The Final Battle
0 reviewsAN: Sonic's distraction tactic was inspired by a similar scene in Sonic SatAm. I hope you all, especially Tomaris, enjoyed it and there's two more stories in this series. I had thought about letti...

Sonic stood on the roof of one of the towers near Robotnik's fortress. He held up a white flag with both hands. "I give up!" He screamed. "Do you hear me Ro-butt-nik?! I give up! I can't take this anymore!"
Swatbots immediately surrounded Sonic.
Sonic dropped the flag and held his arms out for the Swatbots to fire the electronic shackles.
Manic came out from behind a bunch of boxes he was hiding behind and climbed onto a Swatbot's leg.
The Swatbots, with Manic clinging onto one of the bot's legs, led Sonic straight to Robotnik and shoved him down onto his knees in front of the tyrant.
Manic held his breath as he waited for a message from Sally or for Sonic to give him some kind of signal.
"Just get it over with." Sonic said, voice breaking.
Robotnik looked Sonic over. "I didn't expect it to be this easy." He said, pushing a button on the control panel. "Why are you giving up?"
Sonic hung his head. "We can't cure Sonia." He said, choking back tears. "She killed Manic. I had to… I had to shut her down."
Robotnik raised an eyebrow.
Sonic laughed bitterly. "Manic was right: the Oracle is full of it."
Robotnik gave a smug grin as Sonic started crying.
Manic smirked as he read a message saying that Alternate Robotnik got the army inside with no problems, the swatbots were being shut down, and that Sleet and Dingo had surrendered. He shut off the bots near him.
Robotnik grabbed Sonic by his spines and dragged him to the roboticizer. "As soon as you're roboticized, the resistance will crumble." He boasted. "Oh, how I dreamed of this very moment."
Manic leaped off of the swatbot and landed at an angle where Robotnik could see him.
Robotnik did a double take at Manic. "You?! How are you alive?"
Sonic stopped crying. "You look pretty good for a dead guy, bro."
"You're a better actor than I thought you'd be." Manic said.
"It's over, Robotnik." Sonic said, pulling away from him.
Sally, Sonia, and Bunnie burst into the room.
Robotnik turned around and pointed over Sonic's head. "Queen Aleena?"
Sonic spin dashed Robotnik. "Not even Dingo would've fallen for that, Buttnik."
Manic fired the electronic shackles at Robotnik's wrists and ankles.
Sonia moaned and held her head.
Sally ran over to the control panel for the roboticizer. "Bunnie, get Sonia into the roboticizer."
Bunnie picked up Sonia and stuck her into the roboticizer before the hedgehog cyborg could react.
Sally put the machine in reverse and turned it on.
Manic turned around. His jaw dropped.
"What's with you, Manic?" Sonic asked. He turned around. "Mom!"
Manic and Sonic ran over to Queen Aleena and hugged her.
"I never thought this would actually happen." Manic said softly.
"I missed you so much." Queen Aleena said, hugging Sonic and Manic.
The roboticizer finally shut off.
"It works, Sally girl!" Bunnie exclaimed.
Sonia looked at her arms and felt her face. "I can't believe it."
Sonic ran over to Sonia. "It's finally over, Sis." He said. "We won and…." He dragged her over to Queen Aleena.
Sonia gasped. "Mother?"
Queen Aleena let go of Manic and hugged Sonia.
"Words can't describe how sorry I am for sending you away." She said. "I wish I could've kept you with me or kept you together."
"Why didn't you keep us together?" Manic asked.
"To make it harder to find you." Queen Aleena replied. "Robotnik would've expected you to be together. Now, I can explain everything back at the palace."
Queen Aleena let Sonia go.
"Great to have you back to normal, sis." Sonic said, patting Sonia on the shoulder.
Manic hugged Sonia. "Sorry for… all of that earlier."
"I forgive you, bro." Sonia said. "You were just concerned for everyone else.
"Let's go home, children." Queen Aleena said, putting her arms around Sonia and Manic's shoulders.
Sonic led the way as they left Robotnik's fortress.
Manic wiped his brow. "Ugh, I feel awful."
Sonic looked back at Manic. "You look awful. You can rest when we get to the palace."
