Sonic and Manic sat down across from Tails.
Sonic explained what was going on with Manic as best as he could since Manic still didn't feel like talking and had to go to Tails' bathroom to throw up during the middle of the discussion.
"Maybe he just overdid it." Tails said, rubbing his chin. "It could be a side effect, something along the lines of jet lag. Anyway, just make sure he gets some rest. If it happens again, bring him right back, Sonic."
"Thanks, Tails." Sonic replied.
Manic finally shuffled out of the bathroom.
"It could be something like jet lag, Manic." Tails said. "Just get some rest. I'll call Sonic when the part comes in."
"Fine with me." Manic replied.
"Do you feel like heading out now?" Sonic asked.
"I'm as ready as I'll ever be." Manic replied.
**
Manic sat down on the couch with his arms folded. "This is bogus."
"Honestly, this is what you get for nodding along to whatever Tails says to you without listening." Sonic said, sitting down next to Manic.
Manic huffed. "I don't need an I told you so right now."
"I'm sorry." Sonic replied. "I'm frustrated with the situation too. Sonia snores"
Manic got up and quickly walked away.
"Are you sick again?" Sonic asked.
"I swear Tails' stupid machine did more than body swap us." Manic said. He shut the door of the bathroom behind him.
Sonic raced to his bedroom to avoid hearing Manic puke again.
Sonia was laying on the bed, reading a book. She sighed and shoved Manic's spines back. "How can he see with these stupid spines?"
Sonic sat down at Sonia's feet. "Any word from Tails?"
"Nope." Sonia replied. "Can you hand me my scrunchie?"
Sonic picked up the dark red scrunchie that was on the nightstand and handed it to her.
"Thanks." Sonia said, pulling the mess of spines into a ponytail on top of her head.
"It looks odd, but you have to do something other than cut his spines." Sonic said.
"Where's Manic?" Sonia asked.
"Bathroom again." Sonic replied. "I noticed you're not sick."
Sonia nodded. "I guess I…." Her eyes widened. She got up and walked toward the stairs that led to her part of the house.
Sonic looked at her. "What's up, sis?"
Sonia continued on her way.
Sonic got up and raced after Sonia.
Sonia, carrying a small box, came back up the stairs.
Sonic followed Sonia to the bathroom door.
Sonia knocked on the door. "Manic, can I come in for a second?"
Manic sighed. "What?"
"It's important." Sonia replied.
"Give me a minute." Manic called.
Sonic looked at the box. "Oh… tell me you're joking, sis."
Sonia shrugged. "We'll see."
Sonic grimaced. "This week just keeps getting weirder."
Manic finally let Sonia in.
After a few minutes, Sonia walked out.
"So how long will this take?" Sonic asked.
"About three minutes." Sonia replied.
Sonic slapped his hand over his face. "I can't believe this is happening."
"Tell me about it." Sonia said.
Sonic and Sonia leaned against the wall.
Sonic started whistling the Jeopardy theme.
Sonia laughed.
"Shut up, Sonic!" Manic yelled.
Sonia noticed Sonic about to open his mouth. "Don't even think about it. It's too easy."
Sonic nodded. "He's been through enough anyway."
Manic started screaming.
Sonic smirked. "So what did it say?"
Sonia gave Sonic an incredulous look.
"Keep running your mouth and I'm gonna beat you with your own guitar." Manic snapped.
"Can we come in?" Sonia asked.
Manic huffed. "Whatever."
Sonia and Sonic came in.
Sonic's phone chimed. "That's Tails. He got it fixed."
"Awesome." Manic said. "Let's go."
**
"It blew a fuse." Tails said, showing them the old part. "So I got the new one on same day delivery. It was a little more expensive, but I know we all want this reversed right away."
"We sure do." Manic said.
"Oh, and Manic, I made those cryo guns for you if you want to see them really quick."
"Yeah, go see them." Sonia said. "I gotta ask Sonic something."
Tails led Manic across the lab.
"How safe do you think that thing is?" Sonia asked.
"Not very safe." Sonic replied. "Tails' inventions usually have a ton of bugs."
Sonia glanced at Manic, who was talking to Tails. "Do you think I can convince him to wait until the baby's born?"
"No." Sonic replied. "That's not anything he wants to go through, even for you, sis."
Sonia but her lip. "But I don't want my baby hurt."
Sonic nodded. "I'll try to talk to him." He said. "It's possible it might not cause any damage."
Sonia folded her arms. "That's not a guarantee."
"Hold on a minute." Sonic said. He walked over to Tails and Manic. "Tails, Sonia wants to ask you something."
"Alright." Tails replied. He walked over to Sonia.
"Sonia's concerned about how this'll affect her baby." Sonic said.
"I am too, but I'm not staying in her body for that." Manic replied.
Sonic nodded. "I knew you'd say that." He said. "Look, I know that's a lot to ask of you. It'll devastate her if something goes wrong and I know you won't be able to live with yourself either."
Manic sighed. "Stop trying to guilt trip me."
"Is it working?" Sonic asked.
Manic bit his lip. "I- I'm sure Tails worked out the bugs this time."
Tails walked over to Manic and Sonic. "Sorry, Manic, it'll have to wait." He said. "I'm not willing to take that risk."
"I'm not either." Manic replied.
Sonia rushed over and hugged Manic.
Manic sighed. "You're welcome, sis." He said. "You owe me big time."
"Of course, bro." Sonia replied.
"No, I'll have a list of demands." Manic said.
"Anything you want." Sonia replied.
Sonic explained what was going on with Manic as best as he could since Manic still didn't feel like talking and had to go to Tails' bathroom to throw up during the middle of the discussion.
