It had been two weeks since the hurricane and Mobotropolis was still in the dark.

While Cyrus did his best to give the triplets updates and supplies, he only contacted them once every few days at best. Today had been a week since the last update, but at least they were somewhat well stocked with food again.

Sonic stepped outside to answer Cyrus' call. "What's going on?"

"We're still working on getting the power on." Cyrus said. "There's at least ninety dead, twenty missing so far."

Sonic sighed and ran his hand through his spines. "That's awful."

"No one's seen your mom so far." Cyrus said. "But don't lose hope. She could be safe."

Sonic wiped tears out his eyes. "Yeah. I- I'm sure she is."

"I'll keep you updated." Cyrus said. "I'll talk to you later."

"Thanks, Cyrus." Sonic replied. He hung up. "I don't want to worry them. I'll wait until there's confirmation."

Sonic headed back inside.

Manic was glaring at Sonia, his mouth in a straight line.

Sonia was pacing around.

Manic seethed.

Sonia groaned. "I hate this." She whined. "Why couldn't we get a gas powered water heater?"

Manic and Sonic watched Sonia head to the bathroom with disgusted looks.

Manic glanced at Sonic. "You think Ro-butt-nik would want her as a robot slave or would he just ship her back to us?"

Sonic flinched. "Whoa, where'd that come from?"

Manic sighed. "I'm sorry." He said. "Her cabin fever or whatever is driving me crazy. It's hard on all of us, but the spoiled little princess is acting like she's the only one who's suffering."

Sonic nodded. "I know, I know." He replied. "I'll talk to her. Try to take a nap, listen to your music, or something."

Manic got his hoverboard. "I'll see you later."

Sonic nodded.
**

Sonia finally came out of the bathroom.

Sonic grabbed her arm. "We need to talk." He said, walking Sonia to the living room.

Sonia sat on the couch.

Sonic stood in front of Sonia and folded his arms. "Sonia, I know you're not used to this, but you're not the only one suffering." He said. "We're still alive."

"What- did anyone die?" Sonia asked.

Sonic nodded slowly. "Yeah." He replied. "Cyrus hasn't gotten the latest figures, but we've lost close to a hundred citizens, maybe more. Also… I didn't want to worry you or Manic, but Mom's MIA."

Sonia started sobbing hysterically.

Sonic sat beside her and let her cry on his shoulder.

Manic burst into the room. "What now?" He questioned. "Did you break a nail?"

Sonic gave Manic a look.

"Mother might not have made it." Sonia sobbed.

Manic dropped his hoverboard. "W- what?"

"So far, no one's seen her." Sonic said. "I didn't want to worry you all and was waiting for any confirmation one way or another."

Manic walked over and sat beside Sonia. He hugged her, crying as well.

"Good news; Mom was spotted in east Mobius." Sonic said, scrolling through his phone. "She's assisting in the clean up and supply efforts."

"That's a relief." Sonia replied.

"Are you sure?" Manic asked.

Sonic showed Manic the picture on his phone.

"Good." Manic replied.

The lights flickered on.

Sonic, Manic, and Sonia hugged each other.

"It's back!" Sonia squealed.

"Hallelujah." Manic said.

Sonic checked his communicator. "Cyrus said our area is halfway back online and to expect rolling brownouts."

"What's that?" Sonia asked.

"It's when they cut power temporarily to plug someone else in." Manic replied. "It's normal and it's a safety measure."

Sonia nodded.

"So be prepared that we could be in the dark again for a few minutes or so." Sonic said.
**

Manic refueled the van with the gas containers they had for the generator.

Sonia stocked up the fridge.

"Alright, we're well stocked and at full power." Sonic said, climbing into the driver's seat. "Let's help some freedom fighters."

Manic and Sonia took their seats and buckled themselves in as Sonic buckled in and started the van.

"Let's head to east Mobius and see if Ma's there." Manic said.

"Way ahead of you, bro." Sonic replied. He turned the van down the road that will take them to East Mobius.
