long after a platform came out from under the caravan and popped up, revealing a cage.
"What is this?"
"This is my werewolf/werecreature cage, I had it built so they couldn't get out."
"That is impressive."
"Yeah, it is, but we have to catch the werewolf first. That's where this comes in."
Just then, they heard a scream.
"That sounded like Misty and the others."
Hitch galloped off towards the lighthouse, and Philis followed behind.
"Wait, Hitch." Wolfsbane had started to say, but he was about halfway already. Wolfsbane ran into his caravan and grabbed a chain, and started up his caravan heading to the lighthouse. When he finally caught up with Hitch, he rolled down his window.
"Hey Hitch catch," Wolfsbane Seed had said as he threw Hitch the chain. "If that werewolf is in there, throw it on its neck."
Hitch nodded.
Wolfsbane parked his caravan and grabbed another chain. It sounded like they had just gotten there in time, for there was quite the commotion.
"Get away from my stuff, you overgrown furball." Said Pipp as she threw different items at the creature.
"Not Helping Pipp, you're just making it madder," Zipp said as she flew out of the creature's way.
"There is no way, I'm letting that thing eat my stuff. Do you know how much this stuff costs?"
"Um, Ladies, don't mean to interrupt, but we could use some help here," Comit said while pointing a hoof towards the others.
Izzy was leaping around, Sunny was looking through the book with a worried look on her face. While Misty huddled near the couch
The werewolf stopped and sniffed. When it spotted Misty, it lunged towards her.
Misty yelped and froze, not sure what to do, then she took off galloping, colliding with Izzy, the two unicorn mares wobbled before falling to the floor.
"Misty!"
She heard her name called and thought this was the end. She cowered, trying to make herself smaller, and whimpered. She waited for the creature to sink its teeth into her. When it didn't happen, she opened her eyes and noticed the beast had a chain around its neck held by that stranger, who had come to town not that long ago. Misy was about to sigh with relief when the creature tried lunging towards her again.
"Hitch, the other chain now." Wolfsbane Seed said while doing his best to keep the creature away from Misty.
"Coming!"
Hitch threw the other chain around the creature. While still struggling, Wolfsbane turned towards the others.
"There is a small red box in my caravan, marked Wolfsbane. Inside is a sleeping potion with a needle and syringe. Will someone go and get it, please?"
"I'll go get it!" Izzy said as she rushed off, not after she came back with the box.
"Okay, listen very carefully to me, we need to get the sleeping potion into its system, stick the needle into the creature where it says on the paper."
Izzy Nodded
"Be careful!"
"I will."
Izzy looked at the paper again and levitated it towards the creature and sank the needle into the creature's flesh. It let out a howl of pain before slumping over, sleeping like a baby.
"Okay, we need to get this thing into the cage before it wakes up."
"Allow me."
Izzy used her magic to lift the werewolf into the cage. After she did, Wolfsbane locked the cage door.
While the others cheered, Wolfsbane couldn't help but get a worried look on his face. He could have sworn the werewolf he had been after was bigger and had a different fur color. Maybe he was wrong.
Hitched noticed Wolfsbane Seed
"Is everything okay?"
Before Wolfsbane could reply, they heard another howl. When they all turned towards the sound, they saw another werewolf, bigger and with different fur colors than the one in the cage.
"Oh no, that's what I was afraid of. The werewolf in the cage isn't the werewolf that I had been keeping track of."
"If that's the werewolf you have been tracking, then who is in the cage?"
"I don't know, it must have picked up a friend along the way."
"What do we do?"
"Let me think."
But before Wolfsbane could say anything, the bigger werewolf leaped towards the cage, smacking into the cage, sending everyone scattering.
"Hitch, we have to get both of the werewolves into cages. Do you know of anyplace like that around here?"
"Would a prison cell work?"
"Sounds like a great idea. Help me catch the other werewolf."
When they finally caught the bigger werewolf and successfully put him in the cage with the smaller werewolf, they drove to the police station and placed both of the werewolves in their cells.
"Now we just wait until the sun comes up."
"I'm going to get myself a cup of coffee after checking up on Sparky. Does anypony else want some?"
"Yes"
"Okay, I'll go make a pot of coffee or two."
Philis sighed. Hitch was right about Wolfsbane Seed. If only she hadn't treated him that way, maybe Sprout would be with her and not missing. Tears started falling from her eyes. Hitch trotted over towards her and handed her a coffee.
"Thank you, Sheriff, I'm never going to see him again, am I?"
"I do what I can to bring him back home, no matter what."
"I'm sorry!"
"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to. Wolfsbane is."
"I will!"
"Thank you, Philis!"
Philis nodded and was about to say something when Izzy barged in.
"It's happening, they're turning back to normal."
The three rushed to the prison cells where the others were waiting.
They were huddled around the smaller werewolf's cell and watched as the werewolf turned back into a pony and gasped. The smaller werewolf was Sprout.
"Sprout, my baby, get him out of there."
"That's not a good idea, miss. He has to stay in there."
"But But."
"No buts about it."
"Wolfsbane, can't you just allow us to visit with him this one time?"
"Alright, just when there's going to be a full moon, make sure he goes back into the cell."
"Thank you, Wolfsbane, you don't know how much this means to us."
"It's nothing, now to see who the other werewolf is."
Wolfsbane Seed walked over to the other cell and noticed another earth pony. He walked over towards the stallion, took one look at him, and a look of horror came to his face as he started walking backward.
"Dad... no, wait, that can't be you. I mean him. Who are you, and why do you look like my dead father?"
"Son...I..Know this is a lot to take in, but let me explain."
"Explain.. you..you left us. We thought you were dead....you killed mom and then ate her."
"I made a big mistake, I"
"Don't touch me."
"Wolfsbane son I'm sorry.."
"Don't call me son, you're not my father anymore, you lost that right."
"Wolfsbane let's talk about this."
Wolfsbane looked at his father with hatred. "There's nothing to talk about."
Wolfsbane took off running, not knowing where to go. Just as long as he was out of view.
"Wolfsbane Seed, come back here, I'm your father."
When Wolfsbane didn't return, Blue Swirl sat down and placed his hooves on his face.
Hitch and the others stood around, not quite sure what to do.
Wolfsbane sat on the roof of his caravan, a picture of him and his mom lay at his paws. It was the last picture of them before she died.
"Mom, I miss you so much, I don't know what to do, I wish you were here."
Hitch used his earth pony magic, bringing up a large vine that took him to the roof of Wolfsbane's caravan. He placed a basket next to Wolfsbane and sat down next to him.
"I wish you would talk to your father. I know you're pretty upset, and I don't blame you, but I know he loves you. He left and let everyone think he died so her wouldn't hurt you or your mother. But the werewolf inside him had other ideas. Which you know. And anyway, a father loves his children no matter what, and while my son is just a baby, it would break my heart if we could never be together again. Just like it would break his heart as well. Your father is still alive and cares so much for you, don't let it be too late."
Wolfsbane sighed, " Fine, I will."
"I'm proud of you, Wolfsbane. Don't forget we are here for you, too.
"Thanks"
"You're welcome!"
Wolfsbane handed his father and Sprout a potion and told them to drink all of it. When they finished it, he led them both outside. The full moon shone brightly down on them, bathing them in moonlight.
"Now this potion is tempery, but it will do until I can get the items I need for a permanent cure."
"Where did you learn this?"
"From this book, by a Zebra mare named Zecora."
"Can I see that?"
"Sure, Sunny," Wolfsbane said as he handed the book to Sunny.
A few months went by, minding the broken bond between Wolfsbane and his dad. Though it had been slow, Blue Swirl didn't mind; he was glad to have his son back in his life.

"Sure, just make sure it isn't too loud since Sparky is sleeping."

"I would love that."
Hitch nodded and walked off to make the popcorn.

Not long after, Hitch returned with popcorn and drinks for him and Zipp. Zipp started the movie, and not long after, Hitch wrapped a hoof around Zipp, enjoying the movie together.
